The agonizing scream came from past the light curtain. Emma shot out of her chair and quickly moved the curtain. A girl stood close to a trolly full of magic condensed bags, diffrent colours sitting in a beautiful assembly that looked like a rainbow.
But the girl was injecting herself with a red bag of magic, some of it spilling all over the floor. She gave up on trying to stick a needle into her body, and instead began to drink up the magic. The girls eyes weren't red like Emma would have thought, but she was rather one of the first people to lose in the earth rounds. Her brown eyes flashed repeatedly in an attempt to warn itself, to prepare for what came next. But humans are stubborn creatures, and don't realize what's wrong until it's too late.
The girl dropped the now empty bag, satisfied with her result. She lifted her hand and felt the rocks move beneath her, breaking through the Windows and into her hands. Then, her brown eyes flashed red, and she began to create what only a hybrid could.
Fire twisted around the stone, melting the rock with a red flame, just like Bailey. Except he had used pure earth magic, moving the rock fragments at high speeds to create heat. But this girl was using the foreign fire magic from someone else's body, using it as her own.
Just like the elites
The girl howled with laughter, her voice becoming a twisted version of an it once was. She lifted her flames and threw it at anyone who came to close to her, the fire creating the scent of burnt flesh. The sick smile on her face was twisting into one of the creatures Emma thought she wouldn't see again. The black, long bodies and limbs of the creatures that had nearly killed her and her companions, yet never finished the job when they had the chance.
Emma backed away, not intending for another battle with the creatures, but the girl saw the movment from a mile away, a fire ball aimed right at the girl. The brunette doged the fire ball, keeping her eyes on the now insane girl. Her skin was hardening and becoming dark and structured like a beetles shell. The girl pranced around on a mix of all fours, sometimes running on two legs, then on her four limbs. People screamed at they struggled to escape the room, the creatures fire burning up the room around everyone. The poor girl who had just been turned began to swat at any nearby people who attempted to escape, their screams replaced with deathly silence as the monsters now sharpening claws grew to larger sizes not fit for a normal human hand.
With a sick smile, the girl who had injested the fire magic ran to the grey eyes, the ground shaking as she did so. Looking around now, most people were gone, doctors wheeling out a few patients that were completely oblivious of the battle in their unconscious state. The rude doctor from earlier came in and attempted to take another patient from the growing battle, and Emma looked frantically at him, trying to avoid the insane girls attempts to hit Her.
"Hey! Get David out of here, please!" Emma shouted, getting the attention of the doctor. He looked at the girl, then at the cubical the water mags was in. With a smile of his own, he saluted, walking away.
"Code 45, first challenge doctors don't touch the winners." He repeated the line Emma had told him earlier, one that had saved him from the magic sapping, but if might have just been his death too. Casting a glance at the girl, she was still trying to close in on Emma, moving silver carts and supplies out from in front of her. The insane girl was constantly mouthing something, something that Emma was supposed to hear.
"After all these years of hiding, you to show up in a place like this? And you've even fallen in love with a human boy! How pathetic, I expected so much better of you." The girl barked, her voice consisting of many other voices from the void. Emma wanted to shout something, but a voice in her mind kept her mouth shut, not letting her say anything.
"Damn, she's too new, I can't get her out of here." The voice in Emma's mind growled in frustration. The grey eyes girl raised an eyebrow, now not caring for anything but getting David and herself out of the hell hole before they both died. The insane girl racked her body, almost like how a body would shake before death took over. Staring into the insane girls eyes, Emma saw the life leave her eyes, now only a dry, empty husk of a body standing a few few in front of Emma.
The creature found a new light on its eyes, one of great darkness that scared the shadows away. It's endless pits of vision seemed to eat away at anything, letting noting escape but dread. The creature lunged for the girl, it's teeth liked in place and ready to kill.
"Move it girl! Only a few more seconds until help arrives!" The voice said. Emma was filled with determination, avoiding the creature and letting it slam into an empty room. Scaples rained down on the creature as she shook the room, tools falling from everywhere. Emma winced as waited for the creature to get back up, to continue bleeding, but it's wounds healed so fast she wasn't even sure there was any injury. The creatures blood was still splattered all over the floor, a mix of green and red all over. The creature looked at Emma and let the grey eyes girl look at her features in a quick glance.
Unlike the earlier creatures, this one still had normal human skin all around it's body, and had only grown a black tail that sprouted from behind her. It wasn't much different than looking at the girl she once was, but her eyes lacked any humanity, and the whine from a dragon in Emma's mind only made her feel guilty.
"Kill it now, while I have it in place. This half breed will never be able to fully transform now, I don't need it." The voice sounded like it had a smile on its face. Through the corner of her eye, Emma saw a metal spear beside her, flinging in the white hospital lights. The creature didn't move, just stood there and twitched every so often. It looked at Emma with eyes that didn't seem to understand. It barred its teeth, now sharp fangs that seemed to dig their way up into its mouth, but other than that, it looked like a normal girl.
Raising the spear above her head, Emma hesitated, not able to take a life of the creature. She dropped the spear, and the creature gave the girl a look of respect, rushing out into the room. A blast of fire shot past Emma and just barely missed the creature, burning the ball behind it.
The creature let out a howl of pleasure as it sought out a new challenge, ready to kill the fire user, but neither of the two girls expected it to be The fire elite. With burning hands, he sent another fire ball, but not at the creature, but rather towards Emma.
