She pulled up her black stockings and added one last coat of hairspray to her perfectly placed hair.
All the toxins and sprays in the air couldn't stop her lungs from suffering even more.
She knew that after this she might never dance again.
When she left the doctors office the day she made the decision to choose her dancing over her life, the doctor said that the dancing would only kill her even more.
But she knew that her days were limited. Her body wouldn't have coped after the surgery Anyways.
She wouldn't be able to dance even after she would have been cured, she didn't want to put Chris in the position on watching her daughter day after day, cancelling tours, studio sessions and meet and greets.
She couldn't put herself in that position either. Why should she watch her dads career be stolen?
Maybe his demon was his own little girl after all.
No matter how many thoughts that ran through her head she still felt like she could conquer the world with her dancing.

-Madelyn's POV-

No matter how determined I felt, I still have a heavy feeling of guilt at the pit of my stomach.
What will I tell him, when he finds out I said no to the surgery. I'll have to tell him either after tonight of tomorrow.
Will he be mad?,disappointed? Or will he break down.
Wither or the outcome isn't good, and Dylan and floss, oh god what have I done, thinking of all of them I kinda regret doing this fucking performa-
"Madelyn your on in five!" Yelled the dance teacher.
My hands shook like crazy as I headed side stage.
I put my hand on my chest as I breathed heavily.
Not too bad, I think I might just last by the end of the show.
I got at the back of the line, me dressed in black, the rest in white.
Feathers scattered across the floor, this was my big dream.
I have one group sequence and then the grand finale at the end. Just let me do the end and I will be satisfied with my life.
Nothing else mattered to me anymore.
My heart was young but my body is old and lived it's life. I had the lungs of an eighty year old man.
I had a life of a girl with cancer.
The music started and we all got on stage.
The crowd cheered.
I looked down to see Chris, and that smile, his smile lit up my heart.
I never wanted to cry on stage but I couldn't help it,
I wiped away the loose tear with my black glove on my hand and the music started.
Arms up, toes up and head to the side.

She let her body glide smoothly through the air.
Chris's pupils widened at the sight.
She looked like an angel, her skin glowed catching everyone's eyes.
The music faded out and she closed her eyes.
Her eyes opened up again, staring into the light shining above her, and then back down towards the audience.
Her breathes were short, her lungs struggling, her body longing for an oxygen mask, an inhaler or anything to help her breathe at this point.
But she smiled at the pain in her chest, the dancing put her at peace.
She didn't dare look sad on stage so her mind focused on the only thing that kept her together.
She seen the smile on Chris's face when she came on stage, but the thing she has been most longing for that she didn't want to admit was giving Chris his Christmas present.
The music started for the grand finale, her eyes looked down to still see the empty chair next to Chris,
Her heart shattered a little but her foot glided across the floor and her back arched, her fragile arms rose above her head and she became the black swan.
The black swan was Devilish with its movement, but radiant with its Beauty, it's movement was sharp yet it flows.
Her body was fragile but she moved violently. Like a black rose getting blown by the wind.
The more she moved the more pain she felt. Her lungs were barley holding up.

-Madelyn's POV-

I began to dance up the steps on the stage, all the dancers in white dancing below me,
I reached the top which led onto a fake balcony in the centre of the stage,
I danced infront of the fake moon when I noticed Dylan rushing in late and sitting down,
I smiled, the pain in my chest beginning to make my body shake,
I tried to breathe normally but now even that because in possible,
I continued to dance the routine,
Drops of blood dripped down my mouth and onto my white ballet shoes,
Chris and Dylan smiled widely,
I wiped the blood away with my hand,
I looked into both of their eyes which glistens with the lights.
I looked up and I stepped off the back of the balcony,
I flew through the air, my body stayed stiff as my flesh cooled and my bones weakened,
I landed on the soft crash mat,
I heard the entire crowd cheered, the sound of the clapping and whistles relaxed me, my entire body filled with relief, I closed my eyes and smiled,.
Someone threw a rose on the stage which was kicked near the side stage onto the crash mat,
I could barely move but I was able to pick up the rose,
Chris ran to me,
"That was absolutely amazing baby!" He smiled giving me a kiss,
The pain i felt, I couldn't bare it anymore.
Mentally and physically.

She let a tear slip,
"D-dad?"
"Maddy what- why are you crying" he continued to smile wiping her tear with his thumb,
"Dad, I did it, did I?" She said, her voice was hushed, she found it hard to form words.
"You did it darling, you really did" he smiled back,
The dance teacher came over,
"Madelyn, we need you for the photo on stage and so we can bow to the audience."
"I dunno ma'am she's pretty worn out"
The dance teacher left and headed onto the
"D..dad I-
Blood began to pour out of her mouth, rolling down her cheeks,
She coughed harshly,
"Oh my god, no no no fuck!" Chris shook his head in disbelief, trying to get some of the blood off with his long sleeved shirt.
Maddy gripped onto his hand,
Chris turned his head to look behind him,
"Dylan- Dylan where are- someone" he panted, him being in a panic state,
Dylan had already left with the rest of the audience,
"Dad" she whispered,
He looked back at her teary eyed,
"Your gonna be alright" he said nodding his head, his eyes becoming slowly bloodshot.
The dance teacher came towards them both,
Noticing the scene,
"Oh my- I'm calling an ambulance"
"Dad" she whispered
"What is it, don't worry help is coming soon"
"I'm feeling a little tired, I think I might sleep a while"
Chris overheard the dance teacher to another staff member,
"Damnit why isn't the ambulance here yet?!"
"I dunno are you sure you don't wanna take the car"
"We can't, the roads are completely frozen over and closed"

"No baby, not yet, just stay awake for a little while longer yeah?" He said flashing a fake smile, clapping her soft cheek
Her body began to shake like crazy,
"No no no Maddy please!" He cried grasping her hand,
"Did I do good daddy" she said calmly,
"You did amazing, my darling, "
She smiled and stared up at the lights above the stage,
"It was perfect" she smiled letting tears treacle down her cheeks.
Chris was numb, the paramedics rushed towards them not long after and grabbed Madelyn, taking her into the ambulance.
Her smile never faded.
