Taylor's P.O.V

Sitting in the dressing room of the Ellen show and I'm a little bit nervous, I don't have any idea why I'm nervous but it could be to do with the fact that the last time I was on the show in 2014 Ellen made fun of me for being afraid to swim in the sea and now for some reason I just feel nervous. Glancing periodically at my phone I'm expecting it to ring any second but to my surprise it's not. A faint knock on the door can be heard as Tree walks into the room causing me to look up but she doesn't say anything except sit down on the couch opposite me and we wait. We've grown so close that we don't have to talk at all which is great because I'm left alone with my thoughts when I need to be and other times Tree can be a great source of distracting me. Today is one of the distraction days. "Have you heard from her?" Tree questions as I glance at my phone again. I shake my head and say "no and to be honest it worries me. She has been constantly calling lately, just so clingy and I kind of miss it." Tree nods as if she understands but I know that a workaholic like Tree doesn't understand family or any type of family commitments outside the ones her family forces on her every year at Christmas, Thanks-Giving and Easter and that's fine with me, Tree sometimes can be found at my family gathering trying to ensure things go well. "Well call her then." Tree states as if it's an obvious choice. I glance at the countdown clock and see I have ten minutes so I grab my phone, dialling a familiar number I am shocked when no-one answers it. Tree must have seen my face and quickly calls security who answer straight away. "Where's Karlie guys?" she questions as I hang up and listen to her talking with my security at the house. "Oh when did she leave?" Tree looks at me and smiles and I know it's all okay. "Good text me when she's back so I can get mommy here to stop worrying before she makes mama Karlie worry." The security guy must have made a funny statement as Tree laughs and then hangs up. I'm sitting waiting as Tree gets off the phone and says, "baby yoga with her trainer," I breathe a sigh of relief and Tree laughs as I turn to her and say,  "I'm becoming my wife aren't I?" Tree nods and for the rest of the time we discuss random points where Karlie has been worried heaps.

Three Months Pregnant:

"What if eating that harms the baby Taylor?" Karlie questions eyeing the tofu salad that I made her. Sighing I walk over to her bringing the tofu container. "Karlie, I got this out of the health friendly aisle at the supermarket after checking with your obstetrician to make sure that you can eat this, which you can it has no soy so you're good." I watch Karlie nod and take a bite to eat before moaning in satisfaction. To say that Karlie handles being told what to do well is an understatement, from the minute we found out at six weeks that Karlie was pregnant she has been super obsessive about what she eats and even more clingy than usual, she normally rings me twice a day if I'm away but lately it's been up to six times before lunchtime. I get that she is worried because there are a million and one things that can go wrong in a pregnancy but for some reason Karlie seems to be holding the idea that she is the only woman to have ever experienced pregnancy before and of course when I talk to my mom or Karlie's mom Tracy about it they laugh while my dad and Karlie's dad Kurt say it will get worse before it gets better. I can't wait to see what the baby will become because we have no preference. Karlie wants to have a little girl who looks similar to me and one that she can come home to after a long day and see cuddled up with me reading a book but I would love a little man to dress up like I often dress my god-son Leo up. He just goes with it and lets me do it so I think a boy would be great plus it's one person for Karlie to introduce football too because I'm not a football fan at all but I suffer though for Karlie.

Five Months Pregnant:

I'm rushing out the door trying to get to a meeting with Tree to discuss publicity relations for after the baby is born but as I sit on the side of the bed and lean over to kiss Karlie she latches onto me and won't let go. I attempt to bribe her with foot rubs and back massages when I'm home but she looks at me as if to say 'really, you'll do that anyway.' Which is true but I have no idea why she is acting like this. "Karlie I really have to go, you know I hate being late." Karlie turns on her perfected puppy pout and says, "but I need you." I'm generally patient but Karlie is beginning to get on my nerves, from 6.00am this morning she was complaining about how she couldn't get comfortable, then she was cold, then too hot and now she is just clingy. I've gotten her some crackers to nibble on because she still suffers from morning sickness some days or just times when she eats something our baby doesn't agree with. I think she is horrified that the baby isn't a fan or spinach or kale which means they may not like it when they are born but thankfully seem to like most other things, especially ice-cream. "Why do you need me Karls?" I question as I smooth her hair back because she is still resting in bed. She shrugs her shoulders at me but continues to pout making me lean down and kiss her although aware that I am wasting time, but I still don't rush her. She sits up and latches onto me like the koala bear she teases me that I am. I return the hug happily as I run my fingers up and down her back trying to get her to relax and it works because she lies back and just stares at me, playing with my fingers. "Babe?" I question again already aware that I will be running late because of this and I am losing my patience. Karlie looks up at me with her huge green eyes and I notice them change instantly when she looks at me. "Never mind, go to your meeting. I'll see you later on I guess." I try to speak to her again but she just rolls over and I decide to leave her, I'd already read about emotional days and I imagined this was the beginning of one, and although I didn't want to leave her I had to. She called me less than ten minutes later apologizing for being a rude hormonal bitch and we laughed together for the duration of the car ride before I had to go and she got clingy again. "When will you be back?"
"I don't know once the meeting is over I guess."
"Oh okay, so an hour or so?" She questioned I sighed really having no idea.
"Uhm I guess so. Is that okay?" She grunts and I take it as a yes. "I have to go now babe. Talk later." We hang up and the entire meeting I'm thinking about her and it's then that I decide to be more accommodating to her needs considering she is pregnant with our baby.

