The dragons were growing restless as their bonded began to call them away, and even with Emma's constant request to protect her, she was using too much of her power in such a broad range that only bonded could break their trance.

Whenever one dragon had left it's place, another one in the sky would drop down and knock down any intruders, sometimes glancing nervously behind them to watch Emma's progress.

David was one of the people trying to get to the other side, his mind trying to break Emma's hold on Aqua. The wall was strong, but it wasn't a match to his for his bonded link. Aqua immediatly returned her mind to David, but she didn't move.

'Aqua,' David shouted in the link, 'you have to move so I can see her!'

'That's something I cannot let you do, David, she needs space so she can finish the book. She can stop the reborns, all she needs is a little time.' Aqua was growing quickly frustrated with the petty calls from other riders with annoyance in their voices. Aqua quickly shot a blast of water at a particulat blonde who was having a similar conversation with a familiar red dragon.

Peter cursed as he scanned the line of proctective dragons; his nerves burning with the feeling of being watched from afar. The reborns were listening to the chaos unfold from the other side of the wall, their deep chuckle putting him on edge. Whatever Emma was doing inside of the dragons defense was putting the reborns in a rage, their calls heard from all corners of the country. The blonde quickly dashed over to David, his hand landing on his friends shoulder.

"Any luck getting to her?" Peter asked while looking over Aqua. Emma had just finished reading the book, and was now mounting Comet to prepare for another take off. David seemed to pick up on Peter's worry, also looking over to the girl. Surley enough, her eyes held darkness in them, she saw something, an anwser, or maybe even the curse itself.

"We have to help her Peter, she can't do everything alone all the time, she needs us." David glanced at Aqua, and the blue dragon shifted, knowing that once Emma released her command, she would take off with David, "Grab Jasmine and her dragon so we can follow Emma, we're her friends, and a stupid curse won't stop me."

"David, maybe she just doesn't want anyone coming with her, do we really risk this?" Peter asked, worried for David. The blonde could feel jealousy, but he knew it wasn't meant to happen, right?

"You would follow me, wouldn't you?" That's all David said before he climbed on Aqua's bare blue saddle, his ice blue eyes not once glancing at Peter. The fire mage gritted his teeth, if only he knew how he felt, his heart ached to tell his friend, to tell him how jealous he was of Emma, but it was wrong to take the jealosy over his friend, it was wrong to give into this.

So Peter climbed his dragon, a new sense of pride in his chest. He would save Emma, he would help his friend with the reborns, even if it meant his own life had to be sacrificed, for lovmare you do crazy things, and he was crazy.

As soon as Emma took off, three other dragons also took off along side her. It was the people who actually cared about her, an electric mage, one who rode on a dragon of topaz scales, a fire mage, who rides on a dragon made of ruby, a water mage who rides on a dragon of sapphire. These are the dragons that shall follow the silver eyed girl through the war of reborns, taking them to the leader, the one who calls himself-

Latherius.

She knew her friends would follow, and that's what made her heart sink. She was risking their lives, and if they died, the blood was on her hands.

The group flew all day without a word, the tense atmosphere blanketing all of them and wrapping them in anxiety. When the sun had just dipped under the mountains was when they landed, a feeling of lonliness washed over them. There were no reborns, no voice, there was nothing but silencel, and only Peter was crazy enough to break it.

"It's crazy huh? Only in ten months...so much can change." Peter looked up to David, who was staring into his lap and playing with a pine needle on the ground. The four dragons laid side by side with calm expressions, and Emma couldn't help but leak into Comet's head and find the headmaster.

The man was inside the academy, but in the side of his arm was a delicate needle tucked into his arm. A liquid sleeping pill, one similar to the liquid Bailey used on Joel at the fire wall. The headmaster bent his head down to look at the straps holding his weak body down, watching his captor with sharp eyes.

Draco, the headmasters closest adviser was combing his finger through his beard as he caught eyes. Emma felt the anger well up inside the headmaster, betrayal, but she also felt reassurance. The headmaster knew she was there.

"We need the girl Adrian, she's going to stop the reborns and destroy everything I have worked for. I need to destroy her, to preserve our reborns legacy and create the strongest army. We'll take over the world and show them all true power! What do you say headmaster Adrian?" Draco cheered. The headmaster let his head fall back down into the pillow and relax, letting himself fall back into an unwanted sleep that was forced upon him. In the distance, Emma could hear Draco's angry cries, furniture being swung all over the room. She was quickly pulled away from the noise when Emma felt a cold hand on her wrist, making her focus on the man in front of her.

"Emma, Comet has the most descriptive books hidden in our shadow realm. Find a shadow mage, and get them to retrieve my diary, for there you shall find the answers I never wanted to show." The headmaster let go, and forced Emma out of his mind. She struggled to hold onto him, but his force was too great, knocking her back into reality.

"Emma?" David was leaning over her, his warm hand on her forearm. The girl smiled, turning to look at Jasmine and Peter.

"I missed you guys."
