Taylor's P.O.V

It's a beautiful spring day when I decide to take a walk down the pier with my younger brother Austin. I watch as Austin runs forward with his football that he's been carting around all day. "Be careful." I warn as he rushes forward but I notice that he turns to face me and nods but no sooner does he turn around and face the road again tossing his football up and down does it slip through his fingers and tumble down over the edge of the pier. "Oh no! Taylor." Austin cries and I look up from my book that I had been reading to see Austin practically trying to disappear over the side of the pier. "Austin! Don't you dare. Mom will kill us both." I shout rushing towards him, but just as Austin stands up and looks at me with big tears running down his face a splash occurs from my right hand side and as I look over the edge I see that someone has reached the football and is now making their way towards the ladder so that they can climb up it.

When I reach Austin and see that he's really upset about it. "Oh Austin, it's okay. We can get you another one if you want." I say trying to pacify him. The person who jumped in the water appears behind me and speaks, "I believe this is yours buddy," I turn around at the sound of a softer voice than what I would usually expect to hear. But instead of seeing a man or at least a teenage boy instead I see a girl, a tall lanky girl with brilliant green eyes and a shortened cropped hairstyle. "Oh hi, thank-you." I state as I take the football back and hand it to Austin who looks up at the woman like she is some type of super hero. "You're welcome." I nod at her as we stand there together and it's slightly awkward. "Sorry, I'm Taylor. Taylor Swift." I state holding my hand out to her, she pushes it aside and hugs me. "I'm Karlie, Karlie Kloss." She states and I gasp at how cold her body is and now mine is cold too. "Oh crap, I'm so sorry." She states pulling back from me and giving me a sheepish look. "Oh my god! I'm soaked, oh look what you've done." I state pulling away and taking three steps backwards. "Come on Austin, we've got to go." I state dragging Austin with me. I turn and watch Karlie as we walk off the pier and towards the house that we are staying in with my parents.

A few hours later I'm relaxing in the front room of the house when a knock on the door sounds. Marlee our maid answers the door and then asks for the person to wait there. It takes me less than ten seconds to come to the door as Marlee enters into the sitting room. "Miss Swift, there is someone here for you." I look at her and nod while closing my book and standing up.
"Okay, I'll be right there." I state as she nods and informs the person at the door and as I pass Marlee on my way to the door I see through the screen door that the person is a young woman. Walking closer I recognize the size and shape as the woman from this morning, "hi there." I state as she looks at me. "Oh thank god, I didn't know if this was the right place or not but I took a guess and here I am." I nod and look her up and down, I had no idea that even in jeans rolled up and a pair of canvas shoes on her feet while wearing a tank top and a plaid shirt overtop that and as I look into her eyes she says. "I guess, I just wanted to say that I was sorry. You seemed upset earlier and I just wanted to apologise to you. So I'm sorry." She states as she shuffles from foot to foot. "It's fine, more than okay." I say as she continues to shuffle around on the deck outside the door. "Well that's kind of you, how about a lunch to make up for it, say now?" I look at her in shock as she looks at me with a large smile on her face. "Lunch..." I stutter as Karlie nods. "Yes, do you have any plans?" she questions as I shake my head and look at her, she nods her head and gestures over her shoulder and without wasting any time I move back into the house and yell. "I'm going out. See you all later." I nod at Marlee who is near me and she says that she will tell my mom and dad. I nod and rush out the door where Karlie is waiting.

Karlie's P.O.V

Walking down the street towards the diner that I'm a frequent guest to with Taylor beside me I can't help but grin. It's no secret in our small town in Rhode Island that I'm a lesbian and everyone accepts it but I can't help but feel that Taylor has no idea that I'm really inviting her to dinner because I really like her. "So do you know your way around here well?" Taylor questions as we walk along. I nod at her, "yeah you could say that, this is my home town." I state as we enter into the small diner. "That's so cool it must have been nice to grow up by the ocean like this." I nod at her,
"Yeah it was great and this is my favourite diner in Watch Hill so I wanted to bring you here so you could experience it." I see her nod and as we enter and Lou greets me in her familiar wave I smile. "Welcome to heaven Taylor, I hope you like it." I see her look around in awe and then settle her eyes on one of the many booths here, it doesn't take me long to lead her over and ensure that she's settled with a menu, and when Amy arrives to take our order she shocks me by ordering a root beer and a large beef burger with fries and no salad. I must have looked at her in shock as she says, "what even city slickers have to eat a decent meal," I nod and order the same thing and we both sit and wait with a large smile on our faces.

The hours fly past as we talk and chatter like old friends, I start to learn more about Taylor and where she comes from, she tells me about her life in New York and I tell her about life in Rhode Island. Before I know it it's been three hours and we're still in the diner, they keep bringing us refills on our root beer and because I know the people who own this business the refills are free. "How about a walk on the beach?" I question and I love how Taylor's face lights up and we move towards the beach. It's nice when less than an hour after stepping foot on the beach we are sitting down and as the sun starts to set and the lights dim and turn pink I turn and look at Taylor and she looks at me and as I look at her and see the last of today's light fading in her eyes I say, "I'd really like to do this again Taylor." She smiles at me and nods,
"That sounds great, maybe a walk tomorrow." She questions looking at me and as I smile she nods back and says, "great that sounds amazing." I can't help but smile as later when I drop her home and we start making plans to meet up tomorrow about 10.00am. As I walk home I smile at the fact that I will be spending more time with Taylor tomorrow and that brings a larger smile to my face. Hopefully after spending more time together I will be able to get a read on whether or not she likes me and if so how much she does and whether she is interested in spending more time together.
