I pick up my glass of wine and look over at Michael. Jermaine is sat with him now and they're talking. I want to get Michael alone, but I know that's a bad idea. I shouldn't be encouraging this.

"Sorry Sam, I haven't had a chance to have a chat with you." Meg says, making me turn and look at her.

"That's ok." I smile.

"Its just been so busy, and a lot of people turned up." She chuckles.

I nod. From the corner of my eye I see Michael look over at me and Megan.

"You have a lot of friends."

"Most of them are family." She sips her wine. "Wheres your friend?"

"Oh she had to go. We couldn't find you, but she said thanks and that it was nice meeting you."

"Oh I feel terrible. Let her know I'm sorry."

"Its your housewarming. Don't worry, we understand you're going to be busy talking to everyone. She doesn't mind." I smile.

"Good. I mean she looked like she was enjoying talking to Jermaine... I think?" She chuckles.

"Yeah." I laugh. "Jermaine seems nice."

"He is." She nods. "But honestly them two together is a nightmare sometimes." She says nodding her head over at Michael and Jermaine. "They might be grown men but they act like kids when they're together."

I look over at them and show half a smile. I clear my throat.

"You and Michael are both family people then?"

"Yeah, and we both have big families. I don't think I could be with someone who wasn't family orientated."

I nod.

"Do you have a big family?" She asks.

"No." I shake my head.

I finish my wine and Meg pours me out some more.

"I have a brother, but I don't really see him."

"Oh?"

"And my dad lives in Spain, so I don't see much of him either."

"What about your mother?"

"Uh.. she passed away when I was 14."

"Oh no, I'm sorry."

I shake my head and smile.

"Its fine." I pick up the wine and drink some. "It was a long time ago."

"Yeah but I can't imagine losing my mother. It must have been terrible for you?"

"It was." I nod. "But as the years go by you learn to cope with it."

She nods and frowns.

"I don't want to ruin the mood." I laugh.

"Oh you're not." She shakes her head.

I show half a smile and we go silent for a few seconds.

"The good thing about my dad living away is that I get a free holiday every so often."

"Yeah." She chuckles. "And Spain is beautiful."

I nod and pause for a second.

"You're lucky." I say looking at her.

She gives me a look and sips her wine.

"I mean you seem like you have the perfect life."

She shakes her head.
