Phase 67: Vengeance
"Okay, I'm sorry... I'll do my part for you."
You always did your part for me. You protected me from Eidolons for two years. You sacrificed your youth for my wellbeing. There is no one else better than you in terms of being a guardian angel. You always did your part for me. And I barely did my part for you.
"Why are you thinking of being rejected? You're kind and cute, she might like you! It wouldn't hurt if I try to advertise you, right?"
You are the reason why I won Erylle's heart. You always raised me up whenever I'm down. Even if no one trusts me; even if everyone, including my ego is against me, you are always there. You are my irreplaceable best friend. No, you are more than that in my heart.
"Being a Guardian is not a game, Yohan. All Guardians die from battle in Transfield. That our only destiny that no one can avoid."
You warned me...right? But you didn't have to be an example, damn it! I...I don't want to lose you like this! Hey! Erylle and I granted your wish, right!? Atlas is back! Why do you have to disappear after you finally reached your objective!?
"I think my wish has already been granted! My big brother has been revived in the form of Yohan Romanov!"
I don't know if you're sarcastic because you're a fan of dry humor but... Thanks... And sorry... I failed to say that to you. Even if I'm a great big brother to you, I can't say that to myself. But of course you will laugh like an idiot, so I won't do that.
[Transfield]
[9:11 PM]
In front of me, is a long haired man, half-naked, showing his well-built body. He was holding this kind of irritating smirk on his face.
"It would be bad if I kill Miss Fontaine and Mr. Romanov on the spot. I would like to dance with you two some more. That is why I gave you some more motivation... Kekekeke!" Benedict laughed.
His laugh is the most irritating crap I've ever heard. I'll wipe that smirk on his face!
"Grrrraaaaaaaah!!!" I charged to him with all my might!
Benedict immediately readied his Cataclysor, making a side stance ready to swipe me off from his face. This might be a bad position for me, but I have this Plasma Shield. I don't know if it can hold a Heavenly Blade's attack, but I have a card against him.
The Cataclysor slashed through wind going to my ribs but I readied my shield. It made an echoing sound around the hall because of the impact. My shield cracked, but in this time, I can use the spell Erylle taught me.
"<Mirror Counter>!!!"
There was an invisible force that slashed through Benedict's midriff that cut him in half. His body pieces flew and rolled on the floor. After a few milliseconds, his lower body regenerated. Then his body turned into ashes.
It is a teleportation spell of some sort! I used my <Timelock> again and again in a split-second interval to check the surroundings. He might pop out somewhere.
"Right here!"
He was on my left, and he's ready to chop my head off!
"<Binding Circle>!!!"
A red pentagram inside of a circle emerged from the ground. Benedict's body completely froze, as if time has stopped on him. Thanks Mia! This is my chance!
"<Horus Incinerate>!!!"
Black flames burned Benedict's flesh. But it's not enough right now! Erylle is still charging her energy by gathering light particles, so this will take some time! So basically, we should make a distraction until the Reginleif can be summoned again!
"I-I can't hold him any longer!" Mia cried. As soon as she finished her sentence, the circle disappeared. But then...
"<Tectonic Blow>!!!" Heushac smashed his sword on Benedict's head which made the dark knight grovel on the ground. It's weird that he's being affected by our attacks as of this time. Maybe he will be very vulnerable once he was hit by a Void Spell. I should test something out!
Benedict unleashed a static barrier that made a shockwave. Heushac flew into the air easily like a baseball. The dark knight then channeled electricity to both of his arms. It might be a paralyzing spell he used on Erylle during the summit!
"Hrrraaaah!" Atlas finally summoned all his strength and attacked Benedict. His movement are sluggish, but his anger... his hatred is like a fire that will never be extinguished. He swing his two swords wholeheartedly even if Benedict easily parried his attacks with his hands.
"Atlas, get back!" Zion shouted. Atlas never hesitated to do what he said. "<Bullet Storm>!!!"
Zion spun while shooting bullets all over the air, and converted into tiny light particles and surged to Benedict. There was a loud explosion, and dust particles scattered all over the place.
Without any delay, all other Guardians used their long ranged spells: Fire, earth, water, ice, wind, lightning, plants, arrows, bullets, javelins, rockets, and astral fists. Benedict took it all, but I know it wouldn't have any effect. There must be a mix of Void Spells in those attacks! So I used <Horus Incinerate> once more to add up. That will be my last spell. Even if I'm driven by rage, I can't be awake for ten more minutes. I've already used all of my energy.
Benedict is still standing. He suffered from tremendous attacks and burns, making him look like a corpse. His skull is barely visible and he's covered with black ooze. The Cataclysor's hilt is already on the ground, probably shattered because of all our continuous attacks. It became white particles of light that mixed through the air.
Benedict lost. But his smile is never fading. This irritated me some more and made me surged towards him with anger!
"I'll destroy that smile of yours!"
Without any second thought, my right arm crashed to his face. There is a black flame covering my fists for some reason. It burned my hands, but I never felt hurt.
Benedict on the other hand, fell to the ground. It was a soft impact, but this is a meaningful experience for me. For the first time, all my rage was released in one powerful punch. For the first time, I took down an enemy. For the first time, I felt powerful, yet dissatisfied.
Benedict seems to be out of energy. Even if he has a thousand abilities, he can't replenish his health and energy for so long. His body slowly reverted back to normal, but he's already unconscious. He's completely drained all he got.
"Reginleif is ready!" Erylle shouted from the distance.
I ignored Erylle. There was a sword on the floor. I picked it up with my burnt hand and slowly went closer to the unconscious dark knight.
Who cares if the Reginleif is ready?! I don't have any plan to save this monster! I'll kill him with my own hands! This is for Asumi! Yes, I know! I'll make him suffer! I'll stab his face for every droplet of Asumi's tears before you took her life, BENEDICT!!!
I raised my hand. It felt so slow, but nothing is abnormal in my body. I'm just hungry for bloodshed, specifically Benedict Hamerov's
"Yohan! Don't do it!"
I didn't know whose mouth it came from. I don't care. I'll kill him, and it will be all over.
This is my vengeance!
