"Come on April, just one time. Please baby..." Karlie coos at her four year old daughter as she sits next to her at the dinner table. "She's not going to do it Karlie." Taylor calls from the kitchen. Karlie turns to face her wife and pokes out her tongue. "She's going to eat it, or at least try it. This can't go on much longer." Karlie states exasperated at her daughters lack of enthusiasm in trying vegetables. As Karlie faces April armed with a small princess fork that is full of mashed potato and peas. She picks it up and aims it at her daughter's mouth but April only shies away and won't open her mouth at all. "Please April, remember that there is a new Barbie doll on the line. If you take this mouthful and try it, we can get you something for good behaviour." But April still refuses to open.
As the tap in the kitchen cuts off and Taylor joins Karlie and April at the table in the dining room with her own plate of dinner and sits looking knowingly at her daughter who is shyly looking at her other mother. "April, you need to try the vegetables." Taylor states lovingly as she runs her fingers through her daughters ringlets of brown hair. "They won't hurt you. Not to try it. Please for mommy." Taylor states in a pleading tone that automatically gains April's attention. If there is ever a person to convince April to eat her vegetables it's Taylor.
April at the insistence of Taylor turns to face Karlie and opens her mouth, it's a testing time for Karlie but she brings the fork closer and closer to the four year old's mouth and April keeps her mouth open and so Karlie takes her opportunity and feeds her daughter. Who closes her mouth and chews a little before casting a glance at her mother. "How does that taste?" Karlie questions as the little girl makes a face and then swallows. "Yucky mama." April states picking up her teddy bear that she had placed next to her when Taylor had asked her to try the vegetables. "Let's try some more missy," Taylor states and April looks up and makes a face, "don't you dare. You'll eat a good half of your vegetables." Taylor finishes as she starts to eat her chicken with some potato.
April nods and picks up her fork as Karlie also begins to eat the chicken, potato and peas that Taylor had spent time cooking for dinner. It is a rare time that Karlie ever gets to sit down with her family and eat dinner as she's usually still at the café that she owns in downtown Nashville. Taylor had already helped April bath Joe the family dog and put their two younger children the twins who are ten months old down. Karlie does look at Taylor and say, "this is heaven, it may not be pure bliss all the time but I love our family and I love our life together here in Nashville." Taylor nods and watches as April slowly eats her potato and peas. She already eaten the diced chicken that Taylor had dished her up. "I agree with you Karlie, I love our life here too. But next time you're cooking dinner." Karlie finds herself smiling and laughing about it until they both settle down and watch a movie later on in the night.
