Chapter 71 | the closer the risky-er

Reader POV

"Hiccup I'm not *num* 2"

I like sitting opposite Hiccup while he feeds me like a baby, its cute but I'm 16 I should be feeding myself.

"Why are you eating everything I off you then?" He said.

"Because I'm hungry, shut up"

He laughed as I took a bite of the doughnut he was holding out for me.

I gently nudged his arm.

"Shut up" I said.

He just responded with a giggle.

Snap.

I looked around but shrugged it off, probably just the dragons teaching their kids to fly again, they're really starting to get the hang of it.

"I just realised how close we've gotten over the time you've been here" Hiccup said.

"I thought that you taking my shirt off and making marks on my neck was sign enough" I laughed.

"Well yeah but I mean like, look how comfortable we are with each other, most people wouldn't have said that"

"Maybe we're soulmates?" I said.

"Maybe, I hope we are... Well we probably are otherwise we wouldn't be together" he said.

"True, true" I said.

He pulled me off my chair and onto his lap, cradling me like a child.

"You're so cute" he said.

"Pft no, you're the cute one" I said.

"Dude no, you're cute"

"Nah"

"Yes"

"No"

"Say it"

"Nope"

With that he started to gently tickle me.

"Hiccup!" I laughed.

"Say you're cute!"

"Fine fine! I'mcute..."

"Thats better" he said.

"Now you say you're cute"

"Fine, I'm cute, and I bloody well know it" he said tapping my nose.

I giggled at him again, too cute.

I yawned and snuggled up to his chest.

"Lets go to bed" He said, picking me up and carrying me upstairs.

I closed my eyes as he put me down and covered me with blankets before laying beside me, wrapping his arms around me and holding me close.

"Love you, goodnight milady" he said.

"Goodnight baby, love you" I said.

And with that I fell into a deep sleep.

But not for long.

Crash.

I jolted awake and hid under the blankets.

"(Y/n)" Hiccup said tapping my shoulder.

I sat up and snuggled up to him where he put an arms around me.

"The dragons, they're gone!" He whispered.

"What are th-MRPH!"

I was suddenly put into a head lock and a hand was around my mouth.

A person grabbed Hiccup and held a syringe up to his neck.

"MRPH!!" I tried to speak but nothing happened.

Suddenly I saw the syringe stabbed into his neck as I felt a jab in mine.

I threw a hand over my neck in pain as did Hiccup.

My vision got blurry and the last thing I heard was Hiccup struggling and trying to call for help.
