My Fault

"Maddy!!!"
"Madelyn!"
"Maddy darling!" Screamed Chris,
Dylan, floss and Chris were all spread out across the dark woods.
The snow was as heavy as ever and it was difficult for any of the, to see.
Madelyn lay on the ground, the snow covering her scarred back.
Tears melted the ice which scraped her cheek.
She had fallen.
She was walking through the snow until her legs collapsed.
And she fell down a lands slide and landed on her front.
Her shoulder is dislocated so she was unable to move,
The damp and cold was shattering her lungs.
She knew she was close to death if she wasn't found soon.
She mourned for Chris.

-Chris's POV-

I ran though the snow and I paused at the sight that I have been longing to see.
My little girl.
I dropped to my knees and crawled over to her rapidly.
I took her hand and she whimpered snd latched onto my arm,
I bring her torso into my arms, her legs were just hanging loosely under her hips like she had no energy at all,
I lifted her head to see her eyes closed, the only indication I had to show that she was still alive was her shivering body that shook like crazy in my arms.
I heard a rustle in the bushes and looked over to see Dylan coming close.
"Shit is she okay-
"Dylan call a fucking ambulance!!" I yelled,
I saw floss come over and drop to her knees.
"Maddy oh my god Maddy" she sobbed.
"No no no baby stay awake for me" I shook my head,
She never moved, her  body was just lifeless.
I heard sirens coming towards us. I remained, eyes shut, my head burrowed into her neck, hugging her tightly like a bear.
I felt Maddy be taken from me and into the ambulance.
Floss remained in tears, holding her hand as she sat next to Madelyn who was lying motionless in the hospital bed.
Me and Dylan sat opposite each other in the ambulance, staring at each other dead in the eye.
His eyes were blood shot and covered with black circles. As were mine.
We weren't happy with each other at all. And I want fucking answers.
The ambulance stopped,
I headed into the hospital and spoke with the doctor as she was taken into care.
"She will be alright, we just need a session of chemo straight away and we will see what needs to be done from there, it may take an hour or so but just bare with us"
I nodded and looked over at Dylan,
"Can I have a word"
He nodded and we headed outside,
"Listen Chris if your blaming this on me then-
I grabbed him by the shoulders and pushed him against the wall.
"I do know what the fuck your playing at but I wanna know right fucking now" I beamed
"Oh so now it's my fault is it"
"If you didn't keep your little mouth shut then we wouldn't be in this mess!" I spat,
"I didn't do anything!"
"You yeah? Explain to me why the hell floss said that you mentioned her scars"
"I- I didn't mean what I said I wasn't thinking straight-
"Damn well you weren't, you have no fucking idea where she is from! Where she has been and what's she's seen so don't play the that game with me"
" I didn't mean anything by it"
"If it wasn't for you, my little girl wouldn't be risking her life right now, she wouldn't be dying if you didn't let her go out!"
"Oh?! You sure!  Cause she's been coughing up blood waaaayy longer than what you've known and she didn't tell shit to you cause she is so god damn scared out her mind that you'll lash out on her like all those other times!" He snapped back,
"I'm going home, atleast I like her admits its cancer and no one else."
He pushed passed me and left at once.
I let out a breathe and decided to get some coffee. I need to clear my head.

-Dylan's POV-

I need to clear my head.
I leaned against the wall up last the car park, smoking a cigarette, puffing the smoke into the cold air,
Someone snatched my fag and box and slammed it to the ground making me flinch,
I looked over to see floss in tears,
"How dare you smoke when she's in there" she squeaked,
I broke down,
"I don't know what's wrong with me," I cried,
"I need her here,"
"It's my fault"
"What's"
"Her dad said it himself, if it wasn't for me she wou don't be here"
"But she was sick before-
"That's what I said but after thinking, I realised he was right and I was wrong."
"Don't think like that Dylan!"
"I need to get away for a while, tell Madelyn sorry when she wakes up, and don't try to call me, I won't come out"
"Dylan wait no she needs you!"
"No she doesn't! No one fucking does you should know this!"
