For all those People Who have been reading until here.

I understand that the point of most books you have read is to find out about the story, and I understand if your all becoming impatient.

I've been trying to make this book interesting by putting clues for later, but I think it's time to speed things up a little.

Sorry to all those who have been losing interest, this is my first book and it's plot has been moved around during the process due to a few difficulties.

I'm trying to make this a little more intresting then the all-magic or no magic books.

Although that's a bit hard.

To the story we go

"I killed my mother." David said blankly.

His friends stared at him in shock as he said that.

"And I could have helped her, but I never did, I wanted to see her suffer. But now? I feel so guilty." He started to cry at that point, and a large breeze came from David's Dragon flying to them. She landed gracefully, and she looked at David with sorrow in her eyes.

Aqua looked at her friend and put her snout on his head in attempt to make him feel better.

"I understand if you guys hate me, or are scared of me, but I can't go back in the past and change what I did. But I did it for Aqua, if I didn't step in we would both be dead." Everyone remained silent.

"Dude, you were only 9." Peter started.

"Yeah, I was pretty young to be a murderer." David said sadly.

"You were only 9 and managed to use our powers! And two of them at that!" Peter cheered. Jasmine shared the same excitement while Emma just smiled brightly, laughing at her childish friends.

"Don't you understand though? I killed people." David argued. Jasmine let out a huff.

"So? We all make mistakes, and besides, you were protecting Aqua, I would have done the same!" Emma argued. David's eye's sparkled with tears of joy. He couldn't believe them, they still cared for him.

"Thank you." He cried. "Thank you so much."

Tears of joy were streaming down his face as his friends embraced him. The winter breeze blew gently as they all sat in silence. Aqua lifter her head to the sky, taking a wiff of the very distance scent of spring.

"You know what guys, let's take a swim tomorrow." Emma said, trying to get rid of the emotional vibe. "I think it would be nice to relax after all this."

The others nodded, but then they realized the time as Peter's phone buzzed.

"Holy sh-" He stopped himself and double checked the time. "Dudes, I love the idea of swimming tomorrow, but it's way past curfew, and I'm not getting in trouble by any teachers soon."

He grabbed David's had and ran to the boys dorms, careful not to make to much noise. Jasmine and Emma did the same, quietly running across the moon-lit field as they raced to their dorms.

The two girls split up and snuck into their dorm rooms, and Emma was greeted with a mess.

Things were scattered all over the place as an energetic Dragon bounced around. Ashley sat in a chair, he head in her hands as she let out a distressed sigh.

"Emma please get your message over with and get this Dragon to leave." Ashley asked. Emma couldn't help but let out a little giggle, immediately getting a death glare from Ashley.

Emma chased the Dragon around the room as Ashley locked herself in the bathroom, getting ready for the night.

When the brunette finally caught the black and white dragon, it's eyes glew and a hologram displayed a picture of a cloaked man.

"Dear Emma, we have recently given out the contest notifications to the mages by now. Unfortunately, we only have 3 academy's left, and we wanted to remember your father's service by inviting you, to watch with the elite 10." The hologram said.

Emma stumbled back, almost tripping backwards in shock. She began shaking, the last time she had anything to do with them she had received news of her father, and now they wanted to honour his services now?

'After a whole 5 years too? Yeah, alright'

"You will attened the feast with the elites, along with the other 10 chosen candidates that have passed the final fight. You will be treated like a Dragon rider." The man on the hologram snickered, but immediatly stopped as soon as he started.

"We will be expecting you, Emma." The hologram stopped, and the little Dragon rubbed it's eyes, then stared at the shocked girl.

Emma slowly sat on her bed, not caring for the mess of blankets the Dragon had made. She was shaking in fear, she didn't want to have anything related with the elites, and yet now, she was practically being forced to go by an unspoken rule.

"Oh gosh, please let this all be a dream, let me just wake up back in some place made of food. Let me enjoy my life there." She whined. There were only two weeks left of winter, two more weeks before the spring trials.

Two more weeks of silence.

Emma got up off her bed and opened her window, gesturing to the little Dragon the way out. It happily obeyed and flew out with grace, letting out a squeak as it flew over the whining forest.

The brunette changed into a night gown and leaned out her window, staring out at the night sky. The stars twinkled as the half moon lit up the sky.

"Are you gonna jump or what?" Ashely asked from behind. A towel was wrapped around her head as She wore her pink night gown. She laughed a bit at her own joke and she went under her blankets. "Goodnight Emma, turn off the light when your done."

"A 'please' would be nice once in a while." Emma retorted. Ashley waved her hand as she stated at her phone, scrolling through the pages of social media. Emma got out her own phone and opened up one of her favorite reading apps.

Although there was no books saved yet.

The brunette sat her phone in her nightstand and got out the cheesey love book She was reading earlier, the hand-writing becoming messier as the book went on.

She didn't know when, but her eyelids began to close on There own and Emma felt the weight of the book slowly press against her face. But her body wouldn't cooperate and move to put the book away.

But just as she imagined, the weight of the book disappeared and shuffling was heard moving around the room.

"I told you to turn off the light when you were done."

Ashely's voice was the last thing Emma heard as she fell asleep.
