UNLUCKILY I'M IN LOVE WITH MY BESTFRIEND

"Bestfriend!" I heard someone shouted and before I cock my head to see who was it, I felt someone snaked his arm to my shoulder.

I looked to that broad arm smoothly embracing my shoulders then I shifted my eyes to him— to my bestfriend.

"What?" I asked in a monotone voice.

"Ang cold talaga lagi ni Bestfriend! Sing a song for me!" I sighed. I know that I can't resist him.

"Uh, what song you want me to sing?" His eyes grew bigger and then smiled widely. I just shooked my head.

"Luckily I'm in love with my besfriend." I stopped for a bit. Seriously, I am relate to that song, argh!

He took my guitar and gave it me. "Use this, I love it when you play a guitar, I can see admiration in your eyes, you are just genuine and pure."

I stared at him and bit my lower lip. Darn his words, he always have this effect on me. Only if he knows it, but I will never tell it to him.

"Oo na, akin na."

I started to strum the strings. I just focused my attention to the guitar because I know if I'll look at him, he will notice it.

But when I started to sing, I can't stop myself to gaze at him.

He just puts his hands on his cheeks, pouted his lips and he did puppy eyes while looking at me playing a guitar for him. And darn I can almost hear my heartbeat, it pound so fast as it already it is.

But I just shooked my head and continue to sing. I looked at him directly on his eyes.

But I got shocked when he joined me singing in the last chorus of the song.

"I'm luckily i'm in love with my bestfriend
Lucky to have been when I have been
Lucky to be comin' home again
Lucky we're in love in every way
Lucky to have stayed where we have stayed
Lucky to be coming home someday~"

"You know what Aieka, you really are beautiful when you smile!" I bit my lower lip to stop myself again from smiling.

"Bolero. Tama nga yung mga babae na pa-fall ka," I uttered while I returned my guitar to its bag.

"Na-fall ka ba sa akin?" he asked and I almost choke even though I am not eating nor drinking.

"Ibahin mo ako sa babae mo 'no." I felt again his arms snaking my shoulder like he always do.

"That's why you are my bestfriend!"

I smiled bitterly. Yeah, I forgot, I am only his bestfriend.

In our ten years of friendship, I don't know what the exact date I fell for him— I just realized and woke up that my heart was already beating for him, fast.

But I will never gonna tell it to him. I am afraid to lose our friendship, I treasures it.

"Yung crush ko parating!" Kerk whispered to my ear.

I removed his hand on mine. "Ang dami mo talagang crush, 'di ka na nagbago."

He didn't mind me and instead he called his so called crush.

"Jophie!"

"Oh, Kerk! Ikaw pala?" Jophie my classmate asked him while smiling. Yeah, I admit, my bestfriend is handsome, that's why girls are head over heels with him, and I am not an exception.

"Smile, okay? You are more beautiful when you smile like that!" Then he winked to Jophie.

"Ano ka ba, thank you Kerk, I will always smile. Bye, hahabulin ko pa yung next class ko. Let's catch up after class."
