Chapter 79

Yumuko ako. Bigla akong nahiya sa ginawa ko. Lumayo ako at tinalikuran ko siya.

"Rad, hindi pwede to."

Narinig ko ang mga yapak niya na papalapit sa akin. "You're making things complicated, Eva. Just admit it. We have feelings for each other. End of story. What's holding you back?"

He put his hands on my sides, above my hips. He turned me to face him. His eyes were pleading. As if he's begging me to give in. Begging me to love him back. My eyes became watery at the sight.

"This is wrong, Rad. This is wrong." I shook my head but he cupped my face using his hands.

"I've been doing wrong things all my life." He dried my tears using his thumb.

"Rad—"

"You are the most beautiful wrong I've ever done. You are the kind of wrong that makes everything right."

"RAD!" I jumped to him. I wrapped my arms around his neck and I buried my face on his shoulder while I'm still sobbing and murmuring his name.

"Sshh.. Stop crying Eva." He was caressing my hair with his hand while his other hand was supporting my back. His body felt warm.

"What will we do Radimir? They will kill us if they find out. Worst, they will torture us."

"I won't let them hurt you Eva. I promise." To hear him called me Eva was the most wonderful sound I could ever think of the moment. I love listening to the sound of my name coming from his mouth.

"King Azrael will not forgive you."

"Don't mind him."

Inangat ko ang ulo ko para tignan siya. Ngunit hindi pa rin namin ginagalaw ang aming posisyon. Having him closer makes me feel secured and safe. Even if death was already knocking on my door.

"What if we just confessed everything Rad? Maybe our agencies will forgive each other and become allies." I was hoping that trick would work. It could work right? Maybe it could. But my hope quickly vanished when he gave me a sad smile and he slowly shook his head.

"But what if it works Rad? You're a Tenebrous, but you lov—care for me. Maybe Arthur was also.. ahm, a bit concern for me. At naging kaibigan ko rin si Mark. People of Tenebrous can change."

A playful smirk suddenly appeared in his face. As if he noticed my sudden hesitation to use that four letter word.

"Yes, I lo—care for you." There was a hint of sarcasm in his voice. "But it takes me a lot to realize that. Arthur was concern for you but.. Eva remember what he did to your mom." Biglang nawala ang pag-asa ko nang maalala ko ang ginawa niya kay Mama. Napansin yun ni Radimir kaya bigla siyang nataranta. "I'm sorry Eva. I don't mean to—"

"It's fine. Not your fault, Rad." I wonder where he got the information. Well, he is Radimir Henderson. He gets what he wants. Anong bago dun?

"And don't be silly to trust Mark. He's just jolly in the outside, but his snake is within."

"You're just jealous." Sinimangutan ko siya na tinawanan lang niya.

"You silly girl, I'm not!" He chuckled once again. He wrapped his arms around my waist, pulling me closer. "I'm telling you the truth. This is all from my better judgement."

"You really think we cannot convince our agencies to become allies?"

"No. At hindi ko rin yun hahayaan. Kawawa ang Safronov kapag naging kakampi nila ang Tenebrous. Mapanlinlang ang Tenebrous Eva. We don't play fair games. We trick people. We fool them.
