Clasping onto his shoulder, Yoongi balked, the panic returning. "It hurt so fucking bad. I couldn't- I don't know if I screamed or not, but I remember thinking I wanted him to let me go. I clawed at him, but he only gripped tighter."
"Yoongi..."
"It fucking hurt. So much blood. So much pain. It was too much- too much," Yoongi halted, gasping as he yanked down his shirt and fumbled at the skin of his shoulder. "I blacked out. I know I did. The world just- it tilted and I remember thinking I was going to die. I was dying. I know I was dying. I wanted to- I wanted to tell Jeongguk I love him."
Silence.
Seokjin didn't try to break the silence. His hand tightened over Yoongi's, as if trying to keep him from drowning in the memories. Be the anchor that kept him ashore.
Yoongi closed his eyes. He couldn't bare to glance at his face. Not now. "What... what happened? Is Jeongguk- fuck. Is Jeongguk okay?"
Seokjin inhales. Exhales. "After you fell unconscious, the grey wolf, which we now know was feral. Completely swallowed by his wolf side to the point there was nothing human left about him. Rare, but can happen." A bitter smile twitches. "Hoseok- the Beta that smells of peppermint and fern- he came. He intervened. Saved Jeongguk's life, managed to kill the damn thing."
"Hoseok," Yoongi mumbles absently.
Seokjin nods, the composure beginning to crack. Fragments of his calmness slipping away. "Jeongguk had called the pack. Fuck, Yoongi," he swore loudly, gasping, "you were dying. That thing left nothing left of your shoulder to repair. It was fucking shredded like goddamned paper."
Yoongi's mouth was dry. The rose had long withered, turning rotten. So rotten that it coated his mouth like ash.
"Not even a hospital could save you, Yoongi." Anger. There was anger in his tone, and Yoongi forced himself to peel open his eyes and stare into the scorching amber. "There wasn't enough time to save you. To even get you to a hospital."
"Jin..."
"You healed."
The words sounded far away. A white noise. A ringing, or maybe a mosquito buzzing in his ear. Yoongi didn't know. It was crazy. Wolves don't even heal that fast. Nothing he knows heals that fast.
If he was as bad as Seokijn said he was, then one didn't just heal.
Seokjin's face was ashen grey. Devoid of color, and his white lips were pressed together in a firm line as his trembling hand cards through his buttercream hair. He didn't seem to be joking, wouldn't dare joke about something this serious.
Yoongi couldn't breathe.
"Jin, that's... that is impossible."
Seokjin laughs. Cackles like a hyena. "I know. I fucking know that," he manages out, shaking his head. "Bone snapped back into place. Skin stitching itself together like some shitty X-Files movie. Impossible, I know. But fucking hell, Yoongi, Namjoon was greiving you. Jeongguk was so lost in his wolf side that he almost went feral himself. Then, poof. You're healed. Not even a goddamn scratch."
That's impossible. Yoongi was human. Not even wolves could do that, so how in the hell did he just- heal?
"Want to know the best part?" Seokjin continues, tilting back his head and smiling as if he had just won the lottery. Yoongi hesitates, then nodded his head once. He hums. "Jeongguk healed too. And Hoseok. Both of them. At the same time. Just- poof." He waves his hand, adding sarcastic sound effects. Yoongi felt sick. "No more scratches. Not even scarring."
