Taylor's P.O.V
It's been about six months since Karlie joined the bureau and since then we've been working hard at some situations and I think that we are finally ready to try a mission together so yesterday I called Troy James and told him that Karlie and I were ready to attempt a mission. He told me that he'd think about it and that if he has a mission come up he wants to give Karlie and I a chance. This morning when I was halfway through my workout I got a call from Troy, "morning Taylor. How are you today?" I stop my workout and slow the treadmill to a walk pace.
"I'm great thanks Troy, how are things with you?" He responds that he's great and we quickly skim over all of the formalities as he states, "I've got a mission for you and Karlie can you both be in the office by 9.00am today?" I look at my watch and see its 7.30am,
"Yeah I can be but I'm not sure about Karlie and at this time she's probably in the pool swimming, do you want me to call her?" I question as I step down once the machine beeps and I grab my towel and drink bottle. "Yeah that would be great." He states as I nod and confirm that I will call Karlie before we hang up. As I walk into the showers and go to unlock my locker I start to fish around for my shower gel and towel and then I hear a voice from behind me. "Morning partner, how are we today?" I turn around and see Karlie dripping wet towel drying her hair. I smile at her, just a small smile. "Troy wants us in the office at 9.00am, something about a mission, this could be our first one." I state as Karlie grins excitedly.
"Wow that sounds amazing, I can't wait to see what the mission is." I look at her and grin while I nod. "I agree, it sounds great so how about breakfast and coffee and then we can go and hear this mission," I suggest as Karlie nods and walks over to her locker and begins to pull her gym clothes out and we both dress silently and head out to our newest local café that we love to venture to.
When we finally reach the office and we walk through the foyer giggling like school girls I laugh at the receptionist Sonia that was rude to Karlie on her first day. Walking into Troy's office we greet him and then sit back down in front of him to listen to what Troy has to say. He hangs up from his phone call and looks at us, "morning ladies, ready for your first task as a team?" I nod and can see Karlie nodding too. "Great, that's good to hear." He states as he collects a folder from behind him. "So we've got this case of a drug ring at the local high school and our idea is to send both of you into the school undercover, Taylor you have your background in music from your college days so you'll be a music teacher and Karlie you'll go in as a gym teacher. It shouldn't be a long mission we really only need you both to do some snooping around and report back to us. We will do all the hard stuff with a team here in the bureau so you don't need to worry about that." I nod and as I look at Karlie she too nods. "Sure that sounds good when do we start?" I question.
"Well we'd like you to both start on Monday, so you've got the weekend to prepare." I look at Karlie and nod, "sure that sounds good." I say as Troy hands Karlie the briefing folder.
Karlie's P.O.V
I've spent all weekend with Taylor, but that's nothing uncommon. Ever since I met her it's been lots of breakfasts at either of our houses or a meal out. Last weekend we went to the movies and saw the latest Bridget Jones' Baby movie that everyone has been raving about, Taylor more than anyone due to Mr McSteamy from Grey's Anatomy being in the movie. This weekend we were preparing for our mission and so we spent time getting to know our new roles that we will play during this mission.
When we arrive at Dove High on Monday morning I have to laugh at us, I'm dressed in a tracksuit which feels weird from the pantsuit that I've been wearing since working at the bureau but as I look at Taylor I can't help but feel a hot flush all over my body. Taylor is wearing the tightest jeans and sweater combination that I've ever seen in my life. She looks so damn good, I can't even believe it. As we walk into school and arrive at the office the principal Mr Ines, Jack Ines. Greets us with gusto obviously happy that we are there to help him. "Morning agents, and yes I said agents..." he states shutting his office door. "Only I know exactly who you are and so I will allow you both to investigate where you need to, you have my full support and the bureau has my full cooperation as they are aware that they have." Both Taylor and I nod as Mr Ines then stands and proceeds to show us out of the office and says, "well let's get you both sorted. Now I'm aware that you need to communicate with each other and so your classrooms are on the lower story of the main building and Miss Kloss your classroom is the outside one located at the end of the corridor and Miss Swift your classroom is on the left hand side."
"That sounds perfect," I say as we are shown to our classrooms but when Mr Ines leaves I feel slightly awkward. I say goodbye to Taylor with the intention of seeing her later in the day but as the day moves on and I start teaching classes and training the football team in the weights room during lunch. It was a busy day but as I exit out of the classroom and into the corridor I see Taylor also exiting her room. "Hey stranger..." I call out making her turn around.
"Karlie..." she states coming towards me. I hold out my arms and we hug like normal and as we walk out of the high school and towards Taylor's car and she drives me home before she goes home. I offer her dinner but she refuses. Later that night I get a call from Troy James. "Hey Karlie, how was your first day?" He questions.
"It was great, I think I'm going to enjoy it. Seems to be a great school so I'm a little confused as to why we are even investigating this school because all the kids seem like good kids, so it's hard to imagine that the school is riddled with drugs," I state sadly thinking about all the dedicated athletes that I had seen today. "I know Kloss, but sadly at least four of the athletes that you saw today varsity or no will be involved in this drug ring and we need to crush it to save someone else from falling victim to it." I nod agreeing and when we hang up several minutes later I decide that I will be even more vigilant at school than I had planned to be.
It's nearly two months before Taylor and I start to see any rewards for our efforts. We've been watching two kids, one in my gym class and one in Taylor's music class. The boy, Todd and start varsity athlete and Tabitha a saxophone player to what Taylor and I can see they are both pretty heavily involved in each other and in this drug ring. We've been told that they are top suspects and that action will be taken in the next few days so to celebrate, Taylor and I have decided to celebrate tonight with drinks. We go out to the bar that we are venturing to a lot, it's called Smithersons and it's one of the top bars in Washington DC. "Well I think that this was a success!" Taylor celebrates downing her shot of Grey Goose. I smile at her eagerness and sip at my gin and tonic. "I think you need to settle down a bit there partner," I comment making Taylor laugh and giggle like a kid. "Never you mind Karlie, I'm fine..." she states making me smile because I know that it's so far from the truth and three hours later I'm proved right when she latches herself onto me in a drunken hug and presses a chaste kiss to my cheek, her hands move freely as she cuddles into me and I catch a whiff of her strong orange blossom shampoo. She smells delicious and it makes me wonder if she's actually gay or whether she just has a flirty nature but as I tuck her into the spare room in my apartment I have to smile because although I don't have Taylor Swift in my bed, I do have her under my roof and for right now that's enough. This mission was a great first mission and we got a lot closer as friends and although it only makes me like her more it also puts me firmly in her life and cements me as a great friend, I'm only hopeful that this is the start of a beautiful and strong partnership.
