Chapter 22 | preporations

Hiccups POV

I sat in my dark room on Friday night, the day before I confess my feelings to (y/n).

This is the first time I've done something like this and I'm freaking out.

"How about: (y/n) I've liked you for- ugh no thats too cheesy" I mumbled to myself.

The dragons had left for snoggletog 3 hours ago and I don't have anyone to talk to, I would talk to Toothless but he's with (d/n).

"Maybe- no" I said.

I could always push it back a day but I promised myself I'd confess tomorrow.

I quietly got up and went downstairs trying to not wake anyone up.

I went outside and sat on the porch.
Stupid empty brain.
I looked around for inspiration.
If what my mum tells me about her liking be back is true then how could I possibly get rejected.

Thats the thing.

I don't know if its true.

Suddenly I heard a thump and crying.

Shes had another vision.

I ran up to her room to see her curled up in a ball against her bed.

Without saying a word, I just hugged her.

She knew it was me.

She hugged me back.

"It was different" she said.

"How?" I asked.

"It started out like normal but before I died I saw my murdurers face" she said.

"Who was it?"

"Y-you"

I was shocked at this.

"I wouldn't ever hurt you (y/n)-"

"There's more..."

I kept quiet so she could explain.

Then it hit me.

I know how to confess.

Reader POV.

"Your eyes were blank and you looked into mine, you said that I didn't belong here and should go haunt another world before you killed me" I explained.

"(Y/n) listen, I'm sure its just a part of dragon shock or something, I would never ever hurt you, this is your home too, you don't haunt it. You make it come to life, you make it fun" Hiccup said.

I hugged him tighter than ever before.

"Thank you" I said.

"Do you want me to stay?" He asked.

I nodded, I'm not going to lie I feel safe in his arms, he protects me, and that feeling of being loved is what keeps me sane. Even is he doesn't know I love him. I still do.

Not letting go of me, he pulled the blankets up and looked down at me.

"Your safe with me, don't you ever forget that, you can tell me anything" He said.

I sniffed and nodded, wiping the tears from my eyes.

"You do all this for me and what do I do for you?" I said in a small voice.

"You exist"

I smiled.

Maybe he does love me back...

I felt myself get drowsy and fall asleep.

Hiccups POV

She fell asleep in my arms and seemed much calmer.

I tried to move before realising that her tail was wrapped around me.

Cutie.

I just hope shes ok and accepts my feelings.

Reader POV

I hope I can work up the courage to confess soon.

I love that boy.

He makes me feel wanted.

And well, I hope we can be together.
