Taylor's P.O.V

"I don't care Karlie." I yell as Karlie visibly flinches at the change of my tone of voice.
"I know you don't care Taylor, but that's where I am. For god's sake ever since you decided to take another contract from Big Machine all you care about is what you're going to get out of it." Karlie states looking at me with visible disgust, "I know." I state to Karlie as I walk past her and into the lounge, "but someone has to bring the money in while you are lying around doing nothing with that fancy NYU degree and letting your modelling contracts fall by the wayside. What ever happened to that fancy YouTube channel that Casey helped you set up? Huh Karlie..." I question.
"You know that I am having issues with that..." Karlie attempts to say but I stop her.
"No you're making excuses and I can't take any more of this so I'm leaving. I'll be in Nashville if you change your mind and decide that you want to be my partner and come with me, but if you want to stay that's fine too. I'll see you in a few weeks." I state grabbing my purse and Meredith and Olivia's cat cages. Walking to the door I move towards the front door and hand the cages to a sheepish looking Paul. "Sorry Miss Swift..." he states, I smile at him.
"It's okay Paul, ready the SUV we will be headed to JFK in a few minutes." He nods and disappears as I walk back into the apartment and see Karlie still in the kitchen at the bar, she hasn't moved once nor has she changed her mind and started to pack so I've decided to leave it as it is, I can't force her to come with me nor can I make her start her Klossy channel up again. It's all up to her and I can't be the force behind her, not anymore she has to stand on her own two feet.

The flight to Nashville is bumpy and filled with turbulence just like my life with Karlie right now. All of my friends warned me about her tendencies but I failed to see her like that. She had never been anything but dedicated when I first met her at the VS Show in 2013 and until she began to feel the pressure with Kode with Klossy and the YouTube channel she was a dedicated worker and a partner to me but lately I've been coming in second to TV and sometimes even further down the list. It's been difficult and although I am going down to Nashville to cement my contract with Big Machine I'm also going to see my parents because I know that my mom is worried about me and while she heals from her cancer I can't have her worrying about me, not now and not today. The moment that I arrive at the airport and security see me safely off the plane they hop into the second car while I ride in the first one, alone. It's the first time I've been alone since mine and Karlie's famous road trip to Big Sur in California, it was our first trip away together and the first trip that was the start of many firsts for us. We sometimes refer to that trip as the 'Firsts' Trip.

The short drive to my parent's house that they still have even all these years after I brought it for them stands proudly among the flowers that my mom has obviously planted recently. She prides herself on the fact that regardless of our wealth or status she always strives to have the best garden possible and I have to admit she always makes it look nice. Walking up to the door I pause but still walk in like I'm returning from a day at school. I hear mom call out to me from the kitchen and I can see and smell that she is preparing cookies for us, it's nice to smell something that I haven't made myself. "Taylor, you made it. How was the flight down?"
"It was great mom, how are things here?" I question back and we continue to just catch up and when dad comes in from his shed he greets the cats who had been brought in by security while mom and I were talking and then he proceeds to ask similar questions to what my mom had spent the last half an hour asking. It's late in the afternoon by the time I get down to Big Machine but as I sit and talk to Scott about adjustments to my new contract which is a three album contract with allowances for children and is practically an open ended contract but Scott believes that after all the top albums that we've had previously with Fearless and 1989 being Album of the Year winners at the Grammy's. But before we can even sign it my phone rings, I glance down and see a New York number, but it's not one I recognize. "Hello?" I question.
"Hi is this Taylor Swift?" I confirm that it is and the person on the other end continues to talk. "Good, we've been trying to contact someone and this is the only number that wasn't engaged. My name is Hailey and I'm calling from New York Memorial Hospital, Karlie Kloss has come into the ER tonight with extensive vomiting and we want to release her but due to the extreme dehydration we want to release her into a family member and or friend. What is your relationship to Miss Kloss?" I look at Scott and say, "I'm her girlfriend and I'm currently in Nashville but I can be back in the city in four hours. Will that work? Her parents live in St. Louis so I'm the closest by far." The nurse confirms that it will be fine and so I make plans to go back to New York. My parents agree to keep the cats for me and Scott promises to call and talk through the contract. I nod and quickly board the plane back to the city.

Before too long I'm back and in the car on the way to the hospital I've been in contact with them and they have said that Karlie is now fine and on my arrival Hailey informs me that Karlie only vomited due to the dehydration so she is only dehydrated not sick. I nod and listen for things to look out for but we are quickly on our way and within an hour Karlie is in bed piled up with blankets. I have soup on the stove warming and as Karlie sleeps I call Scott and we discuss the contract and agree on all the terms and he promises to have a copy faxed to me so we can get this new contract organized. I'm not worried though I trust Scott so when I hang up I decide to focus only on Karlie. Taking her soup up to her I see her sluggishly moving back from the bathroom, putting the soup down I move towards her. "Oh baby, I would have helped you." I state as she smiles at me. "Babe, I'm fine I don't need help." She states, but I don't hear any more of it until she is back I bed, I hand her the soup and allow her to sip it quietly and as Karlie later sleeps I gently brush the hairs from her face and take note of how she's changed, even since I left her here. She seems like a different person and I'm glad that we are here together and that she is allowing me to help her it makes me believe that the next time that we have a disagreement that I can hope that we will make up again. But it's my plan that we won't fight again.
