"That... that I am an Omega." Jeongguk's voice darkened at the word Omega, as if it had personally offended him.
Yoongi's gut tightened.
"Darling, I don't care if you were an Alpha, Beta, or Omega. To me, you're just Jeongguk, and whatever else there is to you is just a part of you," Yoongi explained firmly. "I may not understand how you being an Omega makes you weak, because to me you're so strong. You've gone this long, survived in ways I can't even imagine. Omega or not, you're my Jeongguk. That wolf that growled at me for feeding him."
Jeongguk barked out a surprised laugh, earning a large smile from Yoongi as he slapped a hand over his mouth to muffle the sound. Amused, Yoongi settled himself further into the pillows, body relaxed.
"Says you," Jeongguk snickered. "Do you have any idea how surprised I was? This tiny human running out, calling us "fucktards" and brandishing a twig?"
"Branch, really," he corrected drily.
"Twig," Jeongguk insisted, grinning. Yoongi had a feeling if he was in wolf form, his tail would be wagging. "And the next thing I know you're feeding me meat and telling me not to die, even when I growled at you. All I could think was humans are crazy."
Yoongi buried his face in his pillow, recalling all the words he had spoken to the wolf from before he truly realized that Jeongguk was just a bit more than a normal canine.
Jeongguk shifted closer, the scent of pine returning. "I am sorry I growled at you, Yoongi."
"Sorry for calling you Cujo."
Jeongguk snorts, amusement returning. "Why did you even call me that? It doesn't make sense."
"Do you know what Cujo is?" Jeongguk shook his head. Yoongi chuckled. "It's this large dog that got bit by a bat, became rabid, and killed people."
Jeongguk scowled. "You called me a rabid dog?"
Yoongi shrugged, fighting off a smirk. "You growled at me. What was I supposed to do? Call you fucking Benji?"
Jeongguk gave a dry stare. "Is that another dog's name?"
"Yeah, a cute little guy who likes snuggles," Yoongi replied cheekily. Jeongguk huffed, shoving Yoongi's shoulder playfully as the older man laughed again.
"I am a wolf," Jeongguk whines, reminding Yoongi of a puppy as he wiggles his body in displeasure. Yoongi hums, smiling as he watched Jeongguk's outline fondly. "I am fierce."
"About as fierce as a bunny," he countered. Jeongguk growled in his chest, but there was no real heat behind it. Yoongi chuckled, pulling Jeongguk closer and resting his chin on his head. "Thank you. For coming back."
"Yoongi." Jeongguk shifted, raising his hand as he placed Yoongi's hands on his face. "The forest... the forest will always hold a part of me. I will always belong to it, but- but I was wondering if maybe... maybe this can be home for me."
Surprise washed over Yoongi. "You want to stay? Stay with me?"
Jeongguk nodded, skin warm beneath Yoongi's fingertips. "If you want me to stay, I would like to."
"Yes. Yes, stay."
Jeongguk smiled, cheeks nearly bursting at the seams beneath Yoongi's hands, and he felt something inside of him calm. The storm he had no idea was brewing, winds howling that came to a stop.
"Okay."
A part of Yoongi was scared. Scared of the feeling of Jeongguk's hands grasping at his shirt, holding him in place. Scared of the way Yoongi leaned in and relished the boy's touch as if he was water and Yoongi was the desert.
