Y/n lay on the couch, curled up beside Trunks, when the sudden chime of the doorbell made her tense.

"I’ll get it," Trunks said, stretching as he stood. He walked to the door, and the moment he opened it, his voice lit up with excitement.

"Gohan!"

Y/n’s heart dropped.

Fuck.

She sat up, already feeling the tight grip of anxiety in her chest. She smoothed her clothes, trying to shake the nerves, but it was useless.

Trunks and Y/n had been together for two years, but their relationship was far from perfect. A year ago, he had cheated on her. She had walked in on him kissing another woman, and the betrayal had shattered her. In her pain, she sought revenge. That’s how it started—her own affair. But revenge quickly turned into something else, something worse. She hadn’t just cheated to hurt him back. She had fallen for the man she was supposed to use as a weapon against Trunks.

Gohan.

And the worst part? It hadn’t stopped.

Trunks never knew who it was. He had caught her once—had walked in just as her lover had disappeared through the window. He had demanded answers, but shame had sealed her lips. They had broken up, only to reunite days later, pretending as if nothing had happened.

But the truth still lingered, suffocating her. A year had passed, and not only had she never told Trunks the truth, but her affair with Gohan never really ended. They still found themselves tangled in sheets when no one was looking. They still stole kisses in the dark.

And now, both men were about to be in the same room together.

Y/n swallowed hard as Trunks and Gohan stepped into the living room.

"Hey, Gohan," she greeted softly, her voice barely above a whisper.

Gohan's smile was small, knowing. He sat on the couch beside her. Trunks took the other side.

Y/n was trapped.

The air felt suffocating. The guilt pressed down on her so heavily she could barely breathe.

"I, uh… need to go to the bathroom," she blurted, standing so fast she nearly tripped over herself. She rushed away, slamming the door behind her, locking it with shaking fingers.

She sank against the door, burying her face in her hands. Tears burned her eyes before they spilled over.

She was garbage.

She had told herself it was just revenge. A one-time mistake to even the score. But then she had fallen—fallen hard—for Gohan.

How could she claim to love Trunks when she spent her nights with another man? How could she claim to love Gohan when she still went home to Trunks?

How long had she been in here? It must’ve been longer than she realized because soon, a soft knock sounded against the door.

"Y/n?" Trunks’ voice was gentle. "Are you okay?"

No, she wasn’t. She was a liar and a cheater and—

She inhaled sharply, forcing herself to pull it together. She wiped her face, straightened her shoulders, and unlocked the door.

She opened it with a bright, forced smile. "I’m fine!"

Trunks frowned, his gaze studying her. "You’ve been crying," he murmured, reaching to touch her face. "Why?"
