Today was a good day.

We had a really interesting law lecture on a huge financial scam that took place in 1992. I am totally living for these Law lectures recently, this professor is killing it {am I using 2017 lingo correctly? (Gosh, I sound like such an old aunt sometimes)}.

Next we had a Marketing Lecture where our professor told us about a new project.

A group project.

Fuck. The wounds of Thursday's presentation are still fresh and here this man is talking about yet another group presentation. Give us a goddamn break, y'all. Anyways, the inevitable happened. We decided to make separate groups, which took a lot of time cause no one was able to tell Darcy that they didn't want to work with her. Eventually, we came to a conclusion. Darcy is not in my group which I am thankful for. She has a good brain but we both have always been together for every project and I honestly needed a break. Though I didn't get the fair share of the deal, we'll have to work with what we've got.

After another lecture, official college hours were over. But Kristen, Paul and I had a meeting with Ms. Paula. Today, we did a really fun exercise. Ms. Paula gave us an option between getting inspired by a book or by an exhibit. We all chose the later. So we went to the resident art and exhibition gallery which I've always planned to visit but never got around to doing it.

The first thing we saw was a Lorenzo Quinn exhibit called 'Draw Your Own Time'. Ms. Paula asked us to analyse what we saw and I kind of did a good job. We then proceeded to see the rest. The gallery was beautiful. First of all, the architecture and interiors were damn nice. Added to that, the exhibits were amazing too! There was a series of frames which showed two different stories when we looked at it from two opposite angles. It was damn cool! After closely examining a couple of more exhibits, we came out.

I have never thought of myself as being someone who would enjoy exhibitions and art work. But, isn't this all about self-discovery?

After coming back to our meeting place, Ms. Paula asked us for our fav exhibit and gave us some challenge to write about. Paul and I chose Lorenzo's work, while Kristen chose the frames. Paul was given a task of writing a poem inspired by the exhibit in a typographic form. Kristen was to write a story with two different perspectives. They both did a pretty good job. I guess Paul has mastered the art of poetry.

Since I have phenomenally less writing practice than these two, Ms. Paula asked me wrtie my thoughts about the exhibit in detail. And this is what I wrote:

The first thing that pops into my mind when I hear the word 'time' is a clock, complete with numbers and hands. That is exactly what I thought of when I first saw the art work. The circle surrounding the sculpture was the dial but the second and hour hand was missing. Without these hands, the clock becomes directionless and incomplete. But in this sculpture, the direction was given by a physical hand symbolizing that a man is wholly responsible for his own time. He drives the clocks of his life, rather than the other way round. He makes time, rather than run out of it. The art work also mentioned a prisoner and his perception of time. For a man behind bars, time can be agonizing. He is forced to kill time with nothing much to do. He is the master of his time, just not in a way he would've wanted.

I'm glad Ms. Paula liked my work. She wants to see more of my previous writing stuff now so she can gauge my style of writing. She knows I've written personal stuff and wants me to send her whatever I feel comfortable sending. Honestly, I have only been writing this journal for the past year and that is the only writing I have done in my life (apart from my Nostalgic Manuscripts). I don't really know what to show her. But that's a battle for another day.

Anyways, I showed this piece of writing to my family and they all praised me. I felt really good! I seriously mean it!

But my day of praises didn't end there. Uncle K came to visit us today evening. This was the first time I had met him after finally sending him the report I had made on him and his business. He showered me with praises. He said that he really liked my command over my language. He also told me that I motivated him to expand his business. I feel really honored knowing that I did that.

X Factor Liveshow #3 Girls Vs. Boys

1] Lloyd Macey
2] Holly Tandy
3] Alisah Bonaobra
4] Grace Davies
5] Rai Elle Williams
6] Sam Black

Alisah gets eliminated, shocking....not. And Lloyd wins today's fav performance and also beats Kevin. Honestly, I'd be happy by either result.

Ms. Paula had asked me to write a poem version of today's work and this is what I did with it:

They say "time" and I think of a clock,
Complete with hands and numbers.

In front of me I see a circle representing a dial
Missing the second and the hour hand,
The absence of which makes the clock directionless and incomplete.
What is present, however, is a physical hand,
Symbolizing that a man is responsible for his own time.
He drives the clocks of his time, rather than the other way round.
He makes time, rather than run out of it.

I also see the sand
That a prisoner forcefully plays with to while his time away;
An agonizing state,
For he is the master of his own time, just not in a way he would have liked.

Here's to many more possible pieces of writing!
