CHAPTER 59: One Shot

Andrew’s POV

I woke up to the smell of morning dew in Tagaytay...Upon realizing the things that transpired yesterday I immediately sat on the bed and scanned the entire room. Mag-isa lang ako. Was I dreaming?

I can’t be dreaming...Not after the happiness I felt after a very long time.

I stood up and went down the flight of stairs na nagmamadali.

As I reached the end of it, my nerves calmed down.

“Son, gising ka na pala. You take your breakfast and join us” pambungad ni Mommy sakin.

Hahahaha.

Laughter filled the entire room we were all in. I can’t help but look at the scene before me. Marga and Ela playing with the Wii controls. Sumasayaw ata sila ng AutoDance to the tune of Starships ni Nicki MInaj. Everybody important is presently here. I wasn’t dreaming afterall.

Yesterday, when Marga came with Kyle, I was mortified. I was half expecting the worse that he would leave me for good over that guy, to my surprise she was there to introduce me to my son, Darell. A son that would bound us evenmore. Now, Marga has no way out of my life. And it will take all hell to break loose for me to lose her again.

Nalimot ko ang puot that I felt when she first left. Now, all I had to do was make this family work again. And I am not taking NO for an answer. I will do everything in my power for her to love me again and I am determined to make her forget the pain that we both had to go through in the past. Hindi ko rin siya hahayaang ipagkait sa akin uli ang pagiging Daddy to our child, I think 4 years without me is enough payback from what she saw in that hotel room 5 years ago. I may not be guilty but I know, nagkulang ako. I will make up for it now, even if it meant enduring her ranting and bashing everyday.

I continued watching them, careless of the things going around them, lumagapak sa tawa si Ela at Marga at naupo sa sofa.

“NapakaUNCOORDINATED ng mga moves natin, hahahaha” natatawang kumento ni Ela.

LEVEL FAILED...sabi dun sa screen ng AutoDance na nilalaro nila.

“Kinakalawang na kayo, get outta there” bumuhakhak sa tawa si Phillip na kalaro ni Darell.

Nagpatuloy ang hagikhikan ng mga tao sa paligid ko. Nasa isang round table sa gilid ng open space ang mga magulang namin na umiinom ng kape. Lahat sila nakapantulog pa. Ako nalang pala ang kulang.

“Daddy, you and Lolo do it this time” tawag sakin ni Darell who finally noticed me standing at the end part of the stairs.

Umiling ako. “Pass muna ako anak, I haven’t done that in a long time” pasimple kong sabi.

*chuckles

Tiningnan ko saan galing yun, and I saw Marga sarcastically chuckling.

Affected!

“On second thought...sige” Isang idea ang naisip ko. Kinuha ko ang wayfarers sa kotse ko, inabot ko kay Daddy ang isa at pinasuot sa kanya.

“Waah...Gusto ko yan..” excited na tili ni Mommy.

Binigay ko ang combination ng song sa AutoDance kay Ela. At nasa harap na kami ng flatscreen ngayon.

DInig na dinig ko ang tawanan at hagikhikan sa itsura namin ni Daddy.

Mother Father Gentleman umpisa ng kanta na sasayawan namin.
