Question: If you had a dollar for all of the times you made someone happy, how rich would you be? (Estimate)
I believe I'd be pretty damn rich if I do say so myself. Move out of the way, Jeff Bezos.
It was hard sometimes.
Some days would be completely blissful and wonderful.
Others would be like hell finally opened its gates.
And sometimes nothing seemed to go right.
But it was ok.
You both knew deep down that you could never leave each other. Not even for the world,
You and Sawamura loved each other too much. That was your biggest problem.
You loved so hard that you became angry and upset when anything went wrong in the other's lives. Even for small little things like failing a quiz or big things like a loss of a friend.
Luckily though, since you guys loved each other so much, you got through it no matter what. Yeah, it took time and mending, but it worked.
Today you were nervous beyond belief. You sat alone at home by the front door, biting your nails in anticipation.
You had applied to your favorite college. You sent in your resume and everything else you needed a few weeks ago, and every day since then you'd wait for the letter to arrive saying wether or not you made it in. Of course you applied to many different colleges, but this one was your favorite choice. At this point, you barely had nails to chew. Bad habit, you know that.
Suddenly, the ring of the doorbell sprung you out of your thoughts. You leapt up from your spot, swung the door open, took the neatly made letter from the mailman's hands, and politely closed the door. In a moments notice, you were sitting down on your couch and slowly opening the crisp envelope.
Your eyes scanned the paper, taking in every word and dash of ink. You made sure you didn't miss anything. When you were finished reading, you read it one more time to make sure you saw it all right. You did.
You jumped up from the couch and cheered to yourself. Hugging the letter close, you thanked god and any other force. You began to cry tears of joy, celebrating your college acceptance by yourself.
Wait, that's not right. Who celebrates such amazing news on their own?
Wasting no time, you slipped on your shoes, grabbed the letter, and raced to your boyfriend's house on foot.
When he opened the door, you sprung into his arms and waved the letter in the air. Daichi quickly caught you, returned the hug, and took the letter from your hand. As he read it, you danced around him in glee.
"Can you believe it? I made it! Sawamura, I made it!"
Daichi nodded, "That's great (y/n)."
You paused your cheering and turned to face him, concern leaving your features.
"Why aren't you glad? You seem down about it," your mood began to drop. Daichi shook his head.
"Oh I'm not down about it!" He did his best to sound convincing, but you knew better. Taking a step closer, you frowned.
"What's wrong?" Your eyes pleaded for an explanation, "Why are you upset that I got accepted?"
Daichi scratched the back of his neck, "Uh...you see...um..."
"Sawamura." You said his name sternly. He looked you in the eye and found annoyance burning within their (e/c) irises.
"I...I just don't want you to go." He stumbled upon his words.
You suddenly felt anger pang at your chest.
"I don't understand. I get accepted into the college of my dreams and all you say is 'I don't want you to go'?" Your arms crossed and your nose scrunched into a frown.
"I don't want you to move away," He tried to explain without making matters worse, "It's so far from here."
"So you would rather me go to some random college close to home than pursue my passion?"
"That's not what I mean-"
"Then what do you mean, Daichi?" Your anger got the best of you and your tone of voice came off harsh and rude. Daichi took a step back at your sudden outburst.
"I don't want you to go," he repeated. You snarled, getting angry. You were so happy but he has the audacity to kill your mood with his selfishness?
"Why not, Daichi? Why can't I go?"
"Like I said, it's too far away and my college may not be close depending on which one I get accepted to." He tried to explain, but it only made you angrier. You stomped closer to him until you were able to poke his chest.
"Oh so it's all about you, huh?" You spat. This made Daichi equally angry now. All hell was about to break loose.
"I'm not saying that (y/n)! I'm just trying to-"
"No, your being selfish. I came here wanting to celebrate with you and all you do is complain about it. Really nice of you." You said, the last part dripping with sarcasm.
"Well I'm not the one who decided to apply to a college so far from home! I'm not the one who planned on completely leaving her boyfriend behind! You didn't think about it enough!" Daichi sounded annoyed, which was rare for him towards you.
"I thought about it Daichi! And so what if I'm far away, we can still keep in contact and talk every night. It's called a long distance relationship, look it up."
"What if I don't want a long distance relationship? I want to be with you."
"Well if my life doesn't fit perfectly with yours, that's too bad. Can you just accept the fact we are going to be apart for a while?"
Daichi clenched his fists which were held tight by his side, "No I can't, (y/n). I can't."
You felt tears pricking at the corners of your eyes from the frustration boiling beneath your skin, "Why not?!"
Daichi squeezes his eyes shut and suddenly bursted out, "BECAUSE I LOVE YOU TOO MUCH"
Silence echoed in the room. You could heat a pin drop. Both of you didn't move a muscle. Silent tears rolled down your cheeks as you stared wide eyes at your boyfriend. Tears began to drop from his closed eyes and he quickly reached up to wipe them away.
"I....I-I love you too much to be apart from.... from you for that long..." He murmured with a slight whimper to his voice.
In an instant, your arms were leeched around his figure and the letter fell to the floor. Daichi's large hands held you close to his chest and you both quietly cried in each others arms.
After a few moments, Daichi pulled away to cup your face in his hands. Wiping away your tears with his thumb, he managed a smile.
"I am happy for you, I really am. If this is want you really want, than I'll stay by your side and help you every step of the way," Daichi gave you a comforting nod. You smiled.
"Thank you, Sawamura," You made sure your face was dry, "I am going to wait to see if I got accepted into any of the closer colleges before I make my decision."
"I understand. I'm sorry about earlier..." He picked up the letter and gave it back to you. You took it and nodded.
"I'm sorry too. Let's just work through this together."
Daichi gave you a quick peck on the forehead before looking into your eyes.
"Together."