Ellen Show:

"Thank-you for having me Ellen..."
"You're most welcome, Taylor Swift-Kloss everybody." The crowd yells in appreciation of me being here. It had been a wonderful interview mostly talking about Karlie and I and discussing how excited I was to be becoming a mom at 29. But considering all of mine and Karlie's friends were already having kids it wasn't too long to wait compared to them. I was barely off the stage when Tree rushed up to me. "Taylor we have to go that was security. Karlie's gone into labour." My mind jump as my heart lurches. "No it's too early she's not eight months yet." Rushing out to the waiting SUV that will take me to my love I try to calm down, realising that me being freaked out won't help her at all right now. "Does the other car have everything?" I question looking around me at Tree and my guards plus including my driver Tom. "Yes Taylor, the other car has the car seat, baby bag, hospital bag plus an overnight bag for Karlie and one for you too. Your mom is coming to town and will take care of the cats overnight and Tracy is coming in the morning with Kurt. Your dad has to work and will be here as soon as he can and the others are going to wait until the baby is born." Listening to everyone reel off what they have and what they don't makes me feel better because I can relax and not worry about things. I turn to Tree excited beyond belief, "it's happening." She nods and states. "Yes it is."

A few hours pass as Karlie gets settled into her room in maternity. The doctors have told us she is in early labour and after an ultrasound we are told the baby is engaged in the right position and ready to go. They state that the baby must have dropped and has used up all the room. I look at Karlie's stomach and decide that this makes sense because Karlie is taller and the baby probably has more room inside than what we can see. This doesn't stop me from freaking out a little but seeing Karlie experience little contractions and pouting and clinging to me when I wanted to blow my nose is a clear indication of the clinginess to come. She is strong and isn't wincing at the contractions but she is scared and that's why she is clingy. As the contractions grow closer together Karlie's clinginess increases to the point that I had to wrench my hand away to resisit sneezing on her hand. She probably wouldn't have cared I mean, we are married and such but still it's gross. After massive pouts I retake her hand in time for the first pushes to happen. It takes nearly an hour for the baby's head to emerge and another five minutes of intense pushes for the head to be out. Tears stream down my face as I watch Karlie birth our first child. "Wow." I state as the doctor pulls the baby out, up and places onto Karlie's exposed chest. Karlie sighs and all of a sudden drops my hand and is more concerned about the baby. "Congratulations you two a beautiful baby boy." Karlie looks at me. "Babe just what you wanted." I nod and move to see him as the doctors prepare to deliver the placenta. Just as the nurses take our son to be weighed, measured and tested Karlie latches onto my hand again. "Shit!" I squeal as she grips it tight.
"What the hell is that?" Karlie questioned looking at me before we both look at the doctor. The doctor lifts the sheet. "I can see another head." I look at Karlie in shock. Twins?
"What do you mean you see another head?" I question as Karlie moans and begins to push a little. "That's it Karlie go again at the next contraction." My mind is buzzing and I can't believe it but as I lean down I'm quick enough to see a tiny baby girl born. Compared to her brother she is tiny and as she lies on Karlie's chest she cries until I touch her fingers and then she's quiet. "Mommy's girl." Karlie states looking at her before she too is taken away. "Wow!" I state when they are taken for monitoring in NICU to check their lungs. I turn to Karlie, "what do we call them?" Karlie looks at me, "Let's use the names we wanted, except now we have to use both." I nod my head and a few hours later when the nurses bring them back swaddled in a blanket each and asleep she asks for their names. Handing over their birth certificates she smiles. "They're nice names ladies. I'll leave you guys for now." We smile and nod but are busy admiring our babies. "Welcome to the world Kayden Tyler Swift-Kloss and Scarlett Anna Swift-Kloss." Karlie states looking at them as I reach in to scoop up Scarlett who is beginning to move around. "So fussy baby," I coo at her as she manages to free her arm and when I offer my finger she latches her tiny hand onto it. "Oooh and clingy like mama too..." I tease looking at Karlie and wondering what I ever did to deserve such wonder despite the clingy wife along the way.
