The ball of gray light suddenly became gigantic! Then the nine cloths opened like petals and unleashed a powerful beam that will annihilate Aeternos once and for all.

It penetrated the plasma barrier, the wooden seals, the prison-like cements and other binding spells the other legions have casted until it reached the sealed demon inside. Being hit with such attack is an absolute death, because of the power of Ainsoal.

But, it's not over.

There is a man standing where the Aeternos is supposed to be. He has these red glaring eyes, but he has this golden cross sigil. He looks like a teenager, probably the same age like us. He was half-nude, only his jeans was his clothing. But he has this creepy smile.

He's surely a Gate Guardian like us, but something feels awfully not right.

"Good job defeating me on my other forms. Now that you killed my Eidolon Shell, you're one step ahead of your demise." The man said. This guy looks crazy.

"Who are you!?" Serg asked, pointing the stalagmite sword on the man.

"I am the light bringer." The man smiled.

"The Heavenly Blade of Death should have killed you! And stop spouting nonsense, you're not a Cursed Guardian!"

"Am I?" the man continued to smile. "You see, there are two things I would like to explain. The first one is the Ainsoal, the Heavenly Blade of Death. Just so we're all clear, I died on that attack. Yet, I was reborn. It was just the shell that you killed."

"And the second is?"

"The second is that I am the original one. I am the first Cursed Guardian in the history of the universe."

"Okay..." Serg was unimpressed and having a poker face. As if he cared about that side story. "Everyone, attack!"

Thousands of projectile spells rushed to the man calling himself Aeternos but then...

BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAM!!!

What the!? All the projectiles exploded on the spell casters! It's like everything bounced back to the attackers! Some of them ended up critical, but the others are just wounded. Most of the Guardians who casted their spells first are now unable to fight.

"All things that are bound to hurt me is now going back to you. That is my Guardian Ability." The crazy man said. "And oh, I should try out my new spell... <Attack Negation Field>!!!"

He raised his hand and a pulse, no, a smooth shockwave filled the atmosphere. Nothing happened. But if I heard that spell correct...

"Now you can't cast any attack spells to defeat me."

"Impossible!" Mia exclaimed. "Fireball! Surging fireflies!"

He is completely right. Nothing came out with any of our spell chants. Heushac even tried materializing his Weapon Gem but it's all no good. All deployed Heavenly Blades evaporated in no time. Erylle and Asumi tried to materialize their Heavenly Blades again, but they couldn't. This is now a one-sided battle.

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!" the man laughed. "I also blocked your ability to open a Gate to escape me, so you'll be slaughtered here once and for all!"

All of us gritted our teeth. We can feel that this is our defeat this time. No one can do anything right now. There are no means of fighting. I can still use my <Timelock> since it's not an attack spell, but without any other spells, we're good as dead. Even Erylle is silently panicking right now.

All of us. We slowly backed down. But Aeternos started to walk to Neo's direction.

I used my <Timelock> to freeze time and think of a way out. There must be some way...

Neo is still channeling the gate on the ground, so it gives me a theory whether Void Spells will work. And also, that crazy man is clearly targeting Neo. He might be scared of Void Spells.

I should try it out!

As soon as I dispelled my <Timelock>, I immediately rushed forward.

"Ho, a courageous soul indeed." The crazy man said.

There's no time to waste! I should try out my enchantment at him!

I clenched my fist, then a black surging flame coated it. Great! Void Spells works! It was the same enchantment I accidentally made against Benedict! And this is the one I mastered on the training with Atlas!

I dashed to the crazy man and readied to punch him with my blazing fist.
