Taylor's P.O.V

"Taylor you better hurry up and get dressed, your parents have just come in the gate. I mean really babe. Put some pants on at least." Karlie sighs as she leaves the kitchen where I'm currently stirring the gravy for lunch. "I'm a little bit pre-occupied can't you just get me a robe or something?" I call out to Karlie's retreating form. She heaves and sighs but I assume she's going to grab me something. My focus quickly changes from Karlie back to my gravy, I'm expecting it to be just as good as last year. It's something that I always make every year because everyone claims it's the best thing that I can make and so I ensure to always make it.

Time must pass because before I know it I hear the voices of my parents coming in the house. My dad is obviously talking to Karlie and I can hear my mom's shoes coming closer and closer to me. Heaving out a sigh I decide to not turn around and acknowledge her being here I know she realises that I'm not wearing pants. "Too hot honey?" I smirk and sigh but turn around and say,
"I asked Karlie! But obviously she doesn't care!" I make sure I say it loudly as Karlie comes towards the kitchen with my dad. "What's that, cussing me off again?" Karlie questions pressing a kiss to my head as I shake it. "Nope just stating that I asked you to get me some pants and you ignored it." My mom simply laughs as dad hands over the roast beef that mom has cooked. I slide it into the oven to keep it hot as Karlie checks the vegetables and states they are nearly ready.

"Well I guess you should probably go and get dressed Taylor. You're a big girl now and I don't think that underwear cut it for a Christmas dinner, do you?" I laugh and shake my head. Pressing a steamy kiss to Karlie's lips I quickly leave. As I walk through the lounge I admire the Christmas decorations as it looks amazing. Karlie initially complained about putting them up and lugging the boxes around but she changed her mind when she saw how awesome our entire house looks upon completion. Rushing up the stairs I spot Olivia on the chair by the banister and when I approach she looks up, scratching her behind the ear I quickly rush past and she only settles back down and goes back to sleep. Walking into the master bedroom I spot Meredith on the black skirt I was planning to wear and had spread on the bed. "Oh Mere, I was gonna wear that..." I state as she only glares at me and continues to cuddle down. "Damn it, now what." I state turning towards the closet.

I close my eyes and quickly dart into the closet not wanting to spend forever in there as it would make me want to clean it. Ruffling through the clothes on offer I spot a pair of my favourite jeans and then a sweater. I pull out a maroon one and strip off the NYU t-shirt of Karlie's that I had been wearing all day. "How does this look Mere?" I question slipping on socks and boots before she lifts her head and meows softly at me. "I will take that as a yes." I state kissing her head and more or less skipping out of the room.

Arriving back downstairs I see Austin and his girlfriend Amy are here. "Hey guys," I state hugging them both before being enveloped by Karlie and her long arms. "Is it time to eat yet?" Austin questions looking at me as I nod and look up at Karlie, mom quickly turns around and hands us all a plate so we can start to serve ourselves. Sitting down together feels so normal and I feel like the luckiest person in the world to be surrounded by my family and specifically Karlie. "Quiet at the table this year," I state as Austin nods while stuffing his face. I look at mom and she nods her head and continues to eat, then seemingly without thinking she says, "well maybe in a few years the table will be different," I choke on my beef while Austin starts to choke. Only Amy and Karlie are completely stoic and I say, "it's a bit too early for that don't you think?" Karlie only grins and looks down,  "I don't know Taylor, maybe you should ask your girlfriend how she feels." I look at Karlie and she only grins and looks at me. She mouths, "I love you." I look at her and the anxiety I feel about having kids with my job disappears. I breathe in and out of my mouth and suddenly the future with Karlie doesn't look so scary.
