He gazed at me. His dangerous eyes are pinned on my whole being. Like he's casting a spell in me that no matter how hard I want to cut my gaze on him, I just couldn't. And the way he stared at me made me shiver. There was threat there—which was expected—and interest—which wasn't.
It was the interest that made me shiver.
And when I saw Radimir starts to walk towards me, I use all my force and might to cut my gaze on him.
"Yvonne, we need to go." Agad kong inalis ang braso ni Jackson sa balikat ko at tumayo.
"Aalis na agad kayo Eve? Maaga pa." Malungkot na sambit ni Jackson sa tabi ko. I hate to ruin his party but I know that I'm not safe here anymore.
"Kaya nga Eve, party pa tayo." Pupunta pa sana si Yvonne sa dance floor pero hinigit ko siya pabalik.
"I'm sorry Jackson." Muli kong sinulyapan si Radimir na nakatitig pa rin sa akin. Ilang hakbang na lang ang layo niya sa amin. His dangerous smirk is still on his face. Like he enjoys instilling fear in me.
Muli kong nilingon si Jackson. "We really need to go. Happy birthday!"
"But Eve—" Hindi ko na hinintay ang sasabihin niya dahil kinaladkad ko na si Yvonne palabas ng night club. I can still sense his presence. I can still feel his gaze at my back.
And I don't dare take a glance at the night club for fearing that I will see him right next to me.
"Where are we going Eve? Call of nature ba? May CR naman sa loob ng club." Hindi ko pinansin si Yvonne at tuluy-tuloy lang ako sa pagkakaladkad sa kaniya papunta sa aking McLaren F1. Hindi na siya nagtanong at pumasok kami agad.
"Eve where are we---WHOAH!" Agad kong pinaharurot ang aking kotse at nang makalabas na kami sa parking lot, doon lang ako tumingin sa rear view mirror upang tignan kung sumunod si Radimir.
But he is just standing at the corner. His arms are crossed over his chest. His irresistible smirk is plastered on his face. After he made sure that I'm driving away from that club, he turned and entered the club again. Like he doesn't plan to kill me now. Like he just wanted me out of that bar.
What was that for?

Nahiga ako sa kama katabi ni Yvonne at binuksan ang TV. Nandito kami ngayon sa kwarto ko at kumakain ng popcorn.
"Seriously Eve, what happened? Parang nakakita ka ng multo kanina at gusto mo na lang umalis." The one that I saw in the bar is far more dangerous than a ghost.
"I have an enemy in the Tenebrous. Nakita ko siya doon."
Lumaki ang mga mata ni Yvonne at pinalo niya ako sa braso. "Then why did we run away! We should've fought them! Gosh! Nawawala na ba ang pagiging cool ni Eve Williams?" If it is just some random Tenebrous, I will be happy to kick their butts. But this is not just some random Tenebrous we're talking about. This is Radimir Henderson. Gorgeous, dangerous, intimidating, arrogant, and bad ass Radimir Henderson.
"I don't want to ruin Jackson's party." Pagpapalusot ko na mukha namang kinagatan ni Yvonne.
"You have a point. Manood na nga lang tayo ng mga karate tutorials mo." Kinuha niya yung laptop ko at nanood na lang kami ng mga fighting tutorials doon. This is my normal night with Yvonne. Eating popcorn in the bed until we fell asleep.
Pagkagising namin, naligo kami at dumiretso na agad sa Safronov Palace. Today is Thursday. And Thursday means Death Threat day.
"Empty threats day today." Sambit ni Yvonne nang papasok na kami sa headquarters. Umupo kami sa kaniya-kaniya naming desks at nakita kong nilatag na ni Damien yung mga death threats doon. Iisa-isahin ko na sana silang basahin nang tumunog ang cellphone ko.
Jackson:
Good morning Eve!
Sinilip ko si Jackson na nasa desk niya at nagtetext. Muli na namang tumunog ang phone ko.
Jackson:
Even if you don't reply, I will still send you text messages.
He will not give up, huh?
Ibinaba ko ang aking phone at binasa ang mga death threats. As usual, they are just non sense and non threatening... except for one.
The shiver that I got when I read his death threat for the first time is nothing compared to what I felt now. The weight of his words are pressing to me like a foot crushing on a pitiful ant.
Eva, I let you escape a lot of times. And to remind you, I'm not even starting to get you yet. But the next time that we will see each other again, I will not play games anymore. I will let you see the real Asad.
My hands are itching to kill you. August 15 seems like a long time to wait. For the mean time, I'm giving you the chance of a short lived freedom. I will not disturb you.. yet. I'm giving you time to do the things that you should do before I hold you captive. I'm giving you time to get ready for your death.
But if I see you hanging out with Jackson again, forget about me giving you a short lived freedom. I will get you right away.
