Jeongguk stood, grasping some meat between his teeth and snapping his jaws to chew it. It was awkward, to say the least. The meat was small, and his teeth made for shredding, so he was sure he looked stupid in the feeble attempts to chew the food.

By the time he actually managed it, the meat was cold and bit smushed, but the flavor was nice, so he didn't bother with it. He was grateful for something in his belly, and his instincts demanded that he eat to replenish what he had lost.

The human speaks after a while.

"Yoongi."

Confused, Jeongguk raised his head from his bowl to look back towards the human. His white hair fell over his forehead, the moonlight brushing his sugary skin as he stared in his general direction, but never met his gaze.

He cleared his throat quickly. "My name. It's Yoongi. Min Yoongi."

Yoongi, Jeongguk found himself murmuring, forgetting once again that the human couldn't hear him. Wouldn't be able to hear the name that flowed effortlessly. Jeongguk. My name is Jeongguk.

Yoongi turns his head away. "I just realized that... you know nothing about me. And I don't really know you. Other than you're- you're a Lycan. And you're injured because you fought what I am assuming is another Lycan." He shook his head tiredly. "Do you know how crazy that sounds to me?"

No, he didn't know. But he understood it. The idea of telling Jimin and Taehyung that a human had taken him in and nursed him back to health, even yelling at him for growling was like some kind of pup's story gone wrong.

It was insane, and yet here they are.

Wolves like Jeongguk didn't really refer to themselves as "Lycans". It was a dead word to them, something that described beings that would change their shape frequently, but wolves lived and died as wolves.

The ability didn't make them so.

Sighing, Yoongi stood and gathered the now empty bowls. Unsure of how else to show gratitude, he did the only thing that came to mind. When Yoongi's hand reached and grasped the bowl, he let his tongue slid over his fingers.

The human froze. "Did you just... lick me?"

Jeongguk huffed, hopping back to his feet and limping back towards the pile of blankets that was lathered with his scent. The place that he considered "his".

"You actually licked me," Yoongi muttered, and Jeongguk plopped himself back onto the blankets. "I'll just take that as either a "thanks" or "you're not terrible, Yoongi"."

Jeongguk didn't do anything. Watched Yoongi's shadow as the sound of running water greeted his ears. That was how he fell back into slumber, tired, aching, and belly sated.

The next few days pass in shocking peace.

Cujo mainly remained in his wolf form, either sleeping or nibbling, or laying by the fire, and Yoongi kept to himself. He would greet the other, usually in the mornings, and even ask simple questions that could be answered with yes or no, and left it at that.

It wasn't exactly easy, either. Yoongi was used to his own space and sharing it suddenly with a being that he didn't know, human or otherwise, was something he wasn't sure how to handle.

He was quiet, generally, and currently Cujo didn't seem to mind that. Yoongi would work on his tracks, offer music when needed, and read at night, then go to bed with a grumble of goodnight to his... temporary housemate?

Honestly, Yoongi didn't know what to consider Cujo. He wasn't a pet, despite his appearance, but he wasn't a friend either.

Not even a roommate, the bills was enough to back that up.
