-Chris's POV-
- a week later-
"Madelyn! Lunch time!" I yelled at the gate entrance to the woods.
I heard her little feet come running through the fallen leaves,
She ran into me hugging my legs,
"Ooh your pretty strong for a little thing like you" I smiled taking her hand,
"Hey I'm not wittle" she said crossing her arms,
"Nope your as tall as me" I smiled putting her on my shoulders as her hands flying in the air as she giggled
"Weee! Chwis go faster?!"
I grinned and ran back to the house,
I put her down and she sat up on the table and ate her burger,
The phone went off,
"Hello?"
"Hello, am I right to believe you were there the day that Laura marsh took her own life?"
"Yes?"
"We have inspected her old house and have some items that have been left behind, like clothes and home items, I contacted you first as the rest of the family live far away,"

I looked over at Maddy who handed a bit of her burger meat to banshee who sat nice for a treat,
"Alright Thankyou but what's the address"
"I'll text you it,"
"Okay Thankyou"

I got the address and kissed maddy's cheek,
She blushed and smiled,
"Madelyn, your mother's house is being cleaned and we have been invited to see it,"
"Otay, but Chwis, "
"Yeah"
"Keep smiling okay?"
I frowned, "okay?"
What was that all about?
I picked her up and I tied her shoe laces,
We headed out not long after,
I drove to the house which was a small house,
I headed inside the cold building and it hit me.
Stains on the walls, floor boards that would give you splinters if you walked on them with no shoes,
Old syringes and drug related items all over the tables,
Broken alcohol bottles, some covered in blood,
I gulped and looked over at Madelyn,
She looked round the house innocently,
I took her little hand and rubbed it.
"Can I show you my room?" She smiled
"Y-yeah" I smiled,
She took my hand and we headed up stairs,
It was a small pink room,
The walls had cracks in it and in the corner of the room, there was a mass of black, like the face had been like, burned?
The window was boarded up with wood, and the room was freezing,
The bed was used as a insulation next to the window to stop the drafts coming in
"I never sweeped in this cause the springs used to cut me and it hurted, the bed was broken" she said poking it,
"So I slept here" she smiled and pointed to the floor which had a dirty sheet and a pillow,
"W..what happened here?" I said looking over to the burt part of the room,
"John came into the room drunk one night while I was asleep and he was smoking and put down his cigarette on the table, he stilled his alcohol and the curtain caught on fire,"
She nodded,
I put my arm round her small frame rubbing her little back,
"Chwis, can I go outside, I dint wike it here"
"Okay but stay in the back yard okay?"
"Otay"
I walked around some more,
And I found a leather belt,
Which was stained with dry blood,
I knew exactly who's blood that was.
I stood back up looking around as tears pricked my eyes,
I threw down the belt,
"Fuck! Why her?!"
I contained myself and walked over the house I didn't really want to take anything cause I, not related and well- Maddy can take some items if she wants to but I feel like I don't have the right so I'll pass.
I headed up to the attic,
This was the place where she would be locked up in if she was bad,
I opened the door and headed up the steps,
I used my phone as a light and noticed little pictures and words scratched into the wood,
The whole attic was covered in phrases like,
I'm sorry I was bad daddy,
Don't hurt mommy it was my fault
Im sorry I cried
I'm sorry I annoyed you
I will be quiet forever,
The one that cut me deep however was the one that was carved onto a small wardrobe at the back of the attic

Sully take me away,
The little girl thought that the blue monster from monsters inc would save her from the cruel world.
I think I am that monster.
