-Chris's POV-
I headed down stairs with the suitcases.
While the boiler man and the plumbers and shut are working me and Maddy have decided to go on a two day vacation out of town.
We plan on just traveling on then getting on a train and heading out of town.
I headed down stairs to see Maddy fast asleep on the sofa.
I smiled and sat down on the corner of the couch brining her head up and resting it on my lap.
She smiled in her sleep making me smile gently brushing her little fringe from her eyes.
Her eyes flickered open.
"Heyyy there cutie" I whispered
"What time is it?"
"It's just after dinner time, you missed it but I didn't wanna wake you, you hungry?"
"No I'm okay,Thankyou "
"Alright well we better get going. We have a hotel to get to"
She smiled and nodded grabbing her duck suitcase.
We both hopped into the car.
Maddy tried grabbing her seat belt but couldn't cause of her jag she got.
"Hmm" she moaned about to cry.
"Here I got you,"
"My arm hurted"
"I know baby I know it will be sore and stiff for a bit" I said kissing her arm,
She nodded.
I drove off.
Madelyn sat restless trying to get comfortable.
"How about some music huh?"
"Otay"
"Here you pick"
She smiled and put on some Joy Division
The song Love will tear us apart came on.
I smiled at her choice.
"Good pick kiddo"
"I wike dis. Always have"
"You into older music then?"
"Of course. A lot of new music sounds weally bad, plus older music is more  catchy"
"Same here Madelyn same here"
She rested her head on the window and curled up.
"Remember to keep the seatbelt round you at all times alright"
"I will"
We sat in silence as we drove.
"I miss my bunny"
"Don't worry Maddy I'll get you a new toy on holiday okay"
She looked at me confused,
"You will?"
"Of course baby I having bought you a toy yet so why not make it now, plus you deserve it"
"I don't I haven't done anything"
"You have been so brave after the fire, plus I got a text from one of your teachers saying you've been working really hard"
Maddy blushed.
"I wike to draw, I'm the only one in the class that likes to draw"
"That's good,"
"Not really, I'm always alone"
"Well  I was too Maddy, but you have a creative mind and you'll go on to do great things in your life"
"I will? But my step daddy said that all I'll be was a whore-
"Don't listen to him. He is full of shit and you know it, your not one and never will be one. I'll make sure no man will treat  you like that"
"Wike what?"
"You'll understand when your a little older okay"
She nodded and closed her eyes.

About a few hours later it was 11 at night and I needed to stop at a service station to get gas and a drink
"Psst Maddy wake up" I whispered
She yawned and got out of the car,
"Just getting some gas" I smiled
She clinged onto my arm as we walk
"You okay?"
"It's dark"
"Your alright you got me"
We  got in the services and I bought me and Maddy a drink,
Maddy wanting her milkshake and I got some monster cause I'm driving late,

Maddy looked at all the food in the shelves in the store licking her lips, she was now in fact starving but did not want to ask Chris for food.

-Chris's POV-

We headed outside of the services and I stood by the trash can putting my receipt in the bin.
Suddenly Maddy stumbled back but I caught her,
I brung her to the outside bench staring her in the eyes with pure concern
"Hey you okay? What's wrong?"
She could barely keep her eyes open.
"I..I is-
She struggled for words. Her face turning white as a sheet,
I put my large hand over her forehead noticing she was burning up.
"Your not gonna be sick are you?"
She shook her head,
"It's okay you can tell daddy if your not feeling good, you might have car sick"
She shook her head and began to cry pointing to her stomach,
"Your hungry?"
She sniffled and nodded,
I sighed and picked her up hugging her little frame, her crying on my shoulder,
"You should have told me darling, you just ask if your hungry don't starve yourself alright"
She just gripped my shirt in response,
I bought her a sand which and a bag of crisps.
I took her back to the car and she tucked in,
She smiled and offered me a crisp,
"I'm okay darling you eat up you need it"
She nodded and I drove off,
We eventually got to the hotel that was located just outside the train station,
We were to stay there a night and then get on the train tomorrow,

We got two double beds in the room,
Maddy lay in one and I lay in the other.
I fell asleep almost instantly however an hour into my deep sleep I was awoke by Maddy having a nightmare,
She shot up awake and wiped her tears,
I motioned her to come sleep next to me,
She did and I put my arms round her kissing her little cheek,
"I love you Maddy"
"Wuv you too dad"
