Taylor's P.O.V
Picking up Jonte from the hospital made me more nervous than any other time in my life including my first live show ever. Karlie and I were now in charge of raising a child, a boy, our son. I waited in the vehicle as Karlie dashes in to get Jonte and within fifteen minutes both Karlie and Jonte re-emerge. Jonte in a wheel chair being pushed by an orderly who assists him into the car getting him to use his good leg for lift and then to wriggle along the backseat of the vehicle until he's comfortable, he lets out the odd grunt and groan as everything pulls and tugs but once he nods to the orderly and the door is shut he breathes out a sigh of relief.
"How does it feel to be free?" Karlie questions as she slides into the driver's seat.
"It's amazing, better than being cooped up for another day. I'd go stir crazy." Jonte states as he watches the scenery pass by the car as we make our way back to L.A. "Well lucky for you we're on our way out of here then." Jonte smiles as we drive back towards L.A but then a frown crosses his face, "do I have to go back to the orphanage now or just back with you?" I turn so I can see his face as I say, "no we're going back to L.A we have our plane ready to fly back to Nashville. We've decided that it would be best if you were able to adjust away from the spotlight of a big city." I watch as a grin crosses his face, "I know that things are being made difficult by our jobs but we hope that in time we can all adjust and hopefully Nashville is the place to do that." I state as Karlie reaches for my hand and I take it. "That's fine by me. I've never been outside California so I'm pretty excited to see Tennessee..." Jonte gushes with his gaze still focused outside the car. Karlie breaks into a snigger causing Jonte to look at her with a slight hurt look, I whack Karlie and she says. "What, it's funny because of all the houses that we have, I mean between us we have the L.A house, Nashville apartment, New York apartment times two since I still have mine and then the Rhode Island house too. So I think it's safe to say that Jonte will get to experience life outside of California, don't you think?" Karlie questions looking at me as I smile and then look at Jonte who is now smiling, "okay, maybe you're right." I state as Karlie turns to focus in on the road.Jonte's P.O.V
The ride to the airport where the plane that is going to take us to Nashville will be, I quickly tune out Karlie and Taylor and focus on the outside images that are flashing past quickly. After a while I feel myself getting tried and so I quickly start to nod off and it is only the car stopping that pulls me from sleep as I look around expecting to be at the busy LAX airport I'm shocked to see a variety of small and large planes around me. I sit up and say, "where are we?" Karlie turns as she turns off the vehicle and she says, "at the airport, remember we are going to Nashville." Karlie states looking confused, even Taylor looks confused but I quickly say, "I know that but why aren't we at LAX?" my question makes them both grin at each other and the look at me making me say, "what?"
"Jonte, Taylor has her plane here in L.A, it's how we get from place to place." Karlie states as I look out the window confused but somehow it all makes sense. It doesn't take long for security at the airport to unload my bag and Taylor and Karlie's from the back of the SUV and then as Karlie and Taylor step out of the vehicle and move towards the plane, I still continue to wait and see what happens next. This is such an eye opening experience for me and it makes me laugh that I didn't figure it out that Taylor would have her own plane. I'm lost in my thoughts until a slight knock on the window next to me draws me out of my funk. Karlie is at the door with my crutches, she opens it and I manage to wriggle my way down the seat and lower my good leg followed by the bad without putting the bad one down. Carefully I hop towards the plane and Taylor waits at the top of the stairs as I start to hop up them with Karlie following behind. She lets out a good joke then, "well when we land you might have to slide down the stairs, I don't think hopping is good for ya."I don't get her joke but she laughs at it and when she repeats it so does Taylor. I don't let on to either of them that I don't understand it I just let them think that I was busy concentrating on my hops.
Reaching the top seemed like an achievement but when I turn around and look at Karlie following me I see that I've only hopped up maybe ten steps but it is tiring. Taylor helps me manage the crutches and getting to a seat. Once I'm settled Karlie comes in behind with a range of different pillows and blankets to make the trip to Nashville more comfortable. It blows my mind that people have their own plane but as I look around Taylor's I can't even tell that it's a simple, 'I'm rich, check me out' thing. The only part of the plane that reminds me that she is rich is the fact that the number 13 is stitched into every seat on the twelve seat plane. I've since found out that the number thirteen is Taylor's lucky number, no one told me but I've been able to do research on the two of them. I mean they are now my moms.
End of Part 9.
