Kurt's P.O.V
"Karlie hurry up you'll be late and I don't have time to take you in..." I call out as I butters and jam my toast. He glances up at the clock and watches it tick over to 7.16am and then I hear her familiar footsteps jumping down the stairs. "Ladies walk Karlie..." Kristine calls out from her room where I assume that she is getting organized for college. "Karlie...I really don't have time for this..." I call as I grab my briefcase and then she emerges around the corner. "Cool your jets old man I'm here." I smile at her familiar jeans and t-shirt combination, "ooh, old man that's original." She laughs and grabs and apple before trotting out after me, grabbing her school bag and bag for the next week too. I sigh and Karlie looks at me, "it's not a big deal dad. I'll be back in a week." I nod and walk to the car as Karlie yells out a goodbye to Kristine. It sucks that Karlie still has to go through the proceedings of the divorce and that her mom lives closer to us, her mom is making sure that she can have Karlie for a week at a time every two weeks until Karlie turns eighteen.
Karlie's P.O.V
Walking into a new school is always hard, doing it in the middle of junior year makes it more complicated. There is only another year and a bit until school is finished and we can graduate and so school classes are already sorted out, it's already been established who the smart kids are, the no hopers and the athletes. But above all, cliques have already formed and so I'm expecting today to be terrible and I also expect that no one will talk to me.
The initial walk into my new school doesn't faze me at all because everyone is busy milling around and not paying attention to another blonde girl walking in with jeans and a t-shirt. Good thing this is Nashville and I fit in no matter what I wear. Walking towards the office I quickly receive my timetable and walk to my first class, biology. Entering I expect that no one is there and I'm hoping to get a back row seat. But I'm shocked when I walk in and there is already a group of eight girls sitting near the back, they are all sitting in a large group with only one more seat available in the back row. "Lookie here ladies, a new fish..." some girl in the back row states. I freeze on the way in and just stop, I don't know what to say. Do I say hello or do I ignore what they just said. "Hey are you deaf?" some other girl questions but they stop when a blonde stands up and tells the others to shush. "Aww Tay, you're too nice..." the new fish girl states. This girl, Taylor, comes up to me and holds her hand out. "Hi, I'm Taylor..." I smile,
"Nice to meet you, I'm Karlie." I say smiling but walking past her and moving to the last available seat in the back row, taking out all of my books that I'll need for this class. I settle back and when everyone mills in and the teacher calls my name the lesson begins on DNA make-up. Which bores me since I learnt it at my old school.
Lunch is an interesting experience. I don't buy lunch because my dad is a doctor and he makes our lunches, I'll only buy lunch on the weeks that I'm with my mother because she doesn't cook. The minute that the bell rings to indicate the start of our 45 minute lunch I head out to find a bench to sit on, this school is so different to anything before. Most schools don't allow kids to be outside the cafeteria but this one does, once you have your food you can go anywhere and when I set myself down on a bench under a nice tree but the silence that I appreciate doesn't last long when a group of girls come over and join me. I look up at the person whose shadow crosses me and I see Taylor. "Mind if we join you?" I shrug and they all sit down. I continue to eat and when Taylor clears her throat she says, "I think I should introduce you all..." I look up as she goes around the group. "Karlie, meet Lily, Gigi, Ruby, Kendall, Jaime, Blake and Cara, girls meet Karlie. She's new." I smile at them and say hi, the rest of the 45 minute lunch goes fast and before I know it we all feel like decent acquaintances.
One Year Later...
Taylor's P.O.V
"Taylor Alison Swift I've made waffles, now get up. Last call." I roll over and slip off the side of the bed. Hitting the floor with a dull thunk I let out a delayed 'ow', and then quickly get up ready to start the day. Walking downstairs I walk into the kitchen where mom, dad and Austin are enjoying breakfast. "Glad you could join us Teffy," Austin states with his mouth full of food.
"Indeed, did you bust a hole in my floor missy?" Dad questions as mom struggles to not laugh and I roll my eyes as I sit down and make my favourite fruity waffles with maple syrup on top. "Okay let her be...what's happening at school today team?" mom questions as Austin rolls his eyes and says nothing while I tell them all about how I'm meeting up with the squad and then we have a party to go to later. Thankfully it's Friday night and I'm allowed to go to parties of close friends which is how I'm allowed to go to the Greyson's party. Austin is friends with their son and dad plays golf with the father Conrad.
As the last bell goes to indicate the end of the day I smile and look to my left to see my best friend Karlie smiling at me. We both lean in and fist bump, that's Karlie's favourite thing to do and it's different than the 'kiss darlings' that I do with my other friends excluding Cara who simply hi-fives me. "You ready for the best night of your life?" Karlie questions making me look at her. "Of course, do you think Tina will be there?" I question Karlie hoping that she's not going to be there. Tina and I competed for the lead in the school play which I won and she vowed to make me publicly pay for beating her. I'm really hoping that Tina doesn't choose tonight to do that but who knows. Karlie and I leave our math class and head to our meeting place for our squad. When Karlie and I arrive Cara, Gigi, Ruby and Kendall are already there and we are only waiting for Jamie and Blake of which both had economics so they'll be along shortly.
We all leave together and instead of walking to the Greyson's we don't have to worry as the Greyson's have organized a bus to take the seniors to their place. We arrive in our clothing that we were wearing at school but this is a laid back party and so we're going to just be chilling out by the pool and playing dumb party games. My night is going well until I decide to go in and catch up with the rest of the squad who are in the kitchen. But as soon as I've gone into the kitchen I see that no one is there, after looking around confused I hear Karlie's voice from the next room. Walking in I see everyone is sat in a circle, I watch before Cara waves me over and I smile before joining her.
As soon as I sit down and take a look around the group I see Tina, she's next in line to make a dare or say a truth. I sigh and Cara rubs my thigh as if to tell me to calm down. Everyone is aware that Tina and I have butted heads at one time or another and so I'm not surprised when it's her turn and she fixes her gaze on me. "Taylor Swift, truth or dare..." I look at her and go to speak but she stops me, "wait you'll pick truth..." so then I say,
"dare..." I say as Tina turns to me with a large grin and says.
"Okay, dare then." She looks around the room and as a large smile settles on her face I follow her gaze to Karlie. "I dare you Taylor Swift to spend seven minutes in the closet with Karlie Kloss..." everyone gasps but Karlie shrugs and we both stand and move to the closet. "Don't worry about this Tay, it's only spending time together." But that's when Tina throws another dagger into the mix. "Before I forget, you two must also kiss before you enter to prove you've done the dare." Karlie moves closer to me and then she grabs my face and kisses me before dragging me off to the closet. As we enter she whispers, "alone for seven minutes...what could happen now?" she questions.
