Part Five: 1989

"No stop Tay, we need to stop..." Karlie states as she pulls away from our kiss and rolls me to my side. I land with an oomph, and look at Karlie, not believing that after all this time she is giving up making out with me. "What is it..." I state exasperated. Karlie rolls over and looks down at me, her fingers raking through my loose hair. "We need to go on some dates before we get to this." She states, "what do you mean? Do you not want us to kiss?" I question looking at her, but then rising to sit up straight. "It's not that I don't want us to kiss, I've been waiting for years for us to kiss again. But I don't want us to rush, I want us to take our time. For us to be together forever. So Taylor Alison Swift, will you please go on a date with me?" Karlie questions.
"I-I uhm, of course I will go on a date with you." I squeal and launch back into Karlie's arms longing for that day when we can freely kiss and lounge with each other. I'm startled when Karlie moves and sits up right. "Where are you off to?" I question as she stands, looks at me and offers a hand which I take willingly, because why not? "We're going on a date babe so grab your coat." I do as she say and we run from the house together, giggling like we are back in high school as we run down the street towards the local café. Walking down the street I cautiously reach out and grab for Karlie's hand, she glances at our swinging hands and smiles a little, but as we walk into the shop she drops it. Intending to instead order our coffee, but I don't let her. When we pause in front of the register she looks at me and I take her hand, the girl on the register smiles at us and as we order our coffee to go she smiles at us again and says. "You make a lovely couple."
'Cause we're young and we're reckless

And I'll write your name
"No Karlie, I can't live with you. It's way too soon. It hasn't been long enough..." I state through the phone as I glance around my new apartment that I've lived in for only a month. In the time that's passed since we went on our first date, we've had two date nights a week. One for dinner dates and the other for a social event such as the movies or once we played mini golf. "Taylor, you can't live in a ratty old apartment while your building is being redone. I know the landlord had mentioned there would be a little construction done but damn Tay, he's completely re-doing it." I sigh as I rearrange myself on the bed. "I know Karlie, but I can't help that he changed his mind. I just need somewhere else, I really don't want to have to live with my parents again." I can hear Karlie chuckle from the other side of the phone. "Well you know you can come and live with me right," I laugh at her but she doesn't laugh or say anything and that's when I realise that she's actually serious. "Karlie I love you very much, but I can't." She hums through the phone in acknowledgement and then says, "I understand babe. Want me to help you search for apartments, I can come by tomorrow after the bar." I nod and look at my clock, seeing it's nearly 11pm I say. "Sure that sounds awesome, I finish at 6pm tomorrow so I'll be home after that. I think I have a few weeks to find something." Karlie starts to speak but I'm not listening so I have to ask her to repeat it. "I said, that's fine. I should be done around 8pm so maybe you can come by the bar and we can sit upstairs and talk." I feel myself nod and we make a plan.
