Phase 76: Going Back

[Transfield]

[5:12 PM]

"Ummm...None of the words that are coming from your head makes sense, Sis..." Heushac scratched the back of his head.

Heushac is exactly right. He just voiced me out. The other Blazing Heart members nodded in unison, making Erylle on the hot seat. We're just proving that she's now completely an idiot.

"Okay, I'll explain it to you all so that your pea-sized brains can understand! A Legion Master's job is to guide her members after all." Erylle pouted.

Seriously, that sentence is not really leader-like. Okay, we'll try to listen to her for now.

"First, I have the Heavenly Blade of Time, Reginleif. I can turn anything back to its past or future state or vice versa, but it requires a certain amount of energy. Now that I'm in Guardian Mode and using all your energies, I have more than sufficient energy to create a Time Gate using my Reginleif. I can time travel easily in this form~"

"I got it!" Mia shouted to our surprise. "But you should avoid creating a Time Paradox!"

"This nerd..." Heushac whispered to my left ear.

"I-I don't really get it as a whole but I get the time travel thing." I raised my hand. "But I don't get why you asked me to charge Light Energy, and why did you deliver a cheesy lame poem...Ow!"

Erylle hit my left shoulder with her white bow in response to me insulting her poem. Honestly, that's a really lame one. It made me blush though.

"A normal Guardian can't enter a Time Gate. But, we two are connected. When I'm in Guardian Mode, and you're gathering Light Energy, it will be transferred to me immediately. This means that I can give you some of my energy too. So if I poured some of the energy from the Reginleif, you'll be able to enter the Time Gate...Though it's just a theory and your body might go 'Poof'!"

"H-Hey, what do you mean by 'poof'?" I asked with doubtful eyes at her.

"It was nothing~" She innocently smiled. "So, shall we go?"

I don't know if I should believe her or not. But it's Asumi's life that is at stake. If this is the only way we can save her, then I'll be willing to risk my life. I'm always risking my life anyways.

"There's no time to waste. Let's go!"

All of our friends in this battlefield waved their hands at us, wishing us luck to revive our not-so-long-lost-friend. Everybody misses Asumi. Especially Zion.

Erylle swiped Reginleif's blade on the thin air, and a metallic dimensional rift appeared. There was a dazzling light that converted the two of us into nothingness.

Once the light faded out, we realized that we're in familiar grassland. We're at the backyard of our Haven right now. How did we end up here? It doesn't matter. We should be able to find up some ways to save Asumi.

"This is the Blazing Heart Haven three hours before we commenced our operation in the Black Cross. At this hour, we're all busy packing our things." Erylle said.

There was a question that popped out of my head, so I immediately asked Erylle with a doubting stare. "Hey, if we can save Asumi by using your Heavenly Blade, why didn't you tell me sooner?"

"Honestly, this is just an experiment. It's good that your body didn't merge on the timestream when we are entering the Time Gate. You're not listening earlier, are you?"

"S-So that's why you said that my body might go 'poof' or something..."

"Save the chit-chat for later. We should prevent our Legion from conducting the operation." Erylle hurriedly said.

Something feels awfully not right. If we're going to stop the operation, we would be ruining the timeline. Asumi will be back, but Atlas won't. The same goes for the rest of the Dark Legion. They will be our enemies, including the Cursed Eaglehorn Guardians. And what's worse is that maybe...just maybe there will be more casualties if we stopped the operation. The future may be darker than it really is.

"H-Hey, are you sure about this!?" I grabbed Erylle's hand before she could go inside the house.

"Hmmm..." Erylle crossed her arms and tilted her head. "Mia said that we should avoid creating a Time Paradox. There must be another way, other than stopping the operation..."

There was a long pause, mainly because of us creating some ideas to preserve the events that will be happening a few hours from now. No matter how we think of it, this is too much. We can't easily save that is ought to be dead in this timeline.

"Wait here..."

Erylle suddenly said, as she went inside the Haven. After a while, she came back, hugging a cute life-sized Dalmatian-looking cow plushy toy. Man, I really don't know what's she's thinking.

"I knew I left him in the attic!" Erylle jumped in joy. Darn her, she should fix her priorities straight. "Shall we go now?"

"G-Go? Where?"

"In the Black Cross Haven. We'll think of a way to save Asumi at the war."

Well, there are a couple of hours to think of a way. And besides, we can still repeat if we screw up, right? As long as Erylle is in Guardian Mode, we will never lose Asumi again. Though repeating might reduce my insanity if I ever see Asumi's death over and over again.

I took Erylle's hand. She kicked the ground, and the white wings on her back started flying like a jet rocket. We're now above the clouds, trying to enjoy the view one kilometer from the earth. The wind here is soothing, but it never made me relax a bit. We should think of a way to set this timeline right.

"I can't come up with anything!" I scratched my head like a crazy man.

"Ssshhh!" Erylle tried to calm me by patting my head.

Right now, we are witnessing the battle of the "Gate Guardians versus the Dark Legion Part 2" for the second time, like an old movie. Metals clanging, spell projectiles flying, painful screams, spell chants; Everything is falling to its place. I've even have a glimpse of our battle with Benedict on a third-person view from afar. We have to hide our existence from everybody so that a Time Paradox will not occur.

"Kyaaah!"

It was Asumi's voice, after she got her body crashing to the wall thanks to the demon-form Atlas. Zion rushed to her side and helped her stand up. Some of the Black Cross Guardians started their <Healing Touch> spells to Asumi and Felix, who are now quite injured.

Seeing Asumi like that made me clench my fist. I should think of a way to stop her demise. C'mon, think Yohan!

"I've got an idea." Erylle smiled at me.

"Let's hear it."

"Once Asumi got stabbed by the Cataclysor, I'll stop time. Then you should pull her out of the blade just before Benedict will create a beam of darkness! Once I resume time, his attack commences, resulting to a fake Asumi's death!"

"That's brilliant!" I cried. "T-That's still painful for Asumi...I guess. But it's better than her being dead. Let's try it!"
