Sonic x Human!reader: A Quick Swim

You are human

If your going to enter then you might as well enter with style.

'Another day another dollar' as the saying goes, or 'stiff up a lip' get on with it in other words. (Y/N) had been saying these things to herself repetitively for the past two weeks. Absentmindedly she kicked a pile of autumn leaves and they scattered across the moist grass of the field she was strolling in.

I wonder when he'll be back?

When who will be back you ask? Well the blue speedster known as Sonic of course, who of which was staying at her secluded cottage in the country along with his other friends Tails, Amy and Knuckles. About a month ago she'd found them in a crashed plane in one of the fields surrounding her cottage and naturally offered to help them out.

Besides with her cottage originally being a farm there was plenty of room because she was the only one who lived their with no parents or siblings. But even though it used to be a farm the only animals on the farm were the swans which she fed bread to every other day until Sonic and co. came. And two weeks ago Sonic had gone off looking for chaos emeralds and hadn't come back.

Amy and Tails who always kept themselves busy said he'd be back soon and Knuckles was only seen in the evenings as he was also looking for the chaos emeralds during the day, still at least he came back.

So what better way for a girl to spend a Sunday afternoon than taking a stroll in a near by field waiting and wishing your friend would come home? Giving a huff at her deep thoughts (Y/N) made it to her favourite spot which was a small reservoir. Standing rather than sitting on the still dew grass she found the view of the water calming.....

I wish he'd come back soon.

*SPLASH!*

"Wah! Water!?"

(Y/N) recognised the voice instantly and didn't hesitate to skid down the bank of the water and into the reservoir when she saw her blue friend struggling in the water.

"Sonic! Hang I'll get you out!" she called to him.

But as she ploughed through the water he continued to thrash around like a helpless kid.

Where the heck did he come from!? She wondered.

When she reached him the water was up to her chest which she tried to ignore along with the freezing temperature.

"Sonic calm down!" she pleaded him to stop wailing around.

"But I can't swim!" he cried.

"If you stopped kicking about you'd realise I've got a hold of you." she said.

With one arm around his torso she used her spare arm and her legs to keep them afloat, but had she not been such a good swimmer and the water so shallow then they'd surely have both drowned.

(PLEASE DON'T GO SWIMMING IN RANDOM RIVERS, CANALS AND RESEVOIRS!) 

"Oh..." was his response.

She ignored the blush on his muzzle hoping he'd do the same to hers and swam back to the bank.

Wow, I know I wanted him to come back but that wish came true fast, she thought to herself pulling the pair of them out of the water. But then again Sonic was known for being fast.

"Phew! Thanks for saving me there (Y/N)." Sonic thanked her tapping the water out of his ears.

"No problem. But how the hell did you even end up the water?" she asked pouring the water out of her shoe.
