Taylor's P.O.V

High School:

"Okay mom, I'm leaving now..." I call leaving the kitchen and reaching the backdoor before I'm stopped. "Wait a minute Taylor, you haven't eaten breakfast yet. Just catch the bus to school." I shake my head, "no I need to get some exercise in so I'm gonna walk, I'll grab something at school or on the way, maybe a coffee at Starbucks." I state as mom nods at me.
"Okay if you're sure, you've been getting early starts at school lately is everything going okay?" I nod at mom's statement, "yeah I'm good just getting exercise in and getting a head start." I state leaving the house and starting my walk to school. I'm less than a block away from school when I push my glasses up onto my face and all of a sudden a shadow looms in my face. "Swift!" a voice booms and makes me shudder and as I look up I'm not surprised to see Karlie Kloss towering over me like she normally does. "Karlie..." I mutter looking down at the ground like I usually do, "Where are you going weirdo?" Cara states stepping out from the side like she usually does and giving me firm shove which sends me sprawling into the grass, I must admit that they always make sure that when they bully me or push me around that I always land on a soft surface that way there are no bruises that I can use to prove that they've even bullied me. "Why can't you just leave me alone," I whisper as I try to push myself back up to my feet.
"Just stay down weirdo, or should we call your dad?" Karlie questions as I look up at her feeling my eyes burn with tears, "...oh wait no we can't because your dad is dead." She states as my mouth drops open in horror, wondering how someone can be so cruel especially about something that they have no idea what they're talking about. I watch from the ground as both Cara and Karlie walk off laughing like they always do and as I stand up it hits me that I don't have to take this crap anymore. My GPA is more than adequate for me to miss a few days, so instead of walking towards school I walk towards home once more. But the moment that I step through the front door I realise that I had forgotten that today is Thursday and that means that mom is actually home today and I unfortunately have grass stains on my jeans.

Walking into the foyer if the house I realise that it's too late to back out of the house. "Taylor, is that you?" mom questions walking into the foyer, she takes one look at my grass stained legs and comes to me immediately so when my eyes suddenly brim with tears. "Oh Taylor, baby what is it?" And suddenly before I can do anything about it everything comes out, first about dad and the way that I've been feeling since he died of cancer three months ago and then about how Karlie has been bullying me since Freshman year of high school but that it's gotten worse since dad died. We spend ages talking and agree that I can spend the remainder of the year in home school and start fresh at college in the fall. By the time that mom and I finish talking and mom has phoned the school to have all my work put through a home school program so that I can get my high school diploma and then move onto college.

Seven Years Later...

Karlie's P.O.V

"...and that's what you should now do if someone attempts to bully you. Use your WITS. That's all, have a wonderful day guys and girls." I state proudly to the room full of lawyers. They clap politely but my mind is stuck on the beautiful blonde haired woman at the back of the room. Her blue eyes really resonate with me but it's not only the look on her face but also the look of utter disgust as I discuss the reasons behind anti-bullying in the workplace. As I step down from the platform that has been installed obviously for this presentation and as Mr Shams approaches me with his hand extended I smile and offer mine as well. "Great presentation Miss Kloss, I'm so pleased that you were recommended to us for this reason. We have had many college graduates join us in the last few years and it's nice that they know that they don't have to put up with bullying while they are at work. So thank-you for coming today, it's been a pleasure."
"Oh no worries, the pleasure was all mine Mr Shams, it was great." I state shaking hands with him as the rest of the staff move to the conference room so that we can have a lunch for everyone and before I spoke today Mr Shams invited me to stay too so I've decided to do that.

As we start to eat our lunch there are several people who come up to me and introduce themselves, but that one woman, the scowling one from the back of the presentation is here too. She sits alone and her dress fills her nicely and it makes me think about this girl that I once knew the way that she sits with such a straight back and all. But my thoughts are interrupted by people continuously coming up to me to talk to me. But as the lunch comes to an end and the room begins to empty I spot that one woman isolated at her table, seeing a chance I walk briskly over towards her and sit down. She looks up and her eyes stop me in my place as I hold out my hand and say, "hi my name is Karlie, Karlie Kloss." I watch as her eyes open wide and then she sits up and says, "I know I saw you speak before. I'm Taylor, Taylor Swift." She states as she looks at me. I smile at her, "well it's very nice to meet you. Did you enjoy the presentation?" I question cockily. She smirks at me and I expect her to say yes but instead she says, "it's a bit rich that you of all people is lecturing others about this topic, isn't it Kloss..." After saying what she does she stands up and walks out of the room and it's in that moment I realise why I recognized her before, it was Taylor Swift, the same Taylor Swift that Cara and I would regularly bully for no real reason. Without wasting any time I quickly stand and move after her. Taylor doesn't even get to the door before I've got her cornered.

"Hey, Taylor..." I say making her visibly flinch and so I pull backwards and say, "shit I'm sorry..." Taylor turns to me and as quick as lightening she say, "You're sorry. Sorry for what? Bullying me throughout high school or coming to my place of work and speaking to us about not bullying in the workplace when you were a Class A bully less than ten years ago." I flinch,
"Okay you're right, I was a bitch to you. Cara and I were both bullies to you but you've got to understand that I've changed. I'm not the same person I was in high school anymore and it's not fair for you to expect that I've not changed. You've changed..." I state as my eyes roam her body, that tight and fit body. "It's not fair for me Karlie? I think that you're wrong there. I may have changed since high school but that doesn't give you permission to assume that I'm going to forgive you. It's simply not going to happen..." She states before brushing past me and rushing out the door not even stopping when a colleague calls out to her. That's when I finally see that there are always going to be things from my past that are not so rosy and that sometimes there are things that you do to people that can't be taken back or apologized for especially when the act is something as cruel as I was when I was bullying Taylor in high school.

It was after Taylor left high school that I saw how cruel things had become over the past few years of school but now seeing her reaction to even seeing me in person makes me aware of the fact that even after all these years since bullying Taylor it's easy to see the anger and the pent up anger that surrounds Taylor and regardless of the fact that I want to fix what happened between Taylor and I, I know that it's not going to be easy. So instead I settle for a simple business card and a letter on her door. I hope that she will get the letter and then she will use the business card to contact me, so I suppose it's up to her now. I made a mistake bullying her when I was younger but hopefully I will be able to explain things to her and maybe we can try to be friends but I'm not sure it's possible. This tells me that bullying can leave long lasting scars and that once those scars exist it's hard to get rid of them or learn to accept them.
