Erylle's Log: A Grim Prophecy

Six months. He trained me to become a powerful Gate Guardian in this short amount of time. He though everything he know. Every spell I mastered is because of this mysterious white-haired man who calls himself Yohan Romanov.

During those months, I requested him to live with me in my house. Since he came from the far Mirose Grande City, he got no place to live. I also ruled over his conscience by being pitiful for living alone. I didn't have to improvise and force him on that one. He agreed because there is no other choice, and it's the best for us two.

Partners. That's what we call ourselves since we didn't have a Legion at that time. We hunted Eidolons together and harvested tons of Quintessence for only the two of us. Strangely, he only goes out of my house if it's time to hunt Eidolons. He does not want to go out of my house for some unknown reason. It's like he's a criminal or something.

I can't use my <Heartsong> at him. I can't indulge myself inside someone's secrets. But my curiosity is slowly taking away my patience. I'm about to spend a Quintessence at him...

Just how can he not trust anyone?

But one day, a strange happening in the campus made everything a lot more confusing about that man.

[Fontaine Residence – Heightsburg City]

[2 And a Half Years Ago]

Yohan was busy cooking on the kitchen while I relaxed myself on the sofa, sipping an orange juice in a tetra pack. I'm busy thinking over something about what I discovered in the campus earlier. I can smell what he's cooking right now...Fried scrambled eggs. It has a delicious smell that makes me relax easier.

"Dinner's ready! He shouted."

When we are already in the dining room, we both started to dig in. My, Yohan's eggs are good! Hey, don't think the wrong way! His cooking ability is quite good, being able to create an egg this special. It even has mozzarella cheese and cream in it! The sweetness and saltiness are just right for my taste buds.

When we finished our meal and cooled down just before I do the dishes, I finally asked him the question that has been troubling me.

"Hey, there is this boy named Yohan Romanov in my class. It's quite unusual to have the same name. Is he related to you?"

The white-haired man irked, but didn't answer my question. Instead, he changed topic like how about he do the dishes already. I knew he was avoiding the question. But I decided to press him more.

"His parents are named Charles and Marian Romanov, so that means you has the same parents as him. And that boy really looks like you. You have the same adorable face and brown eyes. The only distinct thing about you and him is your hair and height. You seem to be an older version of him."

He finally sighed, giving me the hint that he lost this mind game already. I know he's going to spit the truth out of him already!

"I'm going to tell you my secret, but don't you ever tell this to that guy." He pressed his face to mine with a dangerous aura. Is he trying to threaten me?

"O-Of course..." I said nervously. "Is it really a big deal?"

"It is." He finally pulled his face. "The fate of the whole world depends on how you keep this secret."

As soon as he said those words, my curiosity boomed at its peak. There is really something about this guy.

"I came from the future..." He said. Then there was a long pause. I didn't realize that he's staring seriously at me. "Aren't you going to laugh?"

"No I'm not~" I smiled at him. "I gotta believe in everything you say."

"Okay, for starters, let me show you my Heavenly Blade." He said with relief. I know that letting these secrets will remove some of his burdens.

He held his left part of his chest, and it glowed blue light. He drew out the golden hilt from his chest and revealed the Heavenly Blade of Time, Reginleif. It seems like this Yohan is a Heavenly Blade Wielder. He must have used the Reginleif's powers to go back to the past, which is right now.

"I'm here to stop the death of several people."

He putted a long piece of list that looks like a grocery receipt. It has names in it. Asumi and Atlas Kozukata, Lironeo Amerigus, Mianette Springfield, Heushac Efilion, Zion Apollonus, Amanda Cryst, and other names I never met before. But at the end of the list...

"Erylle Fontaine..." I muttered.

"I have to protect everyone in that list. I have to prevent your death that is bound to happen two years from now. If I can do that, then the future will change."

I immediately stood up and pushed my face to him. All these things that are bound to happen and knowing that he's from the future, I can't prevent my excitement. Not even after knowing that I'll be dead in just a couple of years.

No, it doesn't matter if I'll end up dead. My life's only reason is to protect the people from sins anyway. I don't even have any family left. I have nothing to lose.

"Hey, how is the future like!?" I asked in excitement. "Who do I marry?"

"Hey, I'm not that far from the future. I came five years from now, so don't expect some flying cars and laser sabers." He said in a disappointed tone. "I haven't seen you marry, but I know that you will have a boyfriend."

"And he is?" I asked, not limiting my excitement.

He sighed and shook his head. But he gave the name anyway. "Atlas Kozukata. A handsome man with a masculine body. Actually, you are bound to die in the same way and the same time so expect a romantic but a dark ending to your story."

"Well, it's okay~" I smiled. I haven't seen this Atlas guy, but I think he's pretty cool too, just like Yohan. "And how about you, who is your girlfriend?"

"I-I don't have any girlfriend!!!" He shrieked while having a red face. Then he changed topic by clearing his voice.

"Let's get back to my story, and don't you dare interrupt me."

"Mmm~"

"Five years from now, the Dark Legion will prevail against all the Gate Guardians. Black Cross and the other Legions was defeated on that timeline, and Benedict Hamerov, the Legion Master of the Dark Legion succeeded in copying all of Aeternos's powers. On that future, he has the ability to control Void Spells and the Eidolons."

"How about here on earth?" I asked.

"Because of the massive outbreak of the Eidolons, all the people on earth was affected. Homicide, plunder and other sins are rampant. The earth is on another world war on that future."

I was really shocked about the revelation from that future. It's not good at all.

"That's...pretty dark..."

"Yes it is." He sighed. "I've been trying to save everyone for centuries, but I can't see myself from succeeding."

"Wait, so you already repeated this timeline a countless times!?" I exclaimed. "S-So everytime, you fail..."

"Yes of course. See this hair? It got white because of the stress, but I'm not close to giving up. I'm the only hope the earth got." He slammed his fist to his chest with a smile. "I have this willpower and heart."

"Don't worry." I held his hands and stared affectionately on his eyes. "I will help you change the future. We will do this together."
