Dream

Chris's POV-

"C..Chwis where are we going?" Said Maddy clinging to my hand as we walked down the hospital corridor,
"Getting you that jab baby, "
"Hey are you here for the jab" smiled the lady
"Yeah,"
"Okay you take a seat and can the little one hop onto the bed for me"
Maddy shook her head and clung to my arm
"It will only be a second Maddy I promise I'm right across from you" I said kissing her forehead.
"N..no I don't want to that's what mommy said but they took her away"'she said clinging to my arm beginning to Cry.
"Can she sit on my lap?"
"Yes that's fine"
"Come here, come on sit on Chris's lap" I said sitting down,
She did so and I put my arms round her torso and I rested my chin on her forehead huffing her Apple shampoo that she uses.
"Okay so it will just be a little prick" said the nurse,
She whimpered and took her arms away
"Hey, hey look at me, you got this, okay it won't hurt a lot I promise just for a little while okay"
She shakily put her arm out,
"I can't do it when your shaking " said the fed up nurse.
I put my hand under her arm and held it still
She put the needle in and Maddy gripped my ripped jeans with her spare hand.
The lady was done and she put a plaster over it.
I kissed her arm and whispered in her ear.
"Well done"
She smiled a little and yawned
"yes the jab will make you drowsy for a while, but it will wear off I promise" smiled the nurse.
I thanked her and we left.
We were walking hand in hand out of the hospital until we ran into
"Vinny?"
"Hey, I came as soon as I heard my homie was in the sick bay man, how you feelin Maddy" said Vinny clapping maddy's cheek,
"My arm hurted, I got a jab"
"Aww needles suck"
"She also has asthma, which I guess is a good thing that it's nothing crazy so yeah we are just on our way home"
"Man you look wrecked, let me drive I took the bus"
"Wait where is your motorcycle?"
"Crashed it trying to do some cool tricks"
"Of course"'
I heard Maddy yawn again.
"Yeah I'll drive, you two can snuggled and shit-
"Errherm"
"Sorry not cussing I forgot"

I scooped  Maddy up and carried her to the car.
It was getting late, it was pitch black outside and it was freezing.
I got in the back and I held Maddy close,
She rested her head on my chest and I used my long arms as a seat belt for her.

Vinny drove off.
"Hey have you guys ate?"
"No not since breakfast,"
"You want me to stop at mc Donald's drive through"
"Yeah that be great,"
"Hey can I get uh two regular  Big Mac meals and a chicken nugget happy meal please"
"Thanks"

I got our food,
"Hey Maddy," I whispered
She awoke weakly.
"Sorry I woke you, but I want you to speak something"
She looked up at me,
"Please for me?"
She nodded giving me a half smile as she ate her nugget.
She yawned and picked up her toy,
"You want it open?"
She nodded resting my head back into my shoulder.
I handed her this- I don't  even know what the hell it is to be honest but she seemed to like it.
She played with it for like a minute then put her thumb in her mouth then passed out.
She was probably the cutest little thing that I've seen.
Vinny dropped us off.
"You sure your gonna be okay walking"
"I'll be fine, I'll go and drop into ghosts house and annoy him, ask if I can be their third wheel in the bed if you know what I mea-
"Dude, you need help"
"We all do chrissy boy!" Grinned Vinny smacking my ass and skipping out of the drive.
Maddy still asleep in my arms.
I got into the house and I took her up to bed.
We both lay next to each other, she had her back to me.
"I saw you were sad before" said Maddy,
"Yeah, a little"
"It's not your fault Chwis."
"It doesn't matter, I wasn't there "
"But your here now right?"
"Always will be, when you grow up there is no rush to go ahead a leave y'know, you can stay for as long as you need to get on your feet and be ready to begin your life and live your dreams"
"I'm already living my dreams dad"
That hit me deep.
"To be with a daddy wike you was my dream"
"And now, you find a new dream"
Maddy turned over and smiled
She patted me on the head.
"Your clever with your words"
"Never head that one before"
"Neither have I but I said it"
"Yes you did Maddy, yes you did"
