"Come on Taylor, we have to leave, the limo won't wait forever and security is getting restless." Karlie calls from the bottom of the stairs near Meredith who is sleeping peacefully on the couch away from Olivia who has been hounding her all day. "Okay, geez I'm coming Karlie..." Karlie sniggers and security looks away, "oh my god you have such a dirty mind Karlie Kloss,"
"I can't help if that concept isn't exactly foreign to me when it comes to you, I don't recall you ever complaining about the concept of coming recently." Karlie states as Taylor starts to come down the stairs. "Still doesn't mean that everyone needs to know about us and you know it babe." Karlie smiles as Taylor comes to stop next to her and holds out her hand for Karlie to take. Karlie happily takes her girlfriends hand and the two of them make their way into the waiting limo as their publicists are already waiting and they are running late as normal. Taylor hates to arrive late but Karlie doesn't mind as long as she gets to be next to her girl all night.
As the night progresses Karlie begins to like this years' AMA's more than the last one. She's been many times over the years but never with someone that she cares about as much as she cares about Taylor. But things change as soon as they arrive. Taylor is swept up into interviews and meeting and catching up with people causing Karlie to become isolated and she ends up crashing into Shawn Mendes who she's met several times and he always seems to be extremely kind and willing to talk to her. They start to talk and before they know it the entire room is dimming signalling the start of the show. Taylor wanders back towards Karlie and places a protective arm on hers signalling to close friends nearby like Cara, Gigi, Zayn and Selena how possessive Taylor is being towards her girl.
Shawn stands on stage adjusting himself before the lights come up on stage. He's nervous, nervous about his song choice, nervous about performing live and nervous about performing to a crowd the size of the AMA's right now. It's been a crazy rise to fame for him and he's always admired those who have come before him. One of those amazing people that he admires is Taylor Swift. But he loves the fact that Taylor talks to him and is willing to always acknowledge people. But tonight something was different, maybe it was the way he spoke to Karlie, or talked to Karlie but it could have been the way that glint came to Taylors eyes when she saw that Shawn was talking to Karlie. But then the lights in the hall come back up and the music starts and Shawn forgets all about it.

As the applause for Shawn's singing ceases and Shawn flashes a name towards the front row where Taylor, Karlie, Selena, Zayn and Gigi happen to be sitting a look crosses Taylor's face and Shawn knows instantly that Taylor's coldness towards him is due to his apparent interest in Karlie but he wonders if there is more to the two women than meets the eyes. Maybe the tabloids are correct and Kaylor is living on in plain sight, never hiding always out there and constant. But as he walks off stage he's not certain but he thinks that he sees a slight kiss brush Taylor's shoulder and that's that alerts him to the possibility of more. It seems unlikely and likely at the same time but at the end of the day Shawn knows when his actions are not reciprocated and he knows that no matter how hard he tries he knows that he will never be able to win the heart of one miss Karlie Kloss because her heart belongs to one music superstar Taylor Swift.
At the end of the night Shawn goes up to Taylor and says, "she's a great girl. You're a lucky woman Taylor." Taylor turns suddenly and looks at Shawn her mouth slightly open but she neither confirms nor denies which is what I expected of her to be perfectly honest. "You don't have to confirm or deny but I know love when I see it, it's what we're all trying to find and you've already gotten yours." Taylor still looks shocked when Karlie comes over and kisses her cheek and hugs me. "Thanks Shawn we really appreciate it, don't we Taylor." Karlie prompts making me smile and give a little wave before walking off.
