Yoongi felt this heart leap into his throat, relieved.
Rushing over to the door, he yanked it open, stepping onto the porch.
Jeongguk stood in wolf form, tail up and body still as he hovered near the railing. Yoongi had never been so happy to see someone on his porch. A smile grew on his face as he fell to his knees and opened his arms.
"Jeongguk-ah," he whispered.
The wolf bounded over, changing into human form the last second and collapsing into Yoongi's arms.
Jeongguk collided, knocking Yoongi back, but the human didn't mind.
Jeongguk's skin was chilled from the night air, arms slithering around Yoongi's neck and holding him tightly.
Yoongi rested his hands on his tiny waist, soaking up the overwhelming scent of pine.
"Yoongi," Jeongguk rasped, hands tightening a fraction from within Yoongi's snowy hair. "Yoongi, you're here."
"I'm here," Yoongi promised, burying his nose back within the sable hair and inhaling sharply. Jeongguk whined, nuzzling further. "You're here."
"Yoongi," Jeongguk whispered, peeling himself away just enough to see his features, golden eyes gleaming and glowing within the pale moonlight. "Can we go to bed?"
A laugh bubbled from Yoongi's throat, gums showing, and eyes crinkled with joy as he leaned forward and pressed his forehead firmly against Jeongguk's.
"Yeah, darling. Let's go to bed."
Yoongi got to his feet, Jeongguk grasping at his hand as he hauled himself back to two legs. Wrapping an arm around his waist to support him, Yoongi trudged them back through the house and collapsed against the sheets.
Jeongguk tucked himself against Yoongi instantly, wearing only a pair of boxer shorts that Yoongi loaned, and sighed as Yoongi stroked his hair.
"Goodnight, Yoongi."
"Goodnight, darling."
--------
Yoongi awoke to the feeling of fingers tracing the outline of his jaw. They were calloused, but familiar as they fluttered over his skin and leaving a burning trail of heat in their wake.
A smile spread over his lips, not even bothering to open his eyes to know who was causing the sensation. The fingers paused in their work, sensing that Yoongi was awake, and then returned to their exploration.
Yoongi peeled open his eyes. "Morning, darling."
Jeongguk smiled back, legs tangled with Yoongi's and body as close as humanly (or wolvenly) possible. "Morning," he whispered back.
Smiling, Yoongi pushes himself up into sitting position. Jeongguk lets him up, remaining lying down as Yoongi tussles his hair, sighing out in slight exhaustion.
Neither of them speaks for a long, drawn out moment. The silence of the morning was accompanied by the familiar song of the birds, orange sunlight basking their skin in golden light.
"Yoongi," Jeongguk murmured, gaining the older man's attention. He turned his head, watching as Jeongguk's shape twisting into sitting position, fingers fiddling with strands of his long hair. "I'm- I'm sorry. That I came back."
Yoongi frowned, reaching over and clasping Jeongguk's hand tightly within his. He could feel Jeongguk's muscles, tight and locked, a slight tremble to his fingers.
