"I can't be an Omega," Jeongguk replied dully. Jimin whimpered low, a long, drawn out sound of pain. "Does... is my father aware?"

Jimin hesitated. "Lead Beta... Lead Beta has already informed the Head Alpha that a new Omega has fallen into his first heat, yes." He paused, ears pinning to his head. "He knows."

Jeongguk winced. The desire to flee tumbled around, but he held back. He was supposed to be an Alpha, like his father. He was one of the few males born from his mother, his father's mate, and the Female Alpha of the pack..

Taehyung yipped quietly from where he was hovering in the entrance of the den, not daring to venture into Omega territory without first being allowed. Beta or not, an Omega nest was priceless to an Omega.

Jeongguk already found himself weary, glancing back towards a pile of leaves, long grasses, and other treasures he seemed to have forged and made as his nest. The idea of the Beta's scent soiling it made a rumble go through his chest.

He guessed he couldn't deny it anymore. That he would not have his own best friend's scent ruining a pile of leaves that the wolf wouldn't allow even a Beta in it.

He barked back, allowing Taehyung within his home. He refused to acknowledge the Omega in him that wailed in disapproval.

Jeongguk wiped at his cheeks, focusing all of his attention on the human that remained fast asleep, nestling Jeongguk close against him. The Omega in him preened, pleased to be held so closely.

He examined Yoongi's features. He took in the curve of his jaw, noting the softer edges but little chin, and button nose. His baby doll pink lips were pursed, puckered lightly, and cheeks tinted pink from the warmth of their makeshift nest.

Yoongi was... pretty, if Jeongguk dare say. He wasn't really all that sure about human standards of beauty, but with the white hair falling over his fair skin and dark lashes brushing his eyes, and a smile that revealed pink gums...

He was pretty. But he was also fierce, putting Jeongguk within his place, similar to an Alpha, while at the same time wasn't domineering. He cared, fed, and protected him. Taught him.

Sighing, Jeongguk closed his eyes again. The scent of crisp rain and honeysuckle eased the aches in Jeongguk's chest as he floundered about his future, about who he is, and what he was supposed to do.

He knew what he wanted to do, and maybe even what he needed to do, but one glance at Yoongi silenced the idea before it could manifest on his tongue.

"Stop thinking," Yoongi grunts, startling Jeongguk bad enough that he jerked back, unused to his human limbs, and flailed until he tumbled to the floor and landed in his nest of blankets and pillows with a loud thud.

Yoongi gasped, pushing himself to sit up and peer down at the bewildered looking Jeongguk. A smirk twitched at his lips, moments before he broke into laughter that shook his entire frame, arms wrapped around his stomach.

Jeongguk growled. "Yoongi! Don't laugh!"

Yoongi only laughed harder. Squeaks of air hitching in his lungs as he fell back against the cushions, and beside himself, Jeongguk couldn't help but giggle at the sounds.

When Yoongi finally caught his breath, he was grinning lazily at Jeongguk. He hated the way his heart fluttered like a butterfly's wings. "Sorry, darling," he drawled in his raspy morning voice, "I didn't mean to scare you."
