Jonte's P.O.V
The first few moments being allowed outside of my bed feel a little bit weird to me. I always thought that when I would be allowed to get out of bed and get a little breath of fresh air that I would be alone but every time I go to move anywhere Taylor or Karlie or both leap from the sofa in the private room that they arranged for me and ask me if there is anything that they can do for me. Of course I always say no but that's a total lie. Of course there are things that they can do for me but I'm having a hard time in letting them take that parental role on. It's not that I don't appreciate it but it's just different than me having to deal with things on my own. That is the part that's taking some getting used to.
"Where are you going now?" Taylor questions as I shuffle myself closer to the edge of the bed where the crutches are resting. I raise my eyebrows at her and she smiles as Karlie laughs and pats Taylor on the arm and says, "just relax babe. If he needs us he will ask. Right Jonte?" I nod at her and Taylor settles back against Karlie and the small sofa. "Okay, just..." I look at her.
"I know okay. I only want to maybe take a hop." I say to them as they nod and as I go to stretch out for the crutches I know that I can't reach them without help. Slowly I pause mid extension and say a small and timid, "Taylor," her head pokes up as I say, "can you help me?" Taylor smiles widely and stands up and comes around she helps me move towards the edge of the bed and lower my injured knee onto the ground. I look at the crutches, and she hands them to me with the handles going to the right hands which makes things easier for me. I roughly attempt to stand but I feel everything pull and it makes me gasp in pain. "Easy," Taylor instructs and I listen and slowly breathe in and out trying to calm myself down.
It takes several minutes until I feel calm enough to stand up with the support of the crutches and as soon as I'm comfortable I take a hop forward followed by another one and another one. It feels so much better to be out of the hospital bed and moving around. Of course I'm sore due to the torn ACL but I've been told by the numerous doctors that Taylor and Karlie have had brought in that it will take at least a year or a decent six months of intensive physiotherapy and taking care if it's to be as strong as it was before. But I'm intending it to be as strong as before and I'm willing to do what it takes. Karlie and Taylor are already talking about some of the good physiotherapists that are around L.A but then Taylor brought up the idea of moving away from L.A which doesn't sound like a bad idea to me, only Karlie wasn't keen on it. I happen to think that me getting away from the memories of California including my brother who still can't be found and the possibility that Ivan is still looking for me. Maybe a new start is what I need for there to be enough time to heal my pain, not only the pain from the injury but the pain of my past.
Karlie's P.O.V
Taylor and I are leaving Jonte in the hospital for his last night there before we are able to take him home. Thankfully all of the paperwork for him and the adoption of him has gone through and he's not officially ours. We've adopted him. He seemed excited about the chance of moving to anywhere except for L.A but it makes me nervous, moving him so far away from all of his safety. I don't want him to think that we're making him move away from everything that he's ever known to a place where we want to live. It simply makes me nervous, I've never been a parent before to anyone except for animals and a human is a little different. Sure Jonte is a grown boy and he takes pretty good care of himself considering that it's all he knows but I want to make sure that we make choices that are good for him not us. This life that he's living is about him now, we're only going to make his life easier. He's a good kid and bad things have just happened to him. I guess that we will have to discuss what happens next with him and I know that Taylor wants to discuss it tonight when we are in the hotel room that we've booked.
The hotel room is well in truly trashed at this point, there are odd bits of clothing and other bits and pieces of ours that are littering the room but considering that Jonte gets released tomorrow and we will be going straight back to L.A to the house there it made sense to simply pack up the night before. Now it's the night before an I've never been one to enjoy packing so I'll probably try to convince Taylor to do it for me.
I drop her off at the main entrance and I go to fuel up the vehicle so that tomorrow we can leave straight away with no interruptions like stopping for gas. But the moment that I'm back and about to go into the hotel room I take a deep breath and calm myself down. The moment that I step into the hotel room I notice how much cleaner it is, Taylor has already picked up all of my things without me even asking her to. When I walk into the bedroom to thank her I am greeted with possibly the best sight that I've ever seen before. A naked Taylor sitting up and tossing a bottle of chocolate sauce up and down. "Hungry Karlie?" I feel my mouth go dry and my heart speed up. "Hell yes, whatever you say babe." I groan stripping off my shirt and jeans before crawling on the bed and hovering above Taylor. "Well what I want is one last night with my hot wife before we have a teenage boy in our house." Taylor states as she caresses my arm lovingly but before her hands nip up and she fondles my breasts. "I really want something Karlie, can you help me?" she queries. "What do you want? Anything you want baby," I state lovingly as she hugs me close.
"I want to move to Nashville."
