I miss my mommy

-Chris's POV-
My eyes flickered open,
It was now sunrise,
The ground was cold, and we were covered in dead leaves,
I lay flat on the ground looking up to the trees,
I felt Madelyn on my chest, curled up into a ball shivering,
I looked up at her,
"Chwis? Oh my I is so so sowwy," she said crying lightly touching my face with her little hands,
"Hey now, shh shh Im Alright Maddy, it's alright" I said scooping her up and rocking her back and forth calming her down,
She sniffled, and closed her eyes snuggling into my shirt, I wiped her tears,
"What were you doing out here anyways?" I said brushing her hair from her face,
"I had a nightmare" she whispered her eyes still closed.
I stopped rocking back and forth,
"What about?"
She looked up sadly and looked down,
"Mommy wasn't feeling well, s..she wasn't breathing" she said with her eyes closed,
"Wait I thought your mommy wasn't nice with you"
"She is"
"Well, during the day, but it was mommy's boyfwiend who was nasty to me" she said yawning,
My grasp tightened round her holding her closer,
I sighed and rested my chin on her little head,
We sat silently in the cold,
A little cry of pain came out of Madelyn's mouth,
I looked at her,
" what's wrong where are you hurt?"
"My ankle hurts"
I lifted her bare foot that was badly bruised,
"Come on let's get you inside and I'll fix you up alright?"
She nodded,
I took her inside and sat her on the kitchen counter,
"Is it sore when I do this?" I said Turning her ankle in circles gently,
She winced and bit her hands nodding,
"Right, well it's definitely sprained, we will have to put a support on it and rest it up"
She nodded, I hugged her and carried her back to bed,
"Please don't do that again Maddy, okay? It's dangerous and I do t want you running off, next time wake me up alright?"
"I'm sowwy Chwis"
"That's okay, it's okay," I smiled kissing her temple,
I tucked her under the covers and feel back asleep,
It was silent,
"Chwis"
"Mmm?" I said my eyes still closed,
"I miss my mommy" she whispered,
I grabbed her hand and held it tight,
" I'm gonna get things sorted Madelyn, I promise, now  try and get some sleep alright?"
"Okay, but Chwis?"
"Yes?"
"Can I has a cuddle" 
I smiled
"Come here you," I said
She snuggled into my side resting her head on my chest as she fell into a deep sleep.
