4:00pm safehouse

Draco had sat outside for the entire rest of the afternoon. As much as he wanted to run inside and comfort her, he also didn't want to make the situation worse. Make her sadder perhaps, or even angrier.
So he sat. In the freezing cold, his fingers numb- although he didn't seem to notice or care.
The sunlight had tucked itself away and replaced itself with dark clouds and a shadowy grey sky.

In the kitchen Syd stood, staring out the window right into Malfoy's back. She was doing the washing up, rolling hers eyes as Iris stood behind her with her arms tightly crossed against her body.
"Iris you can't leave him out there all day- he's only just bloody arrived."
Iris sighed, "Nothings stopping him from just coming in. He's being childish."

"The boy does really know how to have a good strop." Syd giggled, "Go and get him."
Then she finished drying her last pan, and walked out toward her bedroom, picking up an apple and the latest book she'd been reading from the side. She turned around, crunching into it.
Mouth still full, walking backwards she urged Iris again, "Go on!"

Iris smiled slightly at her best friend before heading towards the door to open it, Draco's head twisting around from outside with the sudden movement.
A few hours without her and he'd already forgotten how beautiful she was. He couldn't help but smile.
Her hair was tied into a loose plait pulled over one side, strands of blonde pulled out at the front. She was wearing a loose lilac jumper that was hanging off her bare shoulders. Her long lashes fluttering and her lips pink and glossy. She had her arms crossed, eyebrows raised.
"Finished having your little strop?" She cooed and he stood up, making his way towards her figure, leaning against the doorway.

"I'm sorry."
"I just wanted a minute Draco. It was a lot to take in you know, my boyfriend putting his dick in another girl."
He sighed, "Hey- it wasn't my choice."
"I just wanted some time alone." She shrugged.
"I like to keep an eye on you. I'm scared something bad will happen." He scowled back.
"Please me and Syd have been living here alone for nearly a month- oh gosh, your hands are freezing! What's that?"
She ran her hands over his knuckles, dried blood and blue from the cold. Iris raised her eyebrows, "Really- this must be like my fifth time healing those knuckles?"
Draco couldn't help but chuckle at her sass as he followed her inside, closing the door behind him. He pulled off his jacket and sat down on the sofa, beside Iris.

"Have I ever told you how beautiful you look?"
He ran his fingers along her long soft plait with a smile.
"Don't try to butter me up now. I think you've told me once or twice before." She smirked, raising her wand to began to close the open skin on his knuckle. Smiling down at his hand as a strand of hair fell across her face. Beautiful.

He felt better now she knew everything, all the facts.

They spent the next few hours tucked up on the sofa, Draco lighting the fire with ease.
Sydney stood up on the opposite sofa sharing her thoughts about how she thought the golden trio won. Very passionately indeed, Iris simply didn't know how she had so much energy. She'd been speaking for about an hour, no breaks, and Iris and Draco couldn't help chuckling to themselves.

2 hours later

Sat around the table, candle lit. Bowls of steaming pasta that Iris had quickly whizzed up. Sydney tucked solemnly up in her duvet in the next room after refusing to eat- again.
Draco was staring across at her, the candle flickering and lighting up shadows across her delicate features. Her lilac jumper leaving her tanned shoulders exposed, it was the strangest feeling- not being able to take his eyes off her.
She caught him staring and the side of her mouth quirked into a smile.

"Does it feel strange, knowing you'll probably never go back to the manor?"
Draco shrugged, "A little. But I didn't really associate it as a home."
Iris sighed before replying, "I wish we could return to the rose garden, I loved it there."
"I know you did. I used to as well."
"Before he-
"Ruined it?"
"Yes. Ruined everything."
