Today's day started out extremely depressing but ended on really high note!
In the morning, I was feeling really low. The self made pressure was getting to me and I couldn't get myself to stay happy.
Our first lecture was Entrepreneurship and it was good. We were taught about the procedure we need to go to get our products approved by government/ get licenses for them.
Even this lecture wasn't enough to lift my mood.
The rest of the day went normal.
Today we had our first member meeting. We had decided to add an element of music to attract people and then begin with the agenda of the meeting but it didn't turn out that way, did it?
First of all, only 4 people (other than the committee) turned up for the 'General Body Meeting'. Then there was this one girl who was so enthusiastic about the music that she kept suggesting different songs while the two guys on the guitar made it their point to the learn the cords and co-ordinate amongst themselves. So the main discussion was left aside. Since I had no idea about any of the songs they were playing (mostly rock), the meeting was very very uninteresting for me. A few left half way through and one guy asked "Is that all that you do?"
Also, I failed as a VP and a senior to control the situation. I didn't want to be a party pooper. I just gave up.After all the so called 'meeting' , I decided to attend an event which was managed by Kristen's Club. The event was frankly... avoidable but I thought it was rude of people to leave right when someone was speaking. The auditorium was filled in the beginning of the event and there were only a handful left when it ended.
When I came back to update Ms. Paula about the event, I met Paul. We spoke for a bit and then Kristen joined our discussion. I didn't think I would be that comfortable talking to anyone after the shitty day that I had had. So this was good.
Ms. Paula came back and then she gave Paul and I serious advices regarding the club and us in general. She told us the individual reasons for selecting each member of the Committee. She told us where we have to improve. It was kind of like a life coach type session but I liked. I love self reflective conversations, however vulnerable they make me feel.
We easily spoke for an hour or so. It was 7:30 PM by this point and I was pleasantly surprised to see that Kristen still hadn't left for home. How sweet (and patient) of her! Having worked with Ms. Paula the whole of last year, she had already had her share of advice sessions.
We discovered that Paul had still not seen the new campus and decided to explore the place once again. There were no students on campus and all the faculty members were leaving too. But that didn't stop us from wandering towards the new building, where our campus will be shifted to.
And boy, was it fun! I thought I had seen the entire campus but apparently not. There was an entire section of rooms that I had missed out when I saw the campus for the first time. We three ran, skipped, jumped and laughted throughout the entire 'campus tour'.
This was exactly what I needed after the day I had. I was super super happy with our adventure.
Finally, at about 8:30 PM, we finally left college and went home.
I regret not taking any pictures of us three because I really would like to remember this feeling for a really long time.
