Forcing Her Hand

Taylor scanned the crowd, blue eyes looking for the green ones she always did when she was up there. She found them; and next to Karlie was Josh. This was Taylor's worst nightmare coming to life. Karlie had warned her that she was still figuring things out. She had told her from the beginning; "I love our connection, I love us. Josh is still in the picture until I figure things out." Taylor had tried to be okay about it all. She had tried not to care. She had tried to let it all go. Somewhere in that mess were her emotions.

"Hello everyone!" Taylor addressed the crowd, who went wild. "I have decided to change the pronouns for this song, Wildest Dreams, as well as a line in the song. Instead of saying 'he is so tall, and handsome as hell', I am going to say 'she is so tall, and beautiful as well'. This is just an experiment!" She smiled and began. "She said let's get out of this town..." And the song flowed. It took every bit of Karlie to not start crying, and Taylor never took her eyes off of her.  Josh watched, helplessly as the women connected from far apart. The song finished, and intermission began, with Taylor going back to her dressing room. Karlie was given access to the back, but Josh had to wait with the guards. "What was that?" Karlie asked.
"I wrote it for you!" Taylor hunched over her dressing room makeup table. "It's all for you!" She held up her 1989 CD. "I am such a fool..." She pressed her lips together in a thin line. "You are just like everyone else, a slave to money. I hope his old money ass makes you happy!" Taylor swung open the door and pointed. "Go to him. I am finished trying to impress you and be your everything. I am done hoping that you will choose me over him. $200 million isn't enough, you need a billion, fine! Have it. You will be a bored, former model like Janice Dickenson and he will be husband number one and you will have your regrets." Taylor touched up her lipstick, a move she knew Karlie couldn't resist. "I am not a layaway item for you to put on hold until you choose me instead of him. I cave. I give up. It's not that you aren't worth it, it's that I am."

Karlie pinned Taylor to the wall and kissed her deeply. She stopped and looked her up and down. "It isn't about the money," she held Taylor close, arms around her waist tightly. "I am scared about what this means for everyone and everything. This is a huge step, and I don't know to handle the whole world knowing about you and me. I know how the world handles straight couples; just fine. Even if they are all accepting," she kissed Taylor's neck and shoulder. "What happens when their expectations of us get so large?" Karlie looked panicked. 
"That is when we are there for each other and we carry each other through it. I cannot handle this life without you, but I don't want to be second, or an option. I want to be your priority, and I am done even considering not making you mine. If you want me at your next runway show, there I will be, front row. I love you." Taylor smoothed down Karlie's hair and looked at her hopeful. "I can't live without you, without us." She was pleading. "And I won't share anymore." She kissed her deeply and Karlie melted into her, holding her tightly. 

"We need to figure this out." Karlie stated. 
"If the decision isn't clear, I need to walk away." Taylor pulled back just a little, her hands lingering inside of Karlie's. "Do you love him?" She asked. 
"Not like I love you." Karlie replied, going in for another kiss. Before she could explain anything, Josh burst in. "I think I am going to be sick." He walked off stunned.
"Josh..." Karlie barely blurted out. 
"If you go after him, you lose me," Taylor slipped into her next dress, taking an extra second to stand naked in front of Karlie, and Karlie stood there, frustrated. Everything was unraveling. For as much as Taylor liked control over her own life, Karlie was the same way about hers.
