Phase 6: Ruby and Sapphire
[Blazing Heart Haven – Heightsburg City]
[7:50 PM]
The night had fallen, we made our way to a simple bungalow. Nobody appears to be inside. Erylle had told me to wait while she fetches her friends. This is where she lives, at least that's what she told me.
There are only three of them living here, and all her housemates are Guardians. This house serves as their haven, even though it is just a normal bungalow. Nothing's really abnormal here. Not until a sapphire haired guy flew out from a door.
"Gah!"
The guy safely landed on the sofa. He's in his early teens, and he is wearing the same uniform as mine. I don't know what happened, but this guy is holding a red broadsword in his right hand. He was unconscious. For the meantime.
"I TOLD YOU NOT TO FIGHT INSIDE!!!"
It was Erylle's voice. The most terrifying voice I've ever heard from her.
Then a short girl flew from the very same door and landed on the broadsword guy. She had her red hair tied in twin pigtails, and she's also wearing the same uniform as mine. This cute girl is holding a meter-long staff, which has a red orb on its tip.
My heart pulsed for no reason, and I'm now scared.
"E-Eh?"
Erylle came out from the door, having her eyes red and her head steaming. That's the first time I've seen her angry. It's quite scary...
"How many times did I tell you not to fight!? We're a team here... Geez!" Erylle held her waist and pouted.
The guy and the girl immediately stood up and pointed aggressively blaming each other.
"But he-!!! ", "But she-!!! "
"ENOUGH!!!" Erylle yelled.
The two sat down on the floor like frightened children. They paid attention to the monster's sermon for about ten minutes. I didn't even listen to anything. I'm petrified and can't think straight.
"We will have a new companion here. He's Yohan."
The two glared at me. They have the eyes that say "Who the hell is that loser?" I think. No, the truth is, they're just staring at me doubtfully...
"I'm sorry Yohan, they're just a kid. This boy is Heushac. He might be so pushy, but he's a reliable friend." Erylle finally shifted to a smile. "And this girl is Mianette. She's a strong Guardian, and she gives her all always ~"
The two shook my hand in a friendly manner. I think they're quite friendly. For me.
"You can call me Mia. Everyone else except this idiot can call me Mia." The girl made a sarcastic smile.
Mianette is also at the same age as Heushac, and also same uniform. We're all in the same school, but I never knew these two. They might be in the lower years. They look two years younger than me and Erylle.
"What do you think you are, huh? I'm not calling you by your name. I'm going to call you the 'Bedwet girl' " Heushac yelled.
"Hey, that's a week ago!? Why won't you forget that, pigshit!"
Then they bumped their head together like they're going to wreck the whole house down. But they suddenly stopped when they noticed Erylle making a devilish smile again.
"Let's introduce ourselves again, shall we? And oh, we need to shake hands ."
The two hesitated at first, but Erylle forced their hand to hold each other. Then Erylle held my hand again.
"I haven't formally introduced to you yet... "I'm Erylle Fontaine, the leader of the only legion on this place, the Blazing Heart Legion of the Heightsburg City." She made the brightest smile I've ever seen.
My heart beats doubled and my face became tomato red. I don't know what to say. She's so beautiful that I can't even move my lips.
It's just good that she immediately switched topics.
"Let's have the baptism, shall we~"
The four of us went into the backyard. I'm pretty sure that it was already around ten in the evening. There are stars in the sky and the full moon seemed bigger than most I've ever seen. Heushac and Mianette watched us while Erylle led me into the center of the grass, holding my hand.
"This might hurt a bit. Are you ready?"
"Y-Yes."
"Just look in my eyes. Try to tolerate the pain."
I did what she said. This is beginning to get more awkward.
She put her right hand onto my left chest and inhaled heavily. The moment she exhaled the air from her lungs, tiny balls of light appeared from the ground and surrounded us both. Immediately, the balls of light started flying straight into my heart.
"Aaargh!"
I can't help it. I can feel like someone's stabbing my heart every time a ball of light enters me.
Slowly, my body glowed. First, it was my hands, arms, feet, and then the whole body.
I never knew that I passed out until I woke up in the morning, in a bed. The sun is shining on my face belligerently that woke me up. Wait, am I late for class!? It's already seven in the morning!...but it's good that it's Sunday.
I walked out of the room. Erylle was there, sitting. She's waiting for me. When she finally noticed me, she smiled.
"Good morning~"
"G-Good morning... What happened?"
"You passed out."
"I know I passed out. What happened after that?"
"Look in the mirror and see for yourself."
There is a huge mirror in the room I came from, so I came back. Nothing's really wrong with me, same brown hair, same ears, same everything... not until...
"What the hell is this..."
My eyes. I know I have brown eyes, but... It's red. Red as blood. There is a gold cross sigil in it.
