"Darling," Yoongi croons gently, fingers tangled in sable hair. "I'm okay. I'm right here. No Beta here."
Jeongguk nodded, returning his nose to the crook of his neck and inhaling his scent by the lungful, further loosening the fear that kept the wolf in him distraught.
Slowly, the Omega in him settled, knowing they were safe.
Seokjin peeked into the room, hand grasping tightly at the bewildered Namjoon that stood behind him and sighed in relief at seeing the two of them okay.
"What happened?" Yoongi asked the older Omega, arms locked tightly around Jeongguk and shielding his naked frame protectively from the older couple.
Seokjin sighs, pushing open the door, but didn't dare enter the room knowing that it was Jeongguk's nesting room. Even though they were pack now, he wasn't ready to cross that boundary.
He wore nothing except some boxers, Namjoon's basing on the scent, and his belly still looked as if he was just bloated. His buttercream hair was sticking up and slightly damp from playing around in the snow.
"We were going for a run, because we both were just a little antsy, and we caught scents of two Lycan's. One of them smelled... wrong. Lycan, and yet... no sub-gender attached." Jeongguk nestled himself further into Yoongi, and the human kissed his hair tenderly. "A bit further up, but another one smelled of Beta. And what is weird is that the scent is faint, as if the Beta is working to keep his scent from us, and it's all around. The cabin, the forest, the creek."
Namjoon frowned. "A Beta that is lingering around?"
Seokjin hums absently. "There is no pack scent around him either, or no mate. Seems like a lone wolf."
"The Beta could be passing through," Namjoon offers.
Seokjin didn't seem convinced but murmured a quiet agreement. Jeongguk pushed himself out of Yoongi's arms but remained hovering.
"Either way, I'll keep my nose to the ground. If I catch a whiff of him again, I'll be sure to tell you, Jin."
"Good idea," Seokjin agreed. He looked towards Yoongi. "No going outside alone. This Beta doesn't seem aggressive, and really could just be passing through, but don't want to take any chances."
"Like I go out in the woods alone," scoffed Yoongi. "But fair enough."
Seokjin sighed, shaking his head tiredly. "That was more drama then I wanted but... I'll get dressed and start cooking."
"I'll help you," Yoongi added, moving to stand, but Jeongguk let out a small distressed wail and tightened his arms around Yoongi's waist. Yoongi settled back down, returning his arms around the Omega. "Easy, darling. I promise everything is fine here."
Jeongguk didn't budge.
Seokjin waved him off. "Don't worry about it. Stay here and until everything settles. Big change the past few days, you know?"
Mumbling agreement, they all split up to start preparing for their own Chuseok. Carefully Yoongi helps Jeongguk stand and led them both to the bed where they collapse amongst the sheets.
XVIII.
Chuseok passed peacefully.
Well, as peaceful as having two wolves and two human counterparts can be.
In other words, not all that peacefully. If Yoongi had to put a word to the event, he would throw in something akin to chaos, anarchy, utter, complete disaster.
Just to name a few.
But it was the kind of chaos that Yoongi could find peace in. The loud shouts of joy that erupted from the kitchen when Jeongguk accidently spilled too much soap, and then splashed Seokjin with it.
