It had been ten long years since dragons had left the world, leaving humanity to severly adapt to the new change. Firstly, humans had to rebuild their lives after such a catastrophic event occurred, fixing homes, lives, and more importantly, each other. Many lives were lost from the brute force of the reborns, once more reducing the population to a dwindling number. If it wasn't for the sudden growth in resources then no one knew where they would be.

Magic still ran through human blood, but now when it crosses another's magic, the consumer is drawn into an unconscious state for a few days, allowing the opposing magic to break down and dissipate. According to some researchers, the bond of a dragon had prevented the magic to break down, thus allowing Latharius to take control of such power. The dragons absence had been a great change too, forcing humans to find new ways to travel, build, and even cope through day to day tasks.

A new council had been created too, one with a king. It wasn't hard to find a new leader, for the headmaster had shown the best characteristics to become the king. Headmaster had lead the construction of the new world, keeping a kind heart as he helped his people rebuild their country. A democracy was put in place to make sure everyone's opinion was heard, and everyone was happy. Of course, the headmaster never left his academy, and instead he turned the building into his home, where the capital would be built around.

Jasmine, the electric mage, had moved to the coast where she became an athletic teacher at one of the new education systems, keeping her students in top shape to help develop their new society. She had remained close to her old friends by sending letters occasionally, although her job always kept her too busy to visit.

As for Peter and David, it had taken them quite a long time, but somehow the red head had managed to make his best friend fall in love with him. Their relationship was bumpy at first, but after a few months of acceptance, David had realized that maybe he really did love the guy.

Now only married for eight years, they had adopted a small young girl with purple hair, for she was a mage capable of mental manipulation, a very rare magic. But it wasn't the magic that had brought Peter and David to adopt her, but rather because of the fact that she was not upset to possibly have to fathers, and that was all they needed to become a happy family.

Now, for Noah, well he continued to search the lands for possibly entry ways to the dragon realm. He wanted to find Emma, it was his only goal, but as time went on, he began to question himself. He had many chances to settle down with different beautiful women, but each time he had politely declined their offer because of the feeling in his heart that he knew other women couldn't fill.
Maybe it was just going dumb love, for they were only young adults when it he met Emma, and yet when he read the definition of love for the first time, he was sure Emma was his first love.

After ten years of travelling, sending letters to his previous compainions to tell them of how he was doing, he would finally find her after so long.

"Why must it rain now?" The dark mage asked to himself. He was travelling in a dense forest while heavy rain poured down into him, the thick canopy not helping the situation. He had dashed into a small indent near a cliff to keep himself dry, sitting on the dry rocks as he waited for the weather to settle.

Pulling out a cloth from his bag, Noah had attempted to dry himself as best he could, only managing to soak the cloth with rain water. With a huff of irritation, he stuffed the cloth back in his bag and stared out into the forest, his black eyes catching a small figure of an animal in the distance.

His stomach rumbled in response, licking his lips as he watched the soaked creature stumble into the dry cave too. Noah then quickly grabbed the creature with his bare hands and lifted it off the ground, his eyes scanning the small animal.
