Taylor's P.O.V
Looking around at the farm, I can't believe how nice it's been scrubbed up. It's hard to believe sometimes that it's been only a year since Karlie and I first met and two years since we started to date. I can't believe how things have worked out for us. We decided to move back to Australia after Karlie lost her job, for the simple reason of that there was no other opportunities in Toronto for her. It was tough for Karlie the first few months that we were here but after an extended stay at my parents place Karlie found a love for working on the farm and we've been here at the farm ever since. "Taylor, come on you know that you need to be ready in half an hour..." I turn around and see my mum standing there with her hands on her hips, "I know mum, I'm just watching things unfold down there." I state making mum grin at me.
"Of course you are, but if you're hoping to catch a glimpse of Karlie you're out of luck. Unlike you, she is currently getting ready with her sisters help. I nod and move back to the vanity to continue getting ready and hoping that the next few hours pass quickly, but as soon as I wish for them to go faster they speed by super-fast and all of a sudden I'm waiting with my dad next to the old barn waiting for the music to cue our entrance so I can make my way to my future wife. Recite the vows that we've been practicing for what seems like forever and kiss her like my life depends on it.
As the music begins to play my dad doesn't even have to drag me towards the barn as I willingly lead him but have to be patient as he stumbles on a few loose stones that add to our rustic wedding that we've been planning since we were in Toronto and I met the Klosses. Even now as I gaze around the barn that I've been playing in since I was five years old I can't believe how good this area turned out. When we thought about our dream wedding and our need to incorporate both of our childhoods it was easy to decide to use the farm and having spent lots of time here since Karlie came out from Toronto it was easy to pick a spot. I look around and see our family mixed, we didn't want to have my family on one side of the barn and Karlie's on the other so it's a forced mixture. I can see my mum already dabbing at her eyes as Austin smirks at me and then breaks out into his handsome smile, with his long-time girlfriend Selena next to him smiling and taking pictures like crazy I can't help but smile at how dynamic my family is and how Karlie's parents and sisters just fit into all the craziness. Looking towards the alter at Karlie who smiles from her position next to our Justice of the Peace who will conduct our service she mouths, "you look amazing." I smile at her and my eyes glisten for a second as I slow to a slower speed and when dad leads me to Karlie who comes and meets me to take my arm, I swoon. Karlie had sworn that she wasn't going all romantic today, that she would save it for ten years of marriage but the one thing that I've learnt with her since we got together is that she does what she wants, when she wants and never makes allowances so I should have known that her promise wouldn't stick for long. Our eyes meet and my legs feel weak but instead I force myself to focus in on what the Justice of the Peace is saying, I listen to her talk about love and support and the support that we have from our families. All too soon it's time for me to recite the small vows that I created and polished off just this morning. It's hard to believe that I'm about to recite vows to the love of my life but I'm so excited and so I just breathe in and out and look into Karlie's eyes and then start to speak. "I take you as you are, love who you are now and who you are yet to become. I promise to listen to you and learn from you, to support you and accept your support. I will celebrate your triumphs and mourn your losses as though they were my own. I will love you and have faith in your love for me, through all our years and all that life may bring us. I PROMISE to always trust I PROMISE to always trust you unconditionally and without hesitation, to respect you and work with you to foster and cherish our relationship as we build a life together as wife and wife. I KARLIE ELIZABETH KLOSS you are my best friend and I never want you to stop dreaming your wildest dreams so I will forever and always be by your side and I PROMISE to you today that I will care for you, stand beside you, and share with you all joys from this day forward, and for the rest of my life." I smile as I make my promise to always cherish my one true love.
Karlie's P.O.V
I watch Taylor give me the most powerful set of vows that I've ever heard and although I've witnessed her songwriting before this is different. Knowing elusively that words are written about you is totally different to knowing that someone has written vows about you, that they've taken time out of their day to make sure that you feel extra special. That's what I'm experiencing right now, and aside from the fact that Taylor is looking absolutely gorgeous in her custom gown that was created in Melbourne and my dress that was partly created in Toronto by my mom and then finished when she got out here over two months ago. At first it seemed weird for my family to all come out early but it turned into a massive road trip for them, they rented a car and became literal tourists, while dad drove mom would sit and pin the dress and by the time she came back a few weeks before the wedding she was ready to do a final fitting and it was perfect. A simple addition of lace and the dress was ready to go until mom decided to add in tulle too to make it a true puffy princess gown and I let her. As much as my wedding day was for me, it was for my mom who has supported me since I was thirteen and came out to her in the kitchen over a glass of milk and her chocolate chip cookies. It was a moment for us and ever since then I've always wanted her to be active in my wedding and it's a wedding that we both didn't think would happen, but then I met Taylor and we became close and now today, as in right now we are getting married.
The vows that Taylor read me almost made me cry but I'm very well aware of the vows that I have also created for her. With a shaky voice I say, "I Karlie, I promise to always be your biggest fan and your partner in crime. I promise to create and support a family with you, in a household filled with laughter, patience, understanding, and love. I vow not just to grow old together, but to grow together. I will love you faithfully through the difficult and the easy. What may come, I will always be there, each one believing that love never dies. As I have given you my hand to hold, so I give you my life to keep. I love all of your little quirks that would annoy any normal person before too long but our love journey has been long and we're not even halfway there yet so I've gotten used to the quirks especially because it means a lifetime with you. If someone asked me to describe what I love the most about you, I would find that difficult because to me you are unique, smart and definitely hot. I love you so much and I can't wait to spend the rest of our lives cherishing you the way that you deserve. I'll be your elusive Romeo for as long as my 'Juliet' needs me." I state with a flourish and as I look into Taylor's bright blue eyes all I see are dazzling eyes from her tears.
I aww her quietly and without waiting for the Justice of the Peace to tell me that I can kiss her I'm already there, lifting her veil over her head I pull her towards me and quickly dip her like the princess she is and as I go in I hear Taylor's feint voice saying, "is this a dream?" Our lips meet with all the precision and practice that we've been doing since we first kissed and it's magic, the world fades and I'm immune to the screams of our family and friends who are here to celebrate our marriage with us. I'm totally focused on the pink lips that belong to the woman who has changed my world and then as we pull apart I say, "no baby this is no dream. It's our reality." I see her smile and grin as the tears continue to travel down her face. As I pull her back up I decide to go all romantic and sweep her off her feet, within two seconds she is in her favourite place to be as I carry her towards the car that we arranged to take us to our photo destination. Over the rest of the day I think about how lucky I am to have found someone who understands me the way that Taylor does, it's hard to believe that our whole marriage and life together was made possible by tumblr and then made into a reality through the inventions of high class planes that are both comfortable and roomy during long journeys. But it will always be the journey that we took to get here which will be the most important and today I just can't think of anywhere else I'd rather be.
To be continued in part six, the final part.
