"Use the thunder?" Yoongi repeated, dumfounded. His brow furrowed in thought before a trickle of dread bubbled in his belly. "You mean guns?"
"I don't know. They are loud, they sound like thunder cracking, and then- then one of the pack members dies from it," Jeongguk explains, scowling. "Head Alpha always warns us to never go near humans for that. It's why Tae and I hide far away from humans when we listen to music."
"Darling," Yoongi says, stopping. Jeongguk froze as well, amber eyes searching his features. Yoongi squeezes his hand. "That is a gun, and yes, I sadly agree with your Head Alpha. You have to be careful, but here, I promise that nothing will happen to you. Alright? I am right here. No one will hurt you here."
Jeongguk nibbled on his bottom lip. He knew that Yoongi meant what he said, and he will protect him like he always does. Even when it was against another wolf (like he did with Seokjin before he knew).
He smiles tightly. "Okay, Yoongi."
Nodding, they start back off.
At first, Jeongguk remained attached to the hip, but the more they kept going and the other hikers ignored them, the more he would venture a bit more ahead of Yoongi.
The town really wasn't much. The buildings were neat, covered in a light dusting of snow rather than the heaps of it back at the cabin. There a post office, the first building once you step out of the mountain area.
After that was a camping supply store, a small clothing store that was a few years behind compared to Seoul's fashion industry, and then a mechanics shop, and a tiny grocery store.
It really wasn't much, all within a few blocks' radius, and on the other side were the apartment buildings that Yoongi wouldn't touch with a ten-foot pole.
"Let's get you some clothes first," Yoongi says, narrowing his eyes to peer in windows in an attempt to figure out which one held the clothes. He had only been there once, briefly, and he never stopped to look around. Namjoon was always the one who went down here if he needed something.
Jeongguk was examining the streets, nose tilted slightly towards the air, and Yoongi was sure he heard sounds of sniffing. Yoongi swallowed the sudden desire to kiss his nose and tugged gently on his hand.
"Darling, can you find the one with clothes?"
Jeongguk pouts. "Clothes? Can't I just wear yours?"
"No," Yoongi replies instantly, arching a thin brow. "You need something of your own."
"But... I like your clothes..." the wolf continues, pursing his lips and cheeks pink. Yoongi smiles, reminding himself again that they are in public, and kissing Jeongguk, who is a male, didn't seem like a bright idea.
Not in this bum-fuck town.
"I like you wearing them, but, darling, my clothes don't fit you well, and soon Jin is going to be around with Namjoon. Can't have you wearing just tight sweats, can we?"
"Plus, the pup," Jeongguk grumbles, shoulders curling in slight defeat.
Yoongi hums. "Plus, the- plus the pup."
"Fine. I guess... some clothes," Jeongguk relented, though he seemed less than pleased about it. Yoongi squeezed his hand.
"Don't worry, darling. I'll reward you for your efforts," he promises smoothly, allowing Jeongguk to tug him in the direction of the store they needed.
