Dead memories

-maddy's POV-

I got dressed for the day and put my woolly beanie,
Chwis was sitting in bed on his phone,
"Chwis there is a play area down the hall can I play there for a bit?"
"Yeah you can just don't go with anyone and I'll meet you there in ten minutes alright,"
"Otay"
I headed out of the room and walking down the hall way,
As I was walking my eyes came across a mother and a daughter,
I stopped as I watched them walk by,
"Mommy mommy are we gonna see daddy?"
"Yes baby were gonna see daddy"
The mother noticed me staring,
"Excuse me but can you not" said the lady,
"S..sowwy I just m..miss my mommy"
"Well I'm not your fucking mother so go away"
I looked down and began to walk again,
"I know..." I whispered to myself.
I climbed the climbing frame and rather than taking the slide I turned around and fell backwards into the ball pit,
"Come on baby"
I turned to see Chris giving me a sorrowful smile.
I got out and took my suit case,
"Let's go catch this train huh?"
I gave him a fake smile and nodded.
"Look at me, we are gonna have a good time okay"
Said Chwis making me look at him
I nodded

-Chris's POV-

"Ever been in a train?"
"No"
"Oh"
We headed onto the train getting our seats.
"Oh my gosh Chwis dis is so cool!"
"Well I mean it's only a train but whatever" I shrugged taking a seat,
She sat across from me.
About an hour into the journey I heard a kid giving her mother some hassle
"Mommy I want a toy now! Buy me a new toy!
"Baby we can't we are on the train!"
"Your the worst mommy in the world! I hate you I hate you!"
I looked over at Maddy who looked sadly at them both,
Tears glistening in her eyes,
"May I be excused" she whispered getting up.
I looked over at the mother who was clearly in the verge of tears with her screaming.
"Shh baby mommy has a headache"
I felt bad so I got out a bag of sweets and offered the kid a lollipop,
"Thankyou" whispered the mother.
The child quietend withe the pop in her mouth,
"It's alright, I saw you were struggling glad to help"
" it's strange, I would have never thought a man looking like you would be so..kind hearted"
"I get it a lot, it's about not being judgemental"
"I understand, I dressed like you when I was a teenager,"
"Oh really? Why was that?"
"Responsibilities came, had to get a job, no one would hire me for the way I dressed or looked, I got all the degrees and grades I needed to become a doctor or a lawyer or a high end job but they all declined me, I couldn't even work in a shop for crying out loud cause people were scared of me"
"I'm sorry to here that"
"What is your job then! I'm guessing you were either lucky or the employer wasn't an ass hole"
"No, I'm a rock star actually, from the band motionless in white"
"I see, interesting, I guess your not worried about getting a job then, it's okay to look yourself when your a rock star, but do you think you would still look the same if you did have to grow up realising that your not gonna get anywhere in a society like this"
I thought about it deeply,
She was right, if I didn't become a singer I would be completely different person.
Then I remembered Maddy,
"I guess, I would be completely different sorry will you excuse me"
I headed to the the other end of the train,
She wasn't in the bathroom. She was I fact sitting in the ground next to the door talk no to a girl.
I stood back and watched them talk for a bit.
"sorry to here that about your mom kid, but your dad seems like a really good guy, you just stick by him and you'll be okay" concluded the girl smoking by the window making sure the smoke goes no where near her,
The girl was gorgeous, black hair, eyebrow piercing , black jeans and a loose shirt, army style boots with tape round them from the holes in her shoes,
She was stick thin and more like a real life lisbeth salander,
" my dad is the best thing that happened to me"
The girl smiled and chuckled
"I don't blame you,"
" what about you?"
"You dint need to know about me darling"
"Well you seem interesting and nice, not a lot of people outside of home are nice to me"
"My father and mother didn't like me, I was abandoned at 15. Homeless and alone, I then got a job, and slowly got back on my feet, now I'm a journalist"
"I is sowwy, it's good your better now"
"Yep"
I smiled and walked up to them both,
"Hi Chwis,"
"Hey you okay?"
Maddy smiled and nodded,
The girl put out her cig aren't in her tattered doc martens and and shook my hand with her ripped black gloves that covered her cold hands.
"Sorry I uhh shouldn't have smoked in front of her"
"That's alright,"
"I'm Chris,"
"Lilian, nice ink"
"Thanks, sorry if my daughter uhh bothered your smoking session-
"Not at all, it's nice to have some company, she's a great kid, sorry to hear about her past though"
"Yeah, just trying to start a new path now, that's why we're are on a small trip"
"I see"
"What about you,"
"I study crimes, unsolved murders are my thing, I'm trying to solve a murder case that happened over 40 years ago, quite a challenge for me but I'll get there"
"Well I wish you luck on your travels"
"I hope you have a good holiday,"
We shook hands again,
"I hope we meet each other again Lilian,"
"I hope so too Chris"
I smiled and headed back to the seat where Maddy is seated,
"How long do we have left?"
"Another hour and a half baby" I said quietly,
The cold train was now grey from the outside,
The weather was getting colder the more north we go,
The rain was now sleet and the fog on the outside was thick and nothing was really visible,
The train was silent and dull, just as dull as madelyns eyes,
She was sad and I could definitely tell she was sad.
"I just wish mommy got better and was here, I can't get her face out of my head, it keeps coming back to me Chwis, wike dead memories in my heart, every time I close my eyes to sleep now I have the flashback, it won't go away it won't go away" she shook her head,
I gave her a sad face.
She gulped and tears pricked her eyes again,
I sighed "come here sweetie"
She came over to me and snuggled into my shirt,
"You tried?"
She nodded,
I kissed her cheek "I love you" I whispered in her ear
"I wuv you too"
"Chwis?"
"Right here" I said rocking her back and forth,
"Can I h..have a back rub"
I smiled,
I ribbed her little back and she sighed calming down,
"I'll wake you when we get there I promise"

Hey guys
This is a extra long chapter cause my parents were away to a party and no one told me to get my ass to sleep,
My parents came home and my tipsy dad calling us fat y'know the usual,
I am getting used to it kinda, cause he won't stop,
He doesn't think it offends me but I really hurts.
Oh well he is banter though,
